I woke up surprised at my random dream.

This particular dream went back to when

Colin and I first met. I was eighteen years old at the time and was just watchin
g tele, you know your usual Liverpool match. If I remember rightly it was the ma
tch where Liverpool went against AC Milan, despite it being 3-0 at half time I s
till had hope that they'd be able to make a comeback in the second half. My Dad
didn't though, he thought it was all over. Anyway, my Brother came back to watch
the second half and he brought a friend with him. That friend turned out to be
Colin. During the second half, he noticed how my eyes were fixated on the screen
, so he leaned in close and asked: "I guess you like football then?" When he sai
d that I turned to him to see a small smile on his face. "Yeah, do you?" I asked
him the question in return to sound polite.
"It's alright. I'd rather play it though, that's a lot more fun."
"Yeah, I know what you mean. I'd rather play it than watch it too, but soemtimes
you can see a good game."
"So... Do you play for a team?"
"Yeah, I play for Liverpool reserves at the moment, but I'm hoping within the ne
xt two years that I'd be able to make my way up to the first team." I explain to
him hopefully. And as I say that Gerrard scores a goal and everyone in the hous
e starts jumping up and down happily. When everyone calms down my Father looks t
owards me. "Don't get your hopes up too much, we are still losing 3-1." He tells
me and I just rolll my eyes, he really needs to be more optimistic. "Well, I th
ink you'll be able to get into the first team, easy." Colin smiled at me and I c
ouldn't help but smile back. "You really think so?"
"I know so." He told me and when he said that my heart was beating ever so quick
ly. Yes, you guessed it! I developed a teenage crush on Colin. It was then that
Smicer scored the second goal for Liverpool. "YES!" We all shouted and Colin and
I jumped and hugged one another. At the time I really enjoyed being so close to
him. I looked towards my Dad to see he still seemed wary, despite that Liverpoo
l are only losing 3-2 now. And before Colin and I could talk anymore Liverpool w
as awarded a penalty and everyone's eyes were on the screen. Xabi Alonso shall t
ake the penalty. The whistle blows and he takes his shot, oh no he's missed! How
ever, he then gets on to the rebound and scores!!! And finally my Dad is at his
happiest, the most optimistic I've ever seen him! And Colin's arms are around me
, which makes me so happy.
Time went on and Liverpool won the match on penalties and Colin and I realised t
hat we got on really well. After that match Colin and I became good friends and
he very rarely hanged out with my Brother. It was a year later that I told Colin
of my feelings for him and he said to me that he just sees me as a friend. When
he said that I was heart broken, truly gutted. It took a lot of time, but I soo
n got over it. And now I'm just pleased that I've got a trustworthy friend.
It was then that I received a text from Fernando, so I crawled out of Colin's ar
ms and looked at the text.
Look outside. Xxx
Ok, that's weird. I've never known Fernando to send me these cryptic messages. I
grab a dressing gown to put over my pyjamas and I found some slippers too. I wa
lk down the stairs and open the door to see Fernando standing in front of a car.
A Mercedes benz to be exact. "Fernando, what's going on?" I asked curiously.
"Look, I know that I said I'd fix your Peugeot, which I have but I thought you m
ight like a better car." He explained whilst gesturing towards the Mercedes Benz
.
"Fernando, I can't accept that."
"Please, look it can be your birthday present if you like, but I'd like you to h
ave it."
"It's a very expensive birthday present." I sigh.
"I think you deserve it." He tells me. "As for your peugeot, since you never acc
ept money off me I thought I might sell it and give you the money you get for th
at car."
"You don't have to do that."
"I want too." He tells me.
"Thank you." I then lean into hug him and he gives me a gentle hug and softly ru
ns his hand up and down my back. I swear I saw a flash of light from the corner
of my eye, but just assumed it was nothing. "So what do you think of Olalla?" He
asked me hopefully.
"Umm... We didn't get off on the right foot last night, but if you give me her n
umber then I'll give her a call and make it up with her."
"Ok." He says and I hand him my phone, where he types the number in. "Oh and by
the way, Rafa has left Liverpool. Just thought I should let you know before you
find out on the news."
