Tourist patients come from other countries to have
surgeries and at the same time to tour the country. You
will be involved in activities related to Client service
(tourist patient /user) to help you create a survey.
LEVEL: A1—A2

OBJECTIVES:

To ask and give simple information related to students’ daily life, health and
study program.

To survey other students or teachers

To involve students in customer service tasks, Surveying, for instance.

GENERAL COMPETENCE

The student can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring simple and
direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities and can
handle very short social exchanges, even though he/she cannot usually
understand enough to keep the conversation going on by himself.

INTRODUCTION

One of the language and social functions as a Health Technologist / Technician, is


enquiring and interviewing a Health Services user about items such as his or her
personal info, medical record(s), health status and the purpose of the visit and use
of such services.

TASK

You will design a survey for health services users to collect reliable and true
information about users’ health habits, routines and preferences, this survey must
be applied in a specific group of users.

PROCESS

Client service providers has to deal with many information and users. You will have
to develop some tasks which are compulsory to achieve your final product. These
tasks should be solved with your group and each one of you has to participate. To
do so you can bring your own English books, dictionaries, computers, etc.

indications:

1. Choose your group (maximum 4 people).

2. Choose a subject.

You should survey other SENA learners and SENA Instructors. Choose a subject related to health
and to your study program that help you determine How our SENA community life style is.

4. Choose with your teacher the population you want to survey.

5. With the help of your teacher correct the survey you made and then, procide to survey the
chosen population (10 people).

6. You have to make a tabulation to share with your class.

WHILE SURVEYING

Remember you cannot speak spanish. You should make you understand somehow by gestures or
using other words you don’t have in your survey form.

If your teacher is not with you: You can record your survey to prove you have done it without
using spanish, even if the people you are surveying use it.
Don’t worry if you don’t pronounce perfectly. That’s something you can improve gradually.

AFTER SURVEYING:

You have to socialize with your classmates the tabulation you made. You should prepare your
presentation before with the help of your teacher.
