KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK

The Kotak Mahindra Bank was established in 2003, when Reserve Bank of India
gave permission to the Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. to open a Bank. This was
indeed momentous as it was the first time, a financial institution was permitted to
open a Bank. Kotak Mahindra Bank registered a net profit of Rs 37.25 crore for the
fourth quarter ended March 31, up by 7.26 per cent, as compared to Rs 34.73 crore
in the same period in 2006. The bank's income grew by 77.6 per cent to Rs 521.06
crore for the January-March quarter as against Rs 293.44 crore in the three month
period in 2006. Kotak Mahindra Bank has signed a memorandum with HDFC Bank to
share their Network of ATMs.