"Thanks."
"No problem. Right, I best get going. Are you coming to our UEFA Cup match in a
couple of weeks?" He asks me.
"I wouldn't miss it." I smile.
"Just so you know I won't be playing because I'm injured."
"Really? You did so good at running the other day."
"Yeah, I wasn't running as fast as I should be then but anyway the point is I'm
not at match fitness yet."
"Well, I hope you will be by the start of the Premiership season." I say to him
and he smiles at me.
"Right, see you Stacey."
"Bye." I smile and watch him get into his car and drive away.
After that I go into my home and call up Olalla immediately. She asnwers on the
third ring. "Hi Olalla, it's me Stacey." I say to her somewhat awkwardly.
"Oh, what do you want?" I can tell she really didn't want this phone call from t
he tone of her voice. "Look, i want to apologise if you feel that I'm sort of je
opardising yours and Fernando's relationship. I want to tell you now though that
nothing is going on and nothing will ever go on. We've been friends for three y
ears now and I'm not going to ruin that friendship. And you mentioned that he's
talked quite a bit about me, well, that's because we've hanged out a lot over th
e last three years, as friends, nothng more than that." I tried to explain as be
st I could. "Ok, sorry I guess. I didn't mean to have a go at you, just Fernando
talks about you a lot on dates and well, I can't help but get jealous." She exp
lains to me and I begin to feel quite bad for her. It's not her fault that she's
jealous, Fernando should obviously talk about me less! "Look, I'll talk to him,
I'll say something like talking about a friend constantly on a date is a mood k
iller." She laughs when I say this. "And if it helps, he's talked to me a bit ab
out you."
"Really? What's he siad?"
"Well, I'll leave it for you to find out, but it's all good. I can assure you."
"Ok, thanks Stacey. I really appreciate all that." She replies.
"That's ok, well I've got to go. Bye."
"Bye." Well that was a lot easier than I expected. As I entered my room I notice
d that Colin was rushing. He was really trying to get back into his suit as quic
kly as possible. "I'm late." He tells me, he then deals with his laces, walks ov
er to me and gently presses his lips to my cheek. "Right, I've got to go." He te
lls me.
"Ok, bye."
"I'll see you." He replies and leaves my room followed by leaving the house. And
now I'm all alone. Great!
Two Weeks Later:
Two weeks have passed and Liverpool have a new manager in the form of Roy Hodgso
n. And today is the match against FK Rabotnicki. For this game the new manager h
as chosen a very weak team. A team that are mainly made up of reserves. I mean,
you've got Spearing and Kelly playing, they are good players. Don't get me wrong
. They need a bit more experience though, however, I'll respect the managers dec
ision since bringing in some reserves helps them for the future. However, there
are some first team players like Agger, Lucas and Skrtel. Except, to be honest w
ith you I'm not a very big fan of Lucas. Anyway, now I'm in Liverpool's car park
with the players that will be playing today and some that will not be playing.
I notice Jamie, Steven and Fernando talking, so go to join them.
I stand next to Fernando and see that they are caught up in the middle of a bet.
"What's the score going to be lads?" Steven asks in his typical scouser accent.
"One nil." Fernando replies.
"Two nil." Jamie says.
"Three nil." Steven bets and I'm just thinking, trust Mr Gerrard to be Oh-So opt
imistic. They all turn to me and I decide to go with Jamie. "Two nil." I reply,
if I'm right, then Jamie is very good at things like this and he'll help me win.
"Ok." Steven says. "Whoever loses gets there's clothes taken to the girls chang
ing room in training and that person must go and retrieve them." He pauses. "The
same goes for you Stacey but you must come to our changing room." My cheeks tur
n to a brighter shade of red. Oh please don't let Jamie be wrong! I'll die if I
have to go in there practically naked! No! This is why you should never bet. I'm
sure I'll be able to wear a towel. Ok, just keep thinking like that. I get on t
he bus and take a random seat. Steven sits next to me and Jamie and Fernando sit
behind me.
Steven gently nudges me with his arm. "So would you like some advice to pull Fer
nando back there." I look behind to see that Fernando is listening to music on h
is MP3 very loud. And Jamie sees me looking so gives me a goofy smile and waves.
