Chapter 1

PAIN IS THE DOORWAY TO

THE KINGDOM

…We must through many tribulations enter the

kingdom of God. Acts 14:22

1
No pain, no palm; no thorns, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross,
no crown.
[No Cross, No Crown (1669)]1 PENN, William (1644–1718)

As we say today, “no pain no gain!!!”

While we are on earth we will experience pain. Yet one day when we
are in heaven we will be free from sorrow, crying and pain He will
wipe every tear from our eyes as we will be totally healed and
completed in Him.

How do we cope and deal with pain in this world as the whole earth is
groaning in pain until Jesus is revealed and restores all things to
Himself. The pain and sorrow of the earth will only increase the closer
we come to Jesus’ return. These are the labour pains. Every Christian
will need to know, how to not only cope, but overcome our pain. In
order to survive the battle we are facing. We are called to pain and
through pain. The more we understand what God is trying to do in us
and through the easier, the yoke will be. We are on this journey,
which is started with pain and ends with glory. We are on our way
back to the garden where Adam and Eve lost our inheritance. We will
recover all if we don’t give up!

Only when we more fully understand pain our pain and others pain
will we be able to overcome pain in our lives.

To understand all pain we need to go back to where all pain came

from.

When we sinned against God in the garden and went our own way
this caused both our Father deep pain and all of mankind to suffer
untold pain and grief. When sin entered the world so did death and
sickness and poverty.

Most of our sin is rooted in our pain. As we seek to relieve our

own pain.

We need to look to the Lord to overcome this deep pain that we have.
Only Fathers unconditional love can heal us of this terrible pain we
carry.

The purpose of pain

1. Pain itself is not bad it has a purpose. Pain shows there is a

problem. Without pain in our bodies we would destroy our
bodies without knowing what we are doing. The pain shows us
that our bodies are having trouble in some area. Pain in our
emotions shows we are wounded in some area and if not
treated and healed will be a breeding ground for demonic
activities.

Chapter 2

What causes all the pain?

“Nothing causes mankind more pain than our separation

from God”

6
1. Separation from God
Separation from God causes all the pain on the earth. We
were created to abide in our Fathers love and dwelling in
His presence. We are created to dwell in perfect peace,
joy and love. We were created to dwell within another
kingdom. This Kingdom is called the Kingdom of heaven.

We are not created to be bombarded with evil from

morning till evening. Because we are born within a war,
we have tried to make our own heaven on earth.

Once we have been separated from our creator’s

presence, we are confused and tormented with fear. This
pain motivates us into all kinds of distractions. Together
with satan we have invented every form of comfort from
religion to prostitution, to ease our pain. We are running
from our pain, always seeking safe harbour in every place
but the Lords rest. This rest is His presence. Yet it will
cause us a great deal of pain to enter His rest and abide
in his rest. The Kingdom of heaven suffers violence yet
the violent will take it by force. The force is not fleshly
force. This violence is to deny self and taking up our
crosses to follow our King. As we do this we enter His
realm of peace and joy. This realm is called the Kingdom
of Heaven. We can enter this realm now.
This is our call, to inherit this wonderful Kingdom. Yet, to
enter and abide in this Kingdom we need to lay down the
kingdoms of the world. Lust of flesh, lust of the eyes and
pride of life. When we do this and follow Jesus we enter

7
into His eternal realm of love and peace and rest. The
dwelling place of His presence.

This Kingdom is within us. It is not based on the externals

of life. The food you eat, the clothes you wear, the house
you live in, but it is solely dependent upon Jesus ruling
everything in this Kingdom. He rules completely through
righteousness, peace and joy. This is our mission to live
in this realm of the Kingdom of God with our redeemer
King who rides the white horse. He is the Prince of Peace,
Sar Shalom!!! We are His beloved and He is the lover of
our soul. This is the Kingdom, which we lost when Adam
sinned in the garden. We are no on our way back to the
garden, every Christian is called to this garden of rest.
Hebrews 3:7-19; 4:1-16; 6:19.

2. Sin
Sin causes great pain. The terrible guilt and shame that
man carries is the pain caused by separation from God.
Jesus through the work of the cross, conquered sin. When
Adam sinned he was now afraid of God and hid from Him.
So too many are hiding in their pain of their shame.

I said, “LORD, be merciful to me; Heal my soul, for I

have sinned against You.” Psalm 41:4
David needed healing for his soul after he sinned. We also
need healing after we have sinned. Every time we sin we

8
sin against our own souls. The first things that happens
when we sin, is that our soul is cut off from the presence
of the Lord. Once this happens our souls is in pain like a
baby who is separated from their mother comfort and
touch. Secondly our soul is now defiled by the sin like dirt
on a clean sheet our souls are soiled. If we continue to do
this, our souls will so infected with the sin. That sin will
now rule our soul like cancer cells ruling over a body. This
will eventually result in death. The wages of sin is death.
This sin ravages its victims all across the earth and even
within the Church.

The only way to be healed and restored is to repent and

return to His presence and washing of the water of the
word. Jesus has overcome the consequence and power of
sin for us so that we can rule over it.

