2 will have had better understanding for listening text

WARM UP
Time: 5 min
Interaction:
T/S- S/T
What students do:
The students are asked to make some guesses about what teacher has shown
to them.
Grouping:Whole class
Aims
-To motivate the students to get to the topic
-To get the students to get involved in lesson
-to let them get information about unknown things about the
listening text

In this pre-listening part, teacher asks “what is the Eden Project”

and gets guesses from students. After she gets answers from
students, she says there is a family who wants to go there and they
try to make some plans. She asks “ do you want to learn their plans”
then, teacher leads them into the first listening.
WHILE LISTENING
Time:
10 min
Materials: Worksheet and cardboards
Interaction: T/S- S/T
What students do:
Students are given some sentences from the text, then they are asked to put
them in order
Grouping: whole class, then groups

First listening Aims

-To get the students to understand the the listening passage in general
-To get the students to have the main idea about the text

In first listening part, students are asked to put the sentences in

order according to the text. When they put them in order, they will
come to the board and try to arrange cardboards in a row. After
they finish this activity, teacher asks “which city will they go?”, Is
Katy interested in environmental studies?” while students are
thinking about these questions, the teacher says “we get a general
idea, but still we don’t know some details, let’s listen to the text
again and clear our doubts.

Second ListeningAims
-To get the students to have more specific information about the text
-To get them to undestand the text in detail

In the second listening, teacher wants students to work in

pairs. Teacher gives students a worksheet on which there are
two parts seperated. These papers includes pairs of words
seperated. While listening, students finds theirs matches, and
when they finish this part, they stand up, change their
answers with their friends’. They read their friends’ answers.

POST LISTENING
Time:5 min
Interaction: S/S
What students do:
The students are wanted to work in groups
Aims:To improve their speaking and writing skills with the help of creativity

In post listening, because they have learned “the Eden Project” is a place,
teacher wants them to prepare an advertisement for the Eden Project, and in
this advertisement students give many information about this place by using
Internet.
Teacher says “one of you will be a tourist and the others will try to persuade
him/her to go there.”

Because it is also a work related to searching on the Internet, students get

many information about “ opening times, buying tickets, food , music, dance,
shopping, events calender, Eden friendships, ice-skating, rainforest and
education centre etc….” related to the Eden Project.
In the next class, they present their work.
