AGENDA

Meeting Objectives:
1) To support the ongoing development of a learning community among meeting participants.
2) To support progress toward the successful development of Community Action Plans.
a. Discuss expectations for Community Action Plans.
b. Build a shared definition and vision of policy and systems change and explore planning
processes for identifying change strategies.
c. Share collaborative structures and planning strategies to develop Community Action
Plans.
3) Introduce the concept of framing to support shaping public discourse on Food & Fitness issues.
4) Provide updates on a range of topics including technical assistance, evaluation, and grants
management.

10:00 - 1:00 What’s possible: The intersection of Policy, Advocacy, Ocean Point
and Systems Change
An interactive session to explore concepts and planning processes related to policy, advocacy, and
systems change.

1. Good Financial Management Practices: An auditor from the WKK Foundation will discuss
issues related to good financial management practices. (Ocean Point)
2. Evaluation: An update on the national and cross-site evaluation plans. (Atlantic Point)
3. WKKF activities: A WKKF update on (A) national F&F initiative activities, (B) convergence,
and (C) strategic planning process within the Foundation. (Veranda)
4. Systems Thinking/Organizational Learning Deeper Dive: An opportunity for follow-up
discussion related to the systems thinking/organizational learning training provided by WKKF.

A workshop on framing and reframing the public discourse to address social issues, especially as it
pertains to those of the Food & Fitness Initiative.