When we sin not only does it cause us pain but most of

the time it will cause pain to others. As Adam sin affected
the whole human race, so our sin will touch those around
us. Unfortunately, I have caused much pain by not
walking in righteousness. However, He has forgiven me
and will even help restore much of the damage of I have
done by His love and grace.

3. Betrayal and rejection

Betrayal
This is one of satan’s most destructive weapons. It is
designed to totally destroy the person being betrayed.

9
Only a close friend can betray us. The closer the person is
the more painful the betrayal. The closer the person is to
us the more pain is caused. The most infamous betrayer
of all was Judas. Jesus overcame this betrayal by loving
Judas unconditionally and even called him friend when he
cam to betray him. What great love that was.

Many people think denial is betrayal. These two sins are

totally different the rest of the disciples denied Jesus, yet
only Judas betrayed him. Betrayal is where we slander
and or attack our brothers behind their back. When
betrayal matures it will even betray us to our very faces.
Betrayal will always start in the heart of someone who is
offended at us. If they don’t forgive us they will end up
speaking about us behind our back and eventually
attacking us directly or indirectly. This all happens
because there is no real godly love. Love does not get
offended. Love will never betray us, no matter what we
have done. The person who betrays a friend does so to
ease their own pain caused by the offence.

One of the Key issues as are in the last days is betrayal.

Jesus warned us.

And then many will be offended, will betray one

another, and will hate one another. Matthew 24:10

Rejection:

10
Although rejection is not a painful as betrayal it is still
very painful Jesus disciples all reject/ denied Him. We
have all been rejected at some time. This causes
tremendous pain as we were created for love and
acceptance so when we are rejected for some reason we
are severely wounded.

Our gratitude to most benefactors is the same as our

feeling for dentists who have pulled our teeth. We
acknowledge the good they have done and the evil from
which they have delivered us, but we remember the pain
they occasioned and do not love them very much.
CHAMFORT, Nicolas (1741–1794)

4. Love deficits.
Love deficits are areas in our soul where Fathers love has
not been poured in. Most people grow up in some form of
broken home and end up with many broken relationships.
All these wounds cause a huge amount of pain. These
wounds are our love deficits. Where we needed love we
got accused, abused or rejected.

When we don know Fathers love we have gaps in our

heart that cry out to be filled with Him. Only can satisfy
this deep yearning and pain we all have. The only place
that will satisfy is the garden if intimacy eating from the
tree of Fathers unconditional love.

5. Fear of man and circumstances.

11
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out
fear, because fear involves torment. But he who
fears has not been made perfect in love.1John 4:18

Fear involves torment, torment is extremely painful. We

are created to live by faith and love. When we are afraid
its causes pain as fear is a disease of the soul which
needs to cast out. Once we are healed from this fear we
are free to love and trust God and even love our enemies.
One of the greatest bondages on earth is fear. The
enemies main weapon is fear. To the degree that we are
afraid of people and things, to that degree we are in pain
and bondage. In order to be true overcomers we will need
to overcome fear at this time.

6. Wounds of war and tribulations

Physical attacks sickness etc. All causes pain which is sent
to distract us from the Lord.
Bad things will happen. We don’t always understand why.
The question is, what are going to do when it comes to
us?

Loosing a loved one, going bankrupt, going through a

divorce all cause great pain. This is all part of Gods
training for us, to reign as kings in this life. To reign as
kings means we will rule in life through Christ. This
means we will not get discouraged no matter what
happens, for God is our hope and trust. He is our all and
in all. He will teach us learn through our deepest pain and
overcome through His Love.

12
7. Birthing Gods will and purpose for your life.
One of the greatest pains to human nature is the pain of
a new idea. Bagehot, Walter (1826–1877).

Growing causes pain. No one on earth is exempt from the

pain of life. The only real difference is how we handle the
pain we are allowed to go through. As we grow spiritually
and Christ is maturing in our life this causes great pain to
our outward man as it has to die daily. As we deny our
selves.

All birthing causes pain: Any ministry or godly vision that

is to be birthed will cause pain the greater the ministry
the greater the pain. The pain is like the seed dying but
once the baby is born the pain is forgotten.

A woman, when she gives birth to a child, has grief

(anguish, agony) because her time has come. But
when she has delivered the child, she no longer
remembers her pain (trouble, anguish) because she
is so glad that a man (a child, a human being) has
been born into the world. So for the present you are
also in sorrow (in distress and depressed); but I
will see you again and [then] your hearts will
rejoice, and no one can take from you your joy
(gladness, delight). And when that time comes, you
will ask nothing of Me [you will need to ask Me no
questions]. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you,

13
that My Father will grant you whatever you ask in
My Name [as presenting all that I AM]. John 16:21-
23 AMP

Joseph had a dream of greatness. This dream cost him

his family. His brothers became jealous of the godly
vision he had. God used this jealousy to get Joseph in
position to show him favour. If we have everything and
we don’t have any problems then why do we need His
favour and grace. Father will lead us into places where we
can only look to Him. He begins where we end -- We die,
He lives.
God allowed this to happen to Joseph in order to mould
him and prepare him to rule one day. He had to learn to
forgive his brothers before he could be exalted. Those
who have thrown us into the pit are the very ones God
has called us to help. Yet, what they mean for evil God
means for good. This is the path of the end time Josephs.

