Pass Rush Moves

A. Bull Rush

1. Attack the face of the blocker. Cut the cushion down as fast as

possible.

2. When close enough to touch the blocker without reaching,

explode with face of hand on the breast plate of the blocker.

3. You must make his helmet snap. Get the blocker to straighten up.
Use quick explosive punch.

4. As you attack through the face of blocker, lift the blocker with
hand shiver and hip explosion.

5. As the blocker is going back, work through the edge of the

blocker (1/3 of body).

6. When OL braces himself and a stalemate occurs, reload. Raise

elbows and sink the hips simultaneously. Then continue your
bull rush.

7. Three counters to bull rush and bull rush flip-rip: Use when
in Rip position and OL punches your hip and rides you outside.
OL is cheating when he is leaning on you - counterback!

a) Drop step and high club

 Use when the rusher is in Rip position and feels the OL leaning
on him to ride him outside.

 Drop step with the rip leg and release your brace on the OL.

 Use OL momentum to pull the OL and violently club him with

the rip hand and rip again to the QB.
 Don't quit on your rip too early.

b) Spin

 Use when the rusher in a rip position feels the OL leaning

on him to ride him outside.

 Brace inside leg and sink the hips.

 Release outside leg and bring it to the back.

 Take outside arm back also and land it on the back of the
blocker.

c) Arm Over

 Use when locked up with OL on a rip and are somewhat past

the blocker and OL sits on your rip or OL is top heavy.

 Point rip thumb to the ground.

 Raise elbow to the sky. Push down on OL's elbow.

 Arm over/arm through his back.

B. Rip

1. Dip your shoulder nearest the blocker to power past the blocker.

2. Use your hand opposite the OL to pull the blocker’s near arm in
an explosive manner to gain an upfield advantage with your
outside shoulder.
3. Rip your arm closest to the blocker upward in the manner of an
uppercut punch to a point outside the plane of the blocker’s
body.

C. Bull Rush Flip-Rip

1. Use when OL braces himself and lunges.

2. Bull rush work to a side. Simultaneously flip with your

rush lane hand and step with lane feet.

3. Release back hand and stay nice and tight while flipping.
Point toes at QB.

4. You must lean from a fit position. Flip and step with same
arm same leg.

5. Once in a race position: high arm-rip; low arm-arm

over/swim.

6. Must be in complete rip - raise blocker. Make sure he is in

a no-strength position.

7. Counters: See drop step and club, spin and arm over.
D. Counter Club-Rip

1. Take short counter step inside to get the OL to set inside or

shift his weight inside

2. Club outside shoulder or triceps and your back on the

edge. Must have club hand and leg move at the same time.

3. Now all counters are available.

E. Counter Step-Rip-Spin

1. Counter step in the direction of your spin. Use to get to OL

to set that way.

2. Use lazy rip opposite side.

3. Spin back in direction of the counter move.

4. Use vs. strong OL with hand held high.

F. Bull Rush Through the Hands

1. The rusher will get out of his stance leading with his hands
and grab the OL's wrist or forearm from underneath.

2. Raise the OL's arms as high as possible and get your

helmet in his face; then your back in a bull rush.

3. vs. high hands

a) Counter step opposite way of your rush lane.

b) Chop OL's wrist or forearm of the rush lane with your

rush lane arm.

c) Arm over with opposite arm.

d) If OL gets his hands on you, finish off with rip.

G. Cross Arm

1. Counter step opposite way of your rush lane.

2. Use opposite arm of rush lane to chop OL's rush lane wrist.

3. Club and step with the rush lane leg.

4. Advantage: one hand free.

H. Stab
1. When a rusher can't get to OL breastplate because OL
locks out on you, use one hand and stab to the breastplate
and club with your free hand.

2. Drop your hips.
