Description of Subjects : Compounds have double functional group: the discussion focused on unique properties of acidic dialkanoic compounds, dialkanol,
hydroxyalkanal, hydroxyalkanon, hydroxyalkanoat acid, dialkanon, ketoalkanal, ketoalkanoic acid, and ketoalkylalkanoic. Chemical
properties and analysis of amino acids, peptides and proteins. Review the structure, chemical properties, and reactions to the introduction
of carbohydrate compounds: monosaccharides, oligosaccharides, polysaccharides. The study of structure and chemical properties of lipids,
mainly glyceride. The discussion about the basic structure and the source in nature and the recognition reaction of terpenoids, steroids,
flavonoids, glycosides and alkaloids. Discussion was also associated with the use of such compounds in industry and in everyday life.
Competency:
1. To describe the typical characteristics of double functional group compounds: dialkanoic acid, dialkanol, hidroxylakanal, hidroxyalkanon, hidroxyalkanoic acid,
dialkanon, ketoalkanal, ketoalkanoic acid, and acid ketoalkilalkanoic.
2. To describe the structure, properties and reactions of chemical identification of carbohydrates: monosaccharides, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides.
3. To describe the structure, chemical properties and reactions of lipid identification
4. To describe the nature of compounds: terpenoids, steroids, flavonoids, glycosides and alkaloids as well as some utilization for human life.
5. To describe the use of multiple functions bergugus compounds, carbohydrates, lipids and compounds classified as secondary metabolites in various areas of life.