Every godly vision/dream will come to a place of death,

when it seems like everything God has told you is going
in the exact opposite direction to what He said. Hope
deferred makes the heart grow sick. As we reach this
place of almost loosing our hope, tremendous
discouragement attacks us. We are now in great pain and
in very real danger of giving up on the heavenly vision.
This is when we die and He lives. A bruised reed He will
not break. If we call on His name in our pain He comes
and heals us. Only if we don’t loose our hope in Him.

14
1 Chron 4:9-10. The great prayer of Jabez was birthed in
pain. Jabez name in Hebrew means pain. His mother bore
him in pain and called his name pain. When he prayed
that great prayer it was so that he would cause no more
pain. He obviously felt guilty for causing his mother pain.
The birthing of anything godly causes pain.

8. Godly pain versus worldly pain.

Conviction of sin brings pain to our souls

When we are convicted by the word and the Holy Spirit

concerning sin, this gives us pain. The pain shows us
there is a problem. This type of pain is very good for us.
Like the pain you feel in your hand when you put it on a
hot stove. This pain will save you burning your hand
severely. As soon as you feel pain, you know there is a
problem. The natural instinct when people here the
convicting word of God is to draw away or close their
ears. The pain might go away but the problem that is
casing the pain wont. We need to be very thankful to the
Lord for the pain in our lives. We know there is problem,
if there is pain, now we can at least face it and deal with
it head on.

Now when they heard this, they were cut to the

heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the
apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one
of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for

15
the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift
of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:37-38

Godly sorrow/pain leads us to repentance. Godly

sorrow brings forth good fruit.

For even if I made you sorry with my letter, I do not

regret it; though I did regret it. For I perceive that
the same epistle made you sorry, though only for a
9
while. Now I rejoice, not that you were made
sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For
you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you
10
might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly
sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation,
not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world
produces death.
For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a
godly manner: What diligence it produced in you,
what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what
fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what
vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to
be clear in this matter. 2 Corinthians 7:8-11

The word pain used here means: sorrow, pain, grief,

annoyance, affliction, pain of mourning.

Godly sorrow is Gods goodness to us when we are in sin,

to bring about true brokenness and sorrow over our sin.
This sorrow leads us to repent and turn from our sin.
Godly sorrow leads us into Father’s arms of love and

16
results great refreshing in His presence, giving us joy and
peace in our souls. This peace and joy comes from the
restoration of our fellowship with Him. Acts 3:19
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins
may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may
come from the presence of the Lord”

Brokenness causes pain

Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has

torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He
will bind us up. Hosea 6:1

To be broken by God causes us great pain. This pain is

designed to show us our strongholds and even break the
strongholds as we go through the fire of the pain. This is
why we go through trials, they are meant to purify us. We
should say like Job “though You slay me, yet I will trust in
You.” We must trust in His love that He always does the
best for us.

Worldly sorrow /grief brings death

Sorrow from the world, is the pain and sorrow we feel
when we experience something that releases grief within
our hearts. This type of pain happens, when people reject
us, or are separated from us, or a person dies, or we
have lack, or we fail at something etc. The enemy seeks
to come into our souls with a spirit of sorrow and grief.
We now embrace the spirit of grief and sorrow and not
the Lord. Worldly sorrow does not lead us to repent and

17
come closer to God; but leads us into some form of
worldly comfort for the pain. Some of the comforts of the
world are anger, offence, fear, rejection, lust and
depression. Worldly sorrow now gets us to focus on our
pain and fall into the pitfalls of pain. The result of
following this path is sorrow, grief, depression, confusion,
bitterness and even more pain and death which is
separation from God. Any feeling that separates us from
our Father in Heaven is not from Him. Godly sorrow leads
us to God, worldly sorrow leads us away from Him.

We must remember that it is the enemy who is trying to

cause us pain all the time. He is focused on our pain and
wants to hurt us every day in order to hurt God whom he
hates. The enemy uses pain to turn people away from the
Lord towards a path of death. The only release from all
the pain the demons have, is to cause others pain and
see others suffer. This is also true for those who are
overtaken by demons and who want vengeance when
someone has hurt them. Gods love does not want to see
others suffer, but instead, wants to see them forgiven by
His mercy and restored to fellowship with Him.

Anytime we have the feeling of sorrow or pain, we need

to bring it the Lord and discern where it comes from, as
we should do with all our feelings. If it draws us to the
Lord into His presence and helps us to focus on His love
then it is from Him. If it draws us away from Him and
gets us to focus on the person or situation and our own
pain then it is demonic.

