Peter Eecen
Peter Eecen is Group Leader of the group Aerodynamics at ECN Wind Energy.
This group aims at optimising the aerodynamic performance of the wind turbine
rotor and of the wind farm as a whole. Peter Eecen joined the Energy Research
Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) in 2000 where he worked in the unit Wind
Energy as Group Leader Wind and Wave Conditions, Group Leader Experiments
and as Project Manager in Operation and Maintenance of offshore wind farms.
Tanya Davies
Tanya Davies is the Welsh Development Manager at RWE npower renewables
where she leads a team of ten developers working on all aspects of consenting
onshore wind projects. Tanya is a Chartered town planner who spent the first 6
years of her career in Local Government and has now been working in the
renewables industry for nearly eight years.
Dr. Simon Watson
Dr Watson began his education in North Lincolnshire and studied for a degree in
physics at Imperial College, London. Dr Watson then spent eight years working
as a Senior Scientific Officer in the Energy Research Unit of the Rutherford
Appleton Laboratory. His research included wind power forecasting, wind
resource assessment and the integration of wind power into electricity networks.
He then worked for Good Energy which is one of the leading independent
suppliers of electricity generated from renewable energy sources including wind
power and small hydro power. During this time, he helped to develop the
settlements and trading systems before joining Loughborough University in 2001.
At Loughborough, Dr Watson has worked on a number of EU and EPSRC
projects collborating with a number of leading research centres in the UK and
Europe as well as key players in the wind power industry. Dr Watson is a visiting
lecturer to Zaragoza University in Spain, Member of the Institute of Physics and
Member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers.
Sebastian Mertens
Sebastian Mertens is active in the wind industry for eight years now. After being
with a major German wind turbine manufacturer as Sales Manager for CEE for
three years, he took over the role of Head of Wind Energy Projects (national and
international) at a German based developer and stayed there for three years. He
joined E.ON Climate & Renewables Central Europe GmbH (EC&R CE) in 2008
where he was, initially as Head of Development New Markets (wind), responsible
for EC&R CE’s wind energy project development in Romania and Turkey. In mid
2009 he became Head of Development Poland and Managing Director of E.ON
Energie Odnawialne, the Polish subsidiary of EC&R CE.
David Whitley
David has been the Chief Advisor of Grid Operations in Statnett SF since 2008,
where he is primarily responsible for market development, operational issues,
technical policy strategy including European integration. With a very broad power
market understanding, he is also an ENTSOE representative on IDM and Control
reserve working groups. Prior to joining Statnett, David was the Vice President of
Business Development at Nord Pool ASA from 1999. He oversaw the
implementation of new trading and clearing products, services and technology
provision (including CO2, international power on 3rd party references, OTC and
GCM services). Having spent 3 years at Siemens as Divisional Managing Director,
David has a solid background in the technical aspect of transmission system.
Graduated with a BSc Electrical & Electronic Engineering and MBA with
distinction, David is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers (UK) and a well-trained
cross-country skier.
Peter Eecen

Bjørn Iuell
Bjørn Iuell is a terrestrial ecologist by education, and graduated from the
University of Oslo in 1983. He has a wide experience in the field of spatial
planning and environmental management; from his five years working for
WWF/Norway, partly as secretary general; 8 years working with environmental
management and spatial planning for local and regional authorities, and 11 years
a senior principal engineer at the Norwegian Roads Directorate; with special
focus on the fragmentation of natural environments on regional, national and
international level. He is currently working as a senior environmental advisor at
Statkraft AS, a European leader in renewable energy, with special responsibility
for the environmental aspects connected to planning, construction and operation
of onshore and offshore wind farms.
