roots. He is a product of both Beverly Vista and Hawthorne elementary schools and gradu ated from Beverly Hill High School in 1981. While completing an undergraduate program in mathematics at UCLA, Libow attained a real estate license on a whim as he was uncertain as to his specific career choice at the time; but, knew that he was no t terribly passionate about becoming a rocket scientist. Beginning on a part-time basis in 1985, michael libow realized that he had found a career which utilized his business ac umen, social skills, and sense of humor. Twenty five years later, he still calls himself “the h ardest working man in real estate” and continues to successfully justify his work ethic a t Coldwell Banker in Beverly Hills. In 1998, Libow was ready to make his first home purchase in Beverly Hills and op ted for one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. . .The Witch’s House. With an extensi ve ground-up remodel and expansion coming to completion, Libow is ecstatic about be ing able to live in and allow residents to enjoy his creation on Walden Drive which combines elements of Antoni Gaudi of Barcelona (Spain) with storybook stylings. Michael Libow is an active supporter of Beverly Hills’ peerless police and fire departments as well as that of the city’s preeminent educational and social servic es. BHEF and The Maple Counseling Center are among those that he champions. Libow’s philanthropy extends well beyond the barriers of our city, benefits many, and is generally performed without much personal fanfare. For many years, Libow has funded an ann ual college scholarship for high achieving students at Beverly Hills High School. In 2008, Libow dedicated a Math Lab in his name at the new Science and Technology Center at Beverly Hills High School. The high profile of this naming aside, Libow is co ntent in knowing that he can and will continue to give back to a community which has g iven much to him. Beyond the enormous amounts of time dedicated to his business, Michael Libow has found a necessary creative outlet through his sense of musicality. As a natural ‘l yric baritone’ vocalist, he opted to join a classic rock cover band in 2008 named Rod Lightning & The Thunderbolts of Love in order to be able to perform as their lea d singer in public venues. The band has played charitable and corporate gigs over the pas t two years culminating with its largest crowd to date in October of 2010 at Beverly H ills High School for the annual Apple Harvest Faire supporting the Beverly Hills Educ ation Foundation.