18
Submit to God
To overcome worldly sorrow we must simply submit to
Gods love that says, Surely He has borne our
griefs And carried our sorrows…” Isaiah 53:4. We
need to understand and have a revelation that Jesus paid
for all our pain and grief, and that we don’t have to carry
it anymore. The devil will tell you are suffering for Christ
when in actual fact we are not accepting our full
salvation. Just as He suffered for our sin and sicknesses,
so that we don’t have to suffer death and sickness; so he
also took all our pains and grief. He came to save us from
our grief and pain and heal the broken hearted. We must
believe this now, and ask Him to heal our hearts from all
the pain and grief in our hearts. We need to repent for
allowing the enemy to deceive us into believe that this
pain and grief was from the Lord. When pain or grief
comes our way, instead of embracing the pain and grief
or even running from it we need to surrender it to the
Lord as He took it all for us and run and embrace Jesus.
You can come to the wonderful Helper the Holy Spirit and
as Him for His comfort for the pain that you feel. Allow
Him to heal your broken hearts and pour the ointment of
His unconditional love into your wounds. It is very
important to know that He does not want you to keep the
pain, but wants you to surrender it to Him, as Jesus took
all your pain at the cross. The Holy Spirit is the Helper
and the Spirit of truth, Who helps us to know and receive
our inheritance that Jesus paid for at the cross.

19
Resist the devil

Do you believe this? If you believe this word, then you

can move onto the next step in James 4:7 which says,
resist the devil! The first step is always the same, submit
to God. Submitting to God means we must believe His
word and come to Him and obey His word.
Jesus wants us to now bind up, resist and rebuke this
demon of sorrow and grief in the Name of Jesus and ask
the Lord for His love and joy and comfort. We do not have
to accept worldly sorrow as it is not part of our
inheritance and neither is it one for the nine fruit of the
Holy Spirit. He has promised us joy and peace. The spirit
of grief and sorrow comes to rob us of our joy and peace.
Godly sorrow always leads us to a change of heart and
this always brings forth joy and peace. Once we have
resisted the enemy and bound him up, we must now
loose Gods love, peace, joy and comfort into our hearts
and houses.

Weeping with those who weep, causes us pain

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with

those who weep - Romans 12:15
We are taught by the Lord to weep with those who weep
and rejoice with those who rejoice. A true friend will lay
their lives down for a friend. True love will cost us our
lives. When we see someone in pain we need to love
them. Love suffers long and bears the burdens of the

20
week. When we see someone suffering the Lords heart is
touched with their pain and He weeps for them through
us. We can enter there pain and weep with them and
comfort them with the compassion and of Jesus. Many
people are afraid of others pain and stay away from
people who are suffering great tribulations and trauma all
because they are afraid of others pain. Once we have
overcome our pain through His love we are now ready to
truly comfort other in pain. We are prepared to enter
their pain and feel their sufferings as Christ did for us.
The only reason we can bear their pain is because of the
Holy Spirit’s comfort within our own hearts. Even while
we are feeling their sufferings the Holy Spirit is there to
comfort us and to pour this comfort through us into their
broken hearts. This is one of the greatest things we can
do for someone who is in pain. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
4
who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we
may be able to comfort those who are in any
trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves
are comforted by God.
We need more compassion in the body of Christ. We need
to allow ourselves to enter into the pain of others and
allow the comfort of the Holy Spirit to flow through us to
them. We need to be heart and hands of compassion on
this earth to broken and dying world. If we allow the Holy
Spirit who is the comforter to have free reign in our
hearts then we will be drawn to those who are suffering
with the comfort of the Holy Spirit who is the true comfort

21
we can get. All the pain Father allows in our lives is pain
with a purpose. The purpose is to release His love and
comfort to a world that is tormented by so much pain.

Chastisement of our Father causes us pain

As pruning causes pain to plants, so when our heavenly

Father chastises us it causes us pain. This pain is
supposed to teach us something. That is why we are
disciplined. We are admonished not to hate His discipline.
This discipline is for our good and Father does it out of His
love for us. This is not to destroy us but to bring us into
His life and abundance. Hebrews 12:11. 1Peter 4:17. This
discipline comes in various forms, tribulations, sicknesses,
weakness, financial lack etc. Although God does not put
sickness on us, He will allow it into our lives in order to
wake us up from the sin that is bringing death to us. An
example of this is when we will not forgive someone.
Father hands us over to the tormentors who are the
demons. He does this out of love because those who do
not forgive are not forgiven and are in danger of losing
their salvation and going to hell. See Matt 18:21-35; 1
Corinthians 11:27-32. God has got many ways to
discipline us for our good. Before He does, He always
speaks to us first before He disciplines us in other ways.
He chastises those who are His, if we are not chastised by
Him then we are not His See Heb 12:5-11. We need to
thank our loving Heavenly Abba Father for His discipline
in our lives, as it proves His love and acceptance for us as

22
His children. When we are being disciplined it is no way
to make us pay for our sins, Jesus has already paid for
our sins. All His discipline is designed to help us realise
our error and turn back to Him in the area of darkness
that we are caught in.

These are the main areas where we experience pain, there are
other areas not listed here, the main thing is not to focus on what
causes pain but to know that there is pain in all of us and we all
need of healing for our souls.

Pain is a driver, It can dive us up the wall it can drive us to

drink etc.

What we must now look at are the pitfalls of pain.

23
Chapter 3

AVOIDING THE
PITFALLS OF PAIN

These are our pitiful attempts to overcome our pain. As we

struggle in our pain, we tend to generate our own coping
mechanisms. The following are patterns caused by pain.
Unfortunately, each one of the pitfalls will in the long run, cause
even more pain.

