Mountains are made from rocks of the earth and it should be higher than 600

meters. If it’s less than 600 meters they are considered to be hills. They are formed
by the gigantic movement of the earth’s crust. It has different forms and sizes.
They are large landforms that have a limited area. Mountains are very steep but
maybe little parts of it might have slopes.

Mountain: if you look closely

the shapes are not the same,
some parts look bumpy and
some parts look like slopes

Usually causes that can change the mountains are Glaciers, erosions and the
weather. The season of the year also influence mountains because sometimes the
weather changes into snow and from the heat (sun burn rocks) it becomes a snow
mountain. If the season changes it can really change the mountain. In some
countries because some of the places have lots of seasons of the year and then it
changes a lot of the time, for example: In Switzerland there is a season of spring,
so then around the mountains there will be trees growing or maybe some little
plants because the trees are starting to grow during that season of spring. It’s like
the season that is between winter and summer.

Snowy mountains can change into really hot sunburn mountains. The seasons and weather
conditions influence these changes.

The things that can change the mountains are erosions which can change the mountains into
hills and it can also change the sides and the shape of the mountain into other very different
shapes from before. Glaciers can change the mountain by the body of ice that slides down the
floor and it can change caves that aren’t covered with snow into a snow cave! Now, the
weather can barely change the mountain by the month (which is mostly like the season)
like when it’s really hot the rocks of the mountains starts to get hot too because of that it is
so high it’s closer to the sun.

Diagram: rocks falling off,

this is called a rock
avalanche.

A rock avalanche is when part of a mountain face of cliff has broken away. This may have
happened because if rock erosion from water or certain weather conditions. When a piece of
a mountain falls away from the rock face it can cause other rocks to break away too.

After the change, mountains might become hills or it might change shapes because
of the erosion, or glaciers could cover up all of the caves on the mountain with the
ice and snow. Seasons might already change for the year and the weather could
already change too. After the change it might be that the season is a hot one, so
then the rocks of the mountain might be really hot. The weather might be snowing
at that time, so it might be covered with snow.

Snow that becomes water (it

melts and slides down the
mountain)

Weather can impact humans beings like us because when the mountains have a
heavy snow we can’t get up there because it’s too cold for us but that doesn’t
impact nature. Another one is if it’s too hot, mostly we can go up but if it is too hot
we can’t because we can’t stand the hot temperature or we’ll burn.

Mountains change because of natural phenomena, not because of human activity.

Humans may blow up mountains to make tunnels for cars. This would be the only
case that a mountain landform would be changed. The plates moving beneath the
Earth’s surface is how mountains form. It takes many years for this process to
happen. When two plates are pushed up against each other they move in an upward
direction. Mountains are fascinating landscapes.
