Dear assessment readers,

In my electronic portfolio I have included work that I have been assigned by Jennie Enger for the
course of English 320: Business and Professional Writing that I am currently enrolled in. Work
that can be found in the electronic portfolio include: a cover letter, designer resume, and
scannable resume from unit 1, transmittal letter and recommendation report from unit 2,
instructions and usability test from unit 3, and my project proposal, project progress report, and
actual project from unit 4.

Throughout the semester I have identified what project shows my best work. I thought my
hunter safety guide for my unit 4 project identified my best work. I knew a lot of the
information prior to the start and it was something that I was interested in so it was a pleasure
researching and designing it. The hunter safety guide provides quality safety precautions and
safety tips to ensure safety by all of its readers. I also thought the use of pictures included my
pamphlet gave visual assurance to the correct procedures I was trying to convey to my audience.
I thought the format was clear and legible, and was placed in the right order to be organized and
legible.

Although I was proud of my hunter safety guide, my other work showed some positive traits.
With each project, we usually had to create some sort of cover letter or transmittal letter to
accompany our project. By being in this class I was able to professional communicate properly
at the professional level. This class has taught me how to be sophisticated and coherent with my
writings, which in turn made me analyze and revise my work to make it my best work.

Throughout the course I acknowledged my best work, however I did identify areas of
improvement and revisions I could work on. I had trouble organizing my work progression on
each project. What I mean can be translated as I knew what I had to do, I would just do little by
little which in turn made my work unorganized. After I would piece it together, I would have
segments of work that I had trouble transitioning them together and often had to rewrite the
whole project to make it more fluent and understandable. Looking back on this I think devising
a progress report with my assignments would help me be more organized and help me get things
done more easily.

The objective of this course was to educate us and prepare us to write professionally in the
business world. I believe my work demonstrates that I met this objective by following the
teachings and formats provided in this course. Whichever project it was I researched and
analyzed the assignment requirements and completed the assignment following the correct
format and the teachers suggestions and orders. Whether it be cover letters, transmittal letters, or
progress reports, I made them acceptable and up to professional standards. I did this by using
proper grammar and proper formatting to make the assignment as neat as possible.