24
The maze of pitfalls
It is like the enemy has designed a maze of pitfalls for us to walk
through, the one leads to the other and so on. This maze is the
enemies complex set of traps waiting for mankind to be ensnared.
No matter how hard we try, we simply cannot avoid falling into
these traps. Only by following Jesus, will we be overcome all these
traps.

The nature of sin and temptation

As we have seen in this study that sin is what caused all the pain
in the first place. As you will see that all the pitfalls revolve around
some form of sin. The enemy knows what our pain is and will
always provide a false way of escape from the pain through sin.
However Jesus is always standing providing the true way of
escape. Knowing and following Jesus is always the only way out.

The word shows us that when our evil desire is enticed it give birth
to sin. In order to conceive you need to have sexual intercourse
with someone. Sin therefore is a child born out of intercourse with
satan. When this sin has matured it will gives birth to another child
called death. Imagine having two children in you house, one called
sin and the other death. This is what we release upon our selves
as we practice sin in nay area of our lives.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own

15
desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it
gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings
forth death. James 1: 14-15

25
The enemies ultimate goal is to separate us from God and kill us.
He does this through tempting us, as we fall into sin this might be
pleasurable for a season, but later it will bring forth death. Death
is the fullness of evil. If you are battling with confusion, worry,
fear on every side. This is the child of sin, who is giving birth to
death in your life. Jesus overcame sin and death and the grave for
us. Let us flee these things and pursue righteousness, joy and
peace in the Holy Spirit. This is His Kingdom.

26
1. Pitfall of self-centeredness.

This is the ultimate trap. All sin originated and revolves

around self-centredness. This is something we need to
really guard against and watch. Our focus needs to
always be on the Lord and not on ourselves. I have
always wondered why it is so hard to keep focused on
Jesus. The reason is self-centredness; instead of being
drawn to Jesus we are drawn to our selves. Self pleasure,
self seeking, selfishness. All this is where we are heading
when someone causes us pain. We immediately want to
try and protect ourselves so we come up with our own
way and plan to save ourselves.
Jesus says,
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but
whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s
will save it. Mark 8:35

The key to overcoming pain and all problems is

surrender. We need to completely surrender all pain to
Jesus each day. Absolute surrender, I will address this in
detail later in how to overcome the pain.
As we focus on our pain, it gets larger and larger. What
we need to do is focus on Jesus and obey His word.

2. Pitfall of self-pity.

a. Pity party. How many times do we not get into a pity

party feeling sorry for ourselves? The song goes, “It is my
party and I will cry if I want to.” This will only make us

27
even more discouraged and depressed. This to is part of
self-centredness. To overcome this we need be thankful
and praise Jesus no matter what is happening in our
lives. We must avoid self-pity at all costs.

3. Pitfall of self-accusation and condemnation.

This comes from navel gazing. Our enemy will join in as

we condemn ourselves and criticise ourselves on a
continual basis. Jesus wants us deny ourselves not
condemn ourselves. The Holy Spirit does not condemn us
but convicts us. Knowing the difference between these
two is very important for every Christian. Condemnation
is where the enemy through us or someone else shows us
our faults without love and doesn’t show us the way out.
This leaves the victim with a sense of guilt and shame
and hopelessness. Conviction on the other hand is where
God through us or someone else shows us our sin in love
and then shows us the way out. All we need to do is
repent and He will forgive us. Once we have been
forgiven healing needs to come to that part of the soul,
which was wounded by the sin. This will come through His
love and presence.

4. Pitfall of the blame game.

Blaming it on someone else always makes the pain feel

better, yet it doesn’t heal us. We see Adam blamed Eve,

28
and Eve blamed the snake. We all need to take
responsibility for our own sin.
One of the primary weapons of the accuser of the
brethren, is to get Christians to join him in, pointing
fingers and slandering our brothers. This slander and
accusation causes both parties even more pain. If only
Christians would wake up and see it is the devil using
them to accuse their brothers. Blame shifting really
doesn’t work in the end. Blaming someone else for our
own issues doesn’t heal us. The flesh wants feed our deep
seated pride, so we feel better if we are always criticising
others. Putting others down makes us feel better about
our selves. Only the Fathers unconditional love will heal
us of this pain. When we feel loved we will be able to love
others. Come up higher and enjoy our Fathers Love.

5. Pitfall of vengeance

Closely coupled to blaming others is vengeance. Once we

have been wronged and hurt. We want to see justice
done. We automatically take the seat of judge and try
and measure out the judgement and the sentence. In
most cases Christians wont go and openly hit another
Christian. They will hit them in another way. Through
slander, backbiting and strife. These sins cause more
damage than any other attack on the Body of Christ. We
need to be healed and ask God for mercy and grace on
those who have hurt us.

Why do we do such terrible things to people ?

29
Basically causing others pain in some strange fleshly way,
relieves some of our pain. To see others suffer causes us
some form of pleasure or gives us some fleshly relief of
our pain. This of course is totally demonic as the demons
operate on the same modus operandi. They torment
because they are tormented. How often don’t we see the
abused becomes the abuser from generation to
generation. This cycle can be stopped only by His Love
and truth which sets us free.

