• Developed research skill through creating questionnaires, implementing interviews,

PART-TIME JOB EXPERIENCE


Coach Assistant in courses
Awake Your Power Course is based on the book 7 habits of highly effective people of Stephen
Covey, with the aim of guiding the young in their career paths to attain a balanced life. It is run
every month for students from high schools and universities in HCMC, including 3-day camp
and 7-week follow up.
Breakthrough Power Corporation, 209 Hoang Van Thu, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City,
from October 2009 to present.
• Collaborated with a team of coach assistants to prepare workbooks and tools for games,
as well as conduct two games related to the content of the course in class time.

• Involved in coaching, facilitating the learning process of the program participants.

• Developed communication skills through observing the participants’ attitude and


behavior during the course, and actively listening to their sharing.

• Reported to the trainer about what I did for each student and its results. From that, critical
analyzing could be reinforced.

Coach Assistant in VAK test

VAK test is a pre-course test to find out how a student study best, i.e Visual, Auditory, or
Kinesthetic learning style. In this test, each coach assistant talks to a student about their
challenges at home and at school as well as their interests, beliefs, and habits. Then, the coach
assistant shares with that student’s parents how to encourage their children in study and life.

• Improved active listening with various ages through small talks with students and parents

• Enhanced analytical skills by figuring out what the students lack of and then what they
need during the talks.

• Developed verbal communication skills via writing report about the specific students for
other coach assistants to follow up during the official course.

RMIT VIETNAM ENVIRONMENT CLUB

Project Manager (December 2008 – April 2009)

Earth Day 2009 Event, celebrated on 18 April 2009 including a fair and a music show with
more than 400 attendants. The main task is to create and manage a fair for the audience to join
in various “green” activities.

• Developed networking skill by contacting and inviting Wildlife at Risk, Habitat for
Humanity, Asus Computer, Catridge World, VTB, and Emoto for events’ participation.
• Enhanced leadership skill through collaborating with three teammates to arrange the
booth area of the fair for those organizations.
• Researched for potential sponsors who match the “green” theme of EarthDay2009 to
enrich the database.

• Increased negotiation skill through gaining sponsorship package from Asus (Vietnam)
Technology Pte Ltd for the event as well as dealing for booth activities of this
organization.
Program Leader (October 2008 - December 2008)
Green Week, organized with the aim to encourage staff and students at RMIT Vietnam Saigon
South campus to plant trees by giving them a small tree and promising to offer a gift if they
could show their pictures with those trees three months later.
• Enhanced creative skill by brainstorming the ideas for this activity.

• Collaborated with four teammates to plan the event’s process, and schedule the booth
attending time for the club members.
• Managed the booth area by checking members’ attendance and solving problems during
that time.

COURSE RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE


Four selected courses from Bachelor of Communications, RMIT Vietnam Saigon South
Campus (June 2008 – January 2011)

• Interdisciplinary Communication Project enhanced the ability to put various sides of


communication including advertising, PR, event and so forth into a campaign and team
work as well.
 Implemented a real campaign with the aim of changing behaviors – speaking
English at RMIT Vietnam campus. Therefore, experienced the opportunity to
create real communication strategy from setting objectives, communication
message to appropriate tactics.

 Developed leadership skill via managing Marketing activities for the biggest event
of the campaign.
 Brainstormed lots of ideas such as freezing activity to catch attention from RMIT
students and other ones to create Word-of-mouth effect among them. From that,
reinforced problem-solving, creativity, and working in team skills.

 Improved the ability to work under pressure and to cooperate closely with others
to obtain the goals.
• Client Management Course focuses on the basic principles of account management and
how to develop an environment of trust, respect and partnership with clients.

 Improved research and analytical skills through the assignments of research report
and case study analysis for Extra Joss energy drink to be launched in Vietnam
market.
 Enhanced communications skills, especially interacting with clients through class
activities such as briefing role-play, reporting, cost-estimating dealing, orally
presenting and so forth.

• Strategic Public Relations Planning Course gives students insight into how PR
planning practically sits within broader organizational planning, such as marketing
strategy and more broadly-based organizational one.

 Developed research skill and critical thinking when analyzing scenarios and
current affairs within the context of PR theory and models.
 Improved the skill of oral presentation without visual aids to discuss how strategic
public relations might have been used in managing communication of a selected
organization.
 Enhanced creative skills when doing the whole strategic plan for LIN Center to
attract more skilled volunteers with very limited budget.

• Introduction to Advertising Course provides students basic knowledge about


advertising industry, its role in the economy and society, and key principles underpinning
the operations of the industry.

 Increased briefing, research, and analytical skills while developing creative brief
for Wilkinson Intuition Plus razor and then its advertising strategy and media plan
for this brand based on that creative brief.
 Enhanced observation and analytical skills when investigating the target audience
for a chosen product on an advertisement.
