Technical Specification
1. Introduction
Our product solves many problems faced by the telecom service providers, infrastructure providers
and operation & maintenance staff.
In the telecom cell sites, there is a need to monitor the site data like EB,DG, Site alarms and Site
environment conditions for better maintenance of the sites. This site monitor collects the data from the
site and exports the same to the central server.
The system integrated with all the control and monitoring intelligence required for an advanced PMU.
2. System Architecture
3. System Objective
• Complete integrated solution for Power Management unit.
• Monitor and Control the site from Anywhere & Anytime
• Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Annual Reports
• Live SMS alerts to the maintenance staff
• Reduce Operating Expenditure
• Down time reduction
4. Block diagram
5. Enclosure
Dust proof enclosure suitable for outdoor or shelter installation.
Dimensions: 19” rack mountable. Height max: 15 cm, width: 45 cm, depth: max 15 cm.
Material: MS
Weight: less than 4Kg.
7. Environment
Working temperature ............. 0 deg. to 50 deg.
Humidity ............................... RH 0 - 95%
Cooling .............................. Natural convection.
Suitable for both Shelter and Outdoor applications.
1. Installation
System can be installed in a working cell site or new site without interrupting the BTS
communication. It can be fixed on the PMU or SMPS or Battery.
2. Input/output Connections
All connections/terminations are industrial grade, touch proof and safety approved.
All Pluggable connectors rated 300V, 10A with easy monitoring access.
System can be replaced easily in less than 5 minutes.
1. Site status can be monitored online from anywhere and anytime with internet.
2. Login and password protected access for security.
3. Site geographic location will be shown on Google maps.
4. Parameters levels shown as analog meter and digital value.
5. SMS alerts up to 5 mobile nos. (Mobile no. programmable at site / server)
6. Remote control of DG, Air Conditioners, aviation lamp and exhaust Fans.
7. Server generates automatic Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Annual MIS reports.
8. Automatic site SW updates from server.
9. Site configuration/settings can be downloaded and modified.
10. Alarm/Fault alerts in web browser with audio and Pop-up window.
• Diesel pilferage/theft can be prevented, as the DG run period and its consumptions data is
made available.
• Remote monitoring system helps to minimise the site visits.
• DG and Air conditioner run time can be minimized by the automatic / semi automatic control
of the sites.
• Battery discharge will be optimised for lower site running cost.
• Preventive maintenance schedule.
• Automatic SW Upgrades from server.
• Multiple service providers can share the operating cost with the DC Energy meter records.
• Monthly expenditure reports generated by the system – minimises the manpower
requirement and provides instant data.
• DG set, Air conditioners and Battery set performance can be analysed and energy wastage
can be minimised.

13. Controls
AMF controller
1. Automatic switching of Solar Power, Mains and Genset.
2. Intelligent controller selects the least expensive energy source.
3. Fuel will be utilised with maximum efficiency while Genset runs.
4. Day/week/month Run hour counters for all sources.
5. Energy cost calculated per Day/week/month.
Phase selector
1. Best single phase / phase pair selection.
2. Field / Remote programmable levels to suite site needs.
3. Hysteresis and validation delay for reliable operation.
Voltage regulator
1. Wide range regulator, maximum 8 taps.
2. Accurate tap selection with True RMS measurement.
3. Field / Remote Programmable tap change levels.
Other controls
1. Air conditioner controller, to control shelter temperature.
2. Exhaust Fan controller
3. Real Time Clock based Aviation lamp controller
Spare controls
1. Programmable spare controls 14 nos. for future update
AMF controller is a very advanced power source selector, minimizing the operational
expenditure on diesel fuel and commercial power.
AC Controller switches on AC only when it is really required mostly it manages with the
Exhaust fan if the ambient temperature is low. Switches on both ACs if DG is running and the
DG is under-loaded. This saves on the EB bill.
• Start the DG engine when the commercial power fails and the shelter needs ac power
( after battery capacity is used /shelter temp has gone up).
• Monitors the output of the alternator for stabilization of voltages and frequency.
• Transfer the load.
• Monitor the fuel level in the tank.
• Monitor the engine lube oil pressure, stop DG engine in case of fault.
• Monitor the DG set enclosure temperature.
• Monitors the starter battery health.
• Programmable crank attempts.
• Programmable start and stop pulse periods.
• Auto/semi auto mode operation.
• Stop DG incase Emergency or fire/smoke alarm.
15. Statistics
1) Load state period counters in a day. ( accuracy +/- 3 minutes per day)
a) EB Run hours
b) DG run hours
c) Battery mode run hours
At the end of the day the CSC sends the energy consumed/run hours by each ac/dc loads to
the server. The typical ac loads are AC1, AC2 and Power Plant. Typical DC loads are BTS-1, BTS-2,
BTS-3, and BTS-4. The same are shown in the monthly reports to cross check with the actual bills
obtained from the field.