6. The pitfall of pleasure and entertainment

The backslider in heart will be filled with his own

ways, But a good man will be satisfied from above.
Proverbs 14:14

Why do people back slide? One of the main reasons is, that
they are not prepared to go through the pain it takes to
overcome their problem. Not knowing that the wonderful
Comforter is always there ready to comfort us and go
through the pain with us. He is always there, just waiting to
pour the healing balm of Gilead onto our broken hearts. Let
us press on through the pain with Jesus and our Comforter
the Holy Spirit.
Entertainment although in itself is not sin, is a massive
industry today because of the huge amount of pain in the
world. The pain we feel because of our sin and separation

30
from God drives us on in our search for comfort. Many of
these areas of comfort are actually sin.
We seek pleasure to sooth the pain we live with. We are
surrounded by stress, sickness, pain and darkness. We are
looking for relief from all this pain. Only the glory of His
presence will release us from the chains of pain and sorrow
around us. We are called to suffer and bear pain for Him at
this time. We need to learn to bear His pain.

There are many painkillers but they don’t get to the root of
the pain still lingers and grows. All the pleasures of the world
will only delay the pain and numb it for while. However,
when the pain comes back it is even worse. It will eventually
hit us like a tidal wave. We can run but we can’t hide.
Sooner or later, we will have to deal with the real issue.

7. The pitfall of riches and success

Wealth and riches in itself does not have any power. They
only get power over us, when we love them and desire them
more than God himself. We do this when we seek riches and
wealth more than seeking His face. We also do this by
worrying about money.

Humanity is trying to create their own heaven on earth

without God. Like the Israelites who built the golden calf
when Moses was on the mountain for forty days. We don’t
want to wait for the promise we want to relieve our pain,
now. So we go for the money, as the money can buy us
what we want as we think that a nice house, car and nice

31
clothes will really make us feel good. It will make others
respect us and look up to us.
As we are all made to be loved this is a fundamental need of
man, love and affirmation. Our whole lives we have received
accusation and rejection so now we try and get our own
acceptance through performance and pleasing man, success
is one way to do this.
The acid test: I believe, one of the acid tests to see where
you are really at, is to watch what you do with your free
time. Weekends, holidays etc. What is the thing that keeps
drawing you back for more. This actually is the most
important thing in your life. This thing or person can actually
be an idol in your life. If we truly have our first love for
Jesus, our first inclination will be, to be with Him and those
that are close to Him. We are only as close to Him as we
want to be.

Running from our pain by focusing on our work or ministry

etc. As we all seek to be loved affirmed and accepted one of
the ways of accomplishing this is through our work or
ministry. We know that if we can be successful at something
more people will like us. Our boss will be happy with us, our
children and our wives. Yet, often the very people we want
to please the most we end up hurting as they have different
expectations from us. We try to love them by doing things
for them and not being with them. The system of the world
teaches us to believe, that we have to earn love. You do this
by being successful and becoming famous in some area of
our lives.

32
Success and riches will never fill the need for Fathers
unconditional love.

8. The pitfall of wrong relationships.

Once the enemy has managed to destroy a relationship, we

then seek someone else who will be able to comfort us. Most
of the time this person is also wounded. This is the classic
rebound relationship. We don’t see their wounds only there
good side. Our own wounds blind us from seeing theirs as
we think that this person is the answer to our pain. The
relationship is really based on lust and not love. Lust is self-
seeking and love is selflessly giving. The problem here is
that both people or wounded and need healing. So they get
comfort from one another and not the Holy Spirit and are
never healed. The pain leaves temporally but it will surface
latter as the same issues pop up in this new relationship that
destroyed the previous one. We are tempted to go into
another relationship to seek comfort all the time running
from the pain. What we doing are just compounding the
problem. Once the fun and comfort of this relationship has
worn off and we start to see the faults of the other person
we then decide to break it off as this person is not meeting
our needs anymore. This is where betrayal and adultery is
born. We are unfaithful to each other when our needs are
not being met.

We need to know that no person, husband, wife, friend, will

be able to meet our deep-seated need for Gods love and
presence. When we try to place people as God, they are

33
idols. Once a person becomes your idol you have now been
set up for the big disappointment. As sooner or later this
person will show they are not perfect as you would like them
to be or even see them to be. When this happens we will
then start to attack or start looking around for another
person to meet our need.

So the cycle of pain continues. We need to seek relationships

with people who bring us closer to Jesus and will help us
face our pain.

9. Pitfall of manmade philosophies.

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord,

so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and
established in the faith, as you have been taught,
abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest
anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty
deceit, according to the tradition of men, according
to the basic principles of the world, and not
according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness
of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him,
who is the head of all principality and power. Col 2:6-
10

If anyone tries to lead us to another gospel or another way

of healing other than to the finished work of the cross it is
a manmade philosophy. Man has many ways to bring so

34
called healing, yet they only will bring temporary relief.
Many Christians have been caught in the trap of a quick fix.
When there is only one gospel. For only in Christ is the
fullness of the Godhead. Only in Him is our complete
healing and restoration. Jesus is the deliver and He delivers
us through all our tribulations. Yet, today many Christians
have come up with another way to get the church healed.
Any way/method no matter how wise it seems if it does not
get us to focus on Christ as our healer and deliverer and
His ways, which is the way of the cross, is actually another
gospel. The enemy is busy diluting the true gospel coming
up with a better way while still quoting scriptures.

