Section 1 Safety Precautions
1.1 SAFETY
Strict adherence to these procedures and safety precautions is required of the Driver and all gas
Terminalling personnel’s.
If unloading area is occupied, the next truck must stay outside the gas area until the
unloading area is clear.
All drivers are expected to wear the following when unloading at Gas Terminalling
terminals:
− Safety Glasses (with side shields)
− Hard Hat
− Long sleeved flame retardant clothing or Coveralls
− Leather work boots or shoes
− Hearing protection (as needed during an emergency situation)
The Driver should maintain awareness of the terminal surroundings at all times. Report
any unfamiliar or unusual sights, noises or mechanical malfunctions to Gas Terminalling
personnel.
In the event of an uncontrolled product release or any emergency situation, the Driver
should follow the Emergency Procedures as stated by Gas Terminalling
Under no circumstances should the Driver attempt to start the truck and move the truck
in an emergency situation without the expressed direction of Gas Terminalling
personnel.
1.2 ACCIDENTS/INCIDENTS
Any accident/incident occurring on Gas Terminalling facility that results in personal injury or
damage to the facility must be reported to Gas Terminalling personnel before a driver leaves the
property.

Section 2 Truck Entry Procedure
4. Shut off engine and all electrical devices if leaving the truck unattended prior to
unloading
5. If bay is occupied wait until bay is completely clear. Drive SLOWLY to bay
6. As soon as the truck enters the bay, IMMEDIATLY shut off engine, lights and ignition
and set parking brakes. DO NOT LEAVE ENGINE RUNNING.
7. Visual inspect and ensure the outlet valves are not leaking prior to unloading
If truck will not start after unloading, DO NOT JUMP START AT THE RACK. The truck must be
towed, NOT PUSHED, at least 100feet from the unloading area before any work may be
performed on it.

Gas Terminalling has ensured that all our plants operate same unloading instructions. Refer
site-specific information in addition to the following:
1. Plant Supervisor receive truck at plant
2. Truck positions on a level ground and its allowed to settle for at least 30 minutes during
which seal plant supervisor confirms “waybill” number, tank rotor/percentage gauge, and
rubber seal number against waybill figures
7. Commence discharge
8. Plant supervisor confirms if truck is empty by opening the discharge release valve.
14. Plant supervisor re-confirms truck is empty by reading percentage/rotor gauge and vent
truck
NOTE: Driver shall remain at the unloading bay at all times to monitor the unloading process
WARNING: Drivers are responsible to preventing product releases. Truck valve(s) should be
used to shut off product in the event of a release, regardless of the cause