Marco Di Leo
Marco Di Leo is an Industrial Engineer by education, graduated from Politecnico
of Turin in 2003 and overspecialized with a Master in ‘Wind engineering’ from
Politecnico of Milan in 2004. He has a wide experience in wind assessment,
WAsP user duly certified by Risø National Laboratory (Denmark), from his five
years working as Project Engineer at Asja Ambiente Italia SpA, with special focus
in anemology and turbine technology. He is currently working as Wind Sector
Responsible at Element Power Italy SpA, the Italian branch of a world-wide
Company leader in renewable energy, managing all the development,
construction and operation of onshore Italian wind farms.
Wolfgang Kropp
Mr. Kropp has been the CEO of SVEVIND AB/ SVEVIND Group in Sweden since
1998. From 2003 to 2005, he was the Managing Director of the Future Energy
GmbH, Freiberg (now Siemens AG) in Germany where he was in charge of
gasification technology and biomass project with Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe
(FZK). Mr. Kropp has extensive experience with wind industry – between 1995
and 2005, he was the Managing Director at BOREAS Energieanlagen GmbH in
Dresden. He was responsible for planning and building 150 turbines with an
investment of more than 150million EUR. Mr. Kropp graduated with an
Engineering degree at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin in 1988.
Stephen Norman
Stephen Norman qualified in meteorology and oceanography from Southampton
University and is now working for the UK Met Office leading the development of
new solutions for the global energy industry. He has spent the last two years
working closely with the wind renewable energy markets and has developed
business relationships with major Utilities in UK and Europe, other key wind
energy developers and operators, turbine manufacturers, investment banks and
consultancies. He is focussed on both weather and climate issues within the
energy industry and is committed to providing clients with new and innovative
solutions to ensure the industry is harnessing the very latest science to exploit
new developments onshore and offshore. Prior to joining the Met Office Stephen
was a partner in KPMG Consulting where he spent over 30 years in the
information technology industry working with major clients in the
telecommunications, media and utilities industries.
Jaume Pujol
Jaume has over 15 years of banking experience of which the last 12 have been
dedicated to the development and financing of renewable energy downstream
developments. Jaume has Advised, Structured and Arranged the financing of a
considerable number of Renewable Energy projects in a wide range of
Geographies including Spain, Italy, Greece, S. Korea, India or Australia amongst
others. His current responsibilities as European Sector Head, allows for a more
vertical integration approach to the Renewables sector and hence for a wider
comprehension of the business.
Jouni Tolonen
Jouni Tolonen has worked in the energy company Fortum since 2007 where he is
responsible for company's wind power business development in Finland. He has
over 15 years of experience from the energy sector. Prior to joining Fortum he
has been working in the Confederation of Finnish Industries EK, Finnish Energy
Industries and in the Energy Department of the Finnish Ministry of Trade and
Industry. He graduated from the Helsinki University of Technology in 1995.

and security purposes telephone calls may be recorded.
6. Important note. While every reasonable effort will be made to adhere to the advertised package, marcus evans reserves
the right to change event dates, sites or location or omit event features, or merge the event with another event, as it deems
necessary without penalty and in such situations no refunds, part refunds or alternative offers shall be made. In the event
that marcus evans permanently cancels the event for any reason whatsoever, (including, but not limited to any force
majeure occurrence) and provided that the event is not postponed to a later date nor is merged with another event, the
Client shall receive a credit note for the amount that the Client has paid to such permanently cancelled event, valid for up
to six months to be used at another marcus evans event. No refunds, part refunds or alternative offers shall be made.
7. Governing law: This Agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the law of England and the parties
submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts in London. However, marcus evans only is entitled to waive this
right and submit to the jurisdiction of the courts in which the Client’s office is located.
8. Client hereby acknowledges that he/she specifically authorizes that marcus evans charge the credit card listed above
for the amount provided herein; that this Contract is valid, binding and enforceable; and that he/she has no basis to claim
that any payments required under this Contract at any time are improper, disputed or unauthorized in any way. Client
acknowledges that they have read and understood all terms of this contract, including, without limitation, the provisions relating
to cancellation.