I return his wave with a little awkward wave of my own. "Not really." I reply.
"Despite that though you're probably going to tell me anyway."
"Of course I am." He pauses. "Would you like to know how I got with Alex?"
"I already know, I've read your autobiography," I laugh, but he just carries on
anyway.
"You see she isn't your typical footballer's wife. Oh No!" Ok he said Oh No very
dramatically! "A lot of woman get with these footballers for fame and money. So
anyway, I kept asking her out and she turned me down over and over again. I eve
n got my friend to ask her for me and she told him that I should ask her to her
face. So I did that and she said no."
"Ok, I'm not getting you." I replied scared.
"Well, you see. I never gave up and finally she went out with me and now we are
married. It took a lot of times but I got there in the end. And what's great abo
ut her is she likes to earn her own money too. She is a fashion journalist." He
explains to me and smiles.
"Ok, so how does this story help me get with Fernando, despite the fact that I d
on't want to?" I ask and he sighs loudly.
"Basically, you must keep asking him out. He may say no a lot of times, but afte
r a while I'm sure he'll say yes."
"Ok Steven, I appreciate your help. However, there are a few problems. One, Fern
ando has a girlfriend. Two, I don't fancy him. Three, he don't fancy me." I expl
ain and raise both my eyebrows at him. "Ok..." Steven prolongs that word. "First
ly, him and Olalla haven't been together very long. Secondly, what do you mean y
ou don't fancy him? Are you gay?"
"Are you?" I ask him and he just rolls his eyes.
"Thirdly, Fernando does fancy you. He talks about you way too much!" Is that a g
ood thing?
"Look, Cupid. It's not going to happen. There's only one football player I'm int
erested in and he's married."
"Oh..." Steven pauses. "Is that football player me?" He asks me somewhat optimis
tically, probably hoping that he's still got his mojo!
"No!" I say ever so shocked.
"Is it Jamie?" He whispers in my ear and I turn to look at Jamie who still has t
hat smile on his face. "Daniel Agger." I reply to him.
"Oh... I see... Don't worry my lips are sealed." He tells me and then for the re
st of the journey we are both very quiet. Trust me to get the third degree off t
he Liverpool captain!
The journey soon ends and it's soon time for the match. I'm out in the stadium w
atching them play. Liverpool are doing very well, keeping posession and getting
quite a few shots. As the game goes on we score a goal, thanks to N'Gog. "Yes!"
Steven, Jamie, Fernando and I shout simultaneously. We then keep jumping up and
down, I throw my arms around Fernando and he does the same. "Were winning." I sa
y and as we seperate, we stop and look at one another. My arms are still around
him and his are still around me. "You can sit down now guys." Jamie says to us a
nd I suddenly realise what I'm doing. "Yeah, what am I doing?" I ask and take my
arms from around Fernando and he does the same. We both then sit down and I not
ice Steven and Jamie giggling. Great, I've just given them more ammo against me!
We watch the game all the way through and it ends 2-0. I love N'gog for the two
goals he scored! Thankfully I've won the bet, which means that Fernando and Stev
en have lost so I imagine they'll be running into the girls changing room practi
cally naked. The other girls are going to go crazy! Especially as half the team
fancies Fernando and the other half fancy Gerrard! Sometimes I swear I'm the onl
y neutral person.
After a while we arrive back at Anfield stadium. I straight away get into my Mer
cedes Benz. And since its the early hours of the morning I quickly buy today's p
aper.
When I arrive home, I take a quick glance at the picture and look on shocked. On
the front cover is me and Torres having a hug and the headline says: NOT ANOTHE
R PREMIERSHIP CHEAT!!!
Oh Boy! Olalla is not going to be happy when she reads this. And I think I'm goi
ng to be far from happy once I read the actual story. Trust the newspaper to mak
e up more crap! And once again the Liverpool lads will have even more ammo on us
. I should really call Fernando. I dial his number and he answers straight away.
"Hello?"
"Fernando, you really need to come here quick."
"I'm on my way." He explains and hangs up. How is he going to react when he sees
this story?!