I call this the coca cola gospel. Pure water mixed with lots
of sugar and artificial flavourants might taste good, but it
will cause you long term side effects. It might quench you
thirst in the short term, yet it will not cleanse you like pure
water will. Once you have are hooked onto coke, you will
loose your taste for pure water. Paul said, the message of
the cross is foolishness to the unbeliever but to those who
believe, it is the power of God unto salvation. 1Corintians
1:18-25. The message of the cross says our the old man
was crucified. The coca cola message says, we must dig
our old man/ past and get him healed. We cannot get
healed by remembering the past. We need to focus on the
Lord and pray as He leads us, the Holy Spirit will bring up
issues of the past to our minds which we need to deal with.
Yet He does not want us to dig the past up but simply deal
with issues He will bring to our attention as He leads us.

35
One thing I do, forgetting the past.
Paul as a true example of an overcome says we should
forget the past. Not try and remember it.
Brethren, I do not count myself to have
apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those
things which are behind and reaching forward to
those things which are ahead, Philippians 3:13
As we look to the cross we are healed as the word says by
His stripes we were healed. Focusing on the pain and
suffering of Jesus brings us our own healing as we are
healed by His wounds and pain. Nothing heals us like
looking at His wounds and love for us.

10. The Pitfall of the memory lane

About a year ago I wrote this story. I hope it will help you.
This is only the part one of From the museum to Fathers
House.

MEMORY LANE:
It is Saturday afternoon on a warm winters day and you
are driving back to your house. Suddenly you are aware
that your oldest friend Lonely is in the car with you, he is
looking sad as usual. He invites you to take a drive down
memory lane. Memory lane is a path of beautiful tall trees
that look so inviting to you, and after all you are feeling
lonely anyway. Somehow it seems very familiar, you feel

36
that you have been here before. You want to go their and
get some comfort in your past.

The tall trees are there from the time your memory started
and have grown into massive shady trees. You are
attracted to dwell under the shade of these old trees.
As you do this, memories of your childhood flash before
you. You somehow feel strangely comforted by this place
as this is your life as you choose to remember it. Here you
are free to remember only what you choose to, and feel
those same feelings again and again. This is like having
your very own theme park, as you can choose what ride or
theme you would like to join.

You remember the camps with the family, the fun times in
the car, the dog, the cat. The parties, all the good times.
The so-called good old days.

The feeling of nostalgia comes over you, which you really

enjoy, at that time your old friend Nostalgia makes his
appearance. He comforts you with this sad comfort that
you are so accustomed to. Nostalgia puts on the old songs
you use to play over and over, when he came to visit.
Weekends were especially suited for his visits, as no one
else was coming over. Well, the music hasn’t changed, only
the scenery. Nostalgia really knows you well because he
grew up with you from childhood, in fact he has been
hanging around your family tree for centuries. Just looking
to sadden the family members with those dear memories
of the past.

37
Somehow, this is our only solace in our loneliness.
Together with these two old friends we water and admire
the trees in memory lane.

The museum:
Then we finally we get to the museum. This is where our
past lives have been engraved in stone, in the museum of
our soul. This place is truly amazing to us as we seem to
visit the museum every time we are lonely. Somehow this
museum looks exactly like the house you grew up in, right
to the present, all in one massive house. Quite odd looking,
but very interesting and inviting. You feel drawn inside for
a deeper experience of the past. This is your old house,
now declared a museum.

There are many rooms in this museum. You start with the
family room, as this was where you always entered the
house. Wow! Remember all those wonderful Christmas’s,
the old friends and family. Then you remember that many
of them are dead or don’t really like you anymore. You can
almost smell the roast in the oven. Every thought frozen in
time and thought.

You go to the kitchen and dining room and remember the

fights and arguments and all your past mistakes. You then
hurry to the bedroom where you always spent time by
yourself, when the museum was much smaller. Somehow
the museum has really grown over the years, rooms are
added in very disjointed fashion. With all the people you

38
can remember living in this old house called the museum.
Each time you come for visit it takes more and more time
to go through the rooms.
Thoughts suddenly come crashing in and you are taken on
a wild ride, you didn’t even want to go in like some horror
ride. You try to escape but somehow you cant manage to
stop all these painful memories.

You are taken through this museum and remember all our
old hurts, loves and dreams. And say things like, “if only I
had not done this, or if only I had done that. If only this
had happened or that person had not done that to me my
life would have been different.” As we are caught up in the
drama of it all, our other friend, Sorrow joins us, and
covers us with garment of deep heaviness. We look around
at these old relics of the past finding discouragement our
old friend saying to us; “what is the point of your whole life
anyway”. Our lives have been a waste and we cannot
change the past. We stand chatting with him as he shares
all the discouraging stories of his terrible past hurts with
that he pours forth his bitterness of broken relationships as
he anger is still as fresh as the hurt of twenty years ago.

Dusty and stale

You notice it is very dusty and stale even though your
friends are always cleaning the place there is a distinct
absence of life here. Everyone is frozen in time at the exact
place you left them last. The past hasn’t changed. The
familiarity of the environment although very sad somehow
comforts you as your sadness increases.

