Special Meeting of LMOA Members: The Board has set a special meeting of LMOA members for Sat., April 2, to vote on
whether to use $700,000 from the principal of the Emergency Reserve Account (ERA) from the sale of the LM Service Co. to make
major, state-mandated repairs to community dams. A Notice of Special Member Meeting will be mailed to property owners on or about
March 2. The Notice will include the proposal and a Board statement on the proposal, which will describe the pros and cons of
withdrawing from the ERA principal or using other funding sources. A proxy, a proxy authorization form and a return envelope will be
included for voting in advance of the meeting. Members who prefer may vote by ballot at the meeting on Apr. 2. (This special meeting
of members does not affect the annual meeting of members, which will be held in June.)

Learn What It Means to Be a Director: “This Week at the Lake,” the locally produced news and information program on
LMOA cable channel 10(977), will present “What It Means to Be a Director,” beginning Feb. 3. President Scott Meiss will lead an in-
studio discussion with outgoing and former directors, who will share their experiences on the Board and talk about the rewards of
community service. President Meiss is asking members to submit questions for the panel to answer during the broadcast. Send
questions by Jan. 26 to palexander@lmoa.org or bring or send them to the Administration Office, marked to the attention of Peggy
Alexander. The program will be broadcast live on channel 10(977) at 7PM on Thurs., Feb. 3, and be repeated at 9AM and 7PM daily
through Wed. morning, Feb. 9.

Make This Your Year: If you’ve ever considered running for the LMOA Board of Directors, make this your year. There will be
three vacancies on the seven-member Board in June. At least four candidates are needed to provide choices for the member vote.
Candidates must complete the LMOA petition process, which begins in early February. The target for petition packets to be ready for
pick up by potential candidates is Wed., Feb. 2. For more information, contact Communications Manager Peggy Alexander at 589-
8263, ext. 111, or palexander@lmoa.org.
The Board is the governing body of the owners’ association and the community. Directors make the big and small decisions that
determine the standard of care for the community and the quality of life for 14,000 residents.