39
You walk down one of the passages only to meet with
another old friend Despair and he tells us to give up all
together as no one really loves you not even God. Your so-
called friends have left you, or have betrayed you so many
times you feel worthless. We now are feeling very sorry for
ourselves and are in desperate pain and depression.

The pain is so intense as you walk out of the museum and

go stand outside ready to give up, you see your five
friends; Lonely, Nostalgia, Sorrow, Discouragement and
Despair, getting into your car to take your car away from
you. They want to drive you to some other friends of theirs
called lust, bitterness, revenge, slander and
death(suicide)……

Many people live in their museums and die there. How sad.
If you would like to escape your old house watch this
space!!!!!
Father is waiting in His house for you.

FORGETTING THE PAST:

Our future is not behind us. Keep looking forward!!!!

This is another key, we need to ask the Lord to help us
forget our past especially the painful memories. If we keep
looking back we will never move forward, as lots wife was
persevered in the past and became a pillar of salt we too
will be preserved in the past memories if we keep

40
remembering the painful past. Let us not keep going back
and eating this bread of sorrows. We have to move on and
to do that we must look forward in Jesus. Isaiah 43:18-19
“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider
19
the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I
will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in
the desert.
Here we are instructed to not remember nor to think about
the things of old, the past memories. We are instructed to
focus on the new thing God is brining forth in our lives the
new thing is the promise of life and blessings. The enemy
through pain will try and steal our future by getting us to
look back and live in the past. We must let go of the past
and move onto the future by faith. Philippians 3:13-14
Brethren, I do not count myself to have
apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those
things which are behind and reaching forward to
14
those things which are ahead, I press toward the
goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ
Jesus. Hope is the food of our soul we need hope, hope is
based on what God is going to do for us, our faith is based
in this future hope. This brings life and joy as we see the
new future God has for us. We are to resist the spirit of
grief and depression that will try and give us false comfort,
the only true comfort for our pain is in God. These spirits
will continue to haunt us with the past memories, when
they come we must fight them, by resisting them in Jesus
name. Let’s run to Jesus; don’t look back at what you have
lost. Looking back opens the door for more pain and for the

41
enemy of depression and hopelessness to enter in. Look
forward into His eyes of faith, hope and love and be
healed.

If we wipe out the past from our minds, we will be able to

see the hope of our future. If we hold onto the past then
we will wipe our future.

Prayer: Abba Father please forgive me for

dwelling on the past memories and pain. Father I ask You
to erase my painful memories, uproot them and fill my
heart with Your comfort and Your love. Today I choose to
forget my past and by Your grace I press to upward to the
high calling of Christ. Thank You Abba that You have a
wonderful eternal future for me, filled with love peace and
joy. Please show me the new thing You are doing in my
life. Amen

11. The pitfall of lust.

As we see in the previous pitfall pain leads to depression.

Once we are depressed it will lead to many other traps called
the lust of the flesh. The lust is divided into two groups. The
first is the lust of the eyes. The second is the lust of the
flesh. These two work very closely.
The Lust the flesh. Anger, strife, maliciousness, sexual
sins: fornication, adultery. You will find that once you fond
one sin, soon you will find others as they attract each other.
The more we sin the more sin we need to relieve the pain

42
the first cycle of sin will cause us. All sin wounds our souls.
As we continue to fight with other we not only wound them
but our own soul is wounded as we were not made to fight,
but to love each other. This is why He commands us to love.
If we don’t love we will malfunction. Once we sin we will
start to reap death in our lives. This death which is
separation from God will cause sickness , depressions,
greater lust. This is the every increasing spiral of self
seeking which is sin. All the time Jesus stands by watching
us weeping for us and longing for us to leave the pigs and
come home to Father House.

Lust of the eyes. Covetousness, idolatry, adultery with the

eyes, pornography addiction etc. As with the lust of the flesh
the lust with the eyes will lead to other areas of sin in our
lives. Our eyes are gates to our minds. We need to carefully
guard what we watch. We need to make sure we only look at
that which glorifies God. The media is so full of lust, it is like
a mine field. Take heed as you turn on your TV or open a
magazine. Ask yourself the simple question is this bringing
me closer to Jesus?

The Lord wants us to understand ourselves. If we don’t

understand, ourselves we want be able to understand
others. However before we can understand ourselves, we
need to know God, only through knowing God do we receive
true understanding. When we see people in sin we will
approach them with great compassion, knowing what drives
them to such a state. Once we are faced with the truth of
Gods love. We have choice to continue to live in the passing

43
comfort of our sin or to repent and live in the eternal
pleasure of knowing Him.
God hates sin and so must we. This is why Jesus had to die
to conquer sin, death and the gave. We as Christians have
been set free from sins power. Now let us only believe this
and walk free.

12. Pitfall of denial.

This is one of the most dangerous pitfalls. To say, “I don’t

have any pain or I don’t need healing.” Only those who
admit they have a problem can get help. Humility is the key
to getting healing. Jesus came to heal the sick, if you are not
weak and sick He cant help you. We need to admit we are in
pain and wounded before Father can really pour out His
healing love in our hearts. Because of pride many stay in
bondage. Jesus couldn’t help the Pharisees because of their
self-righteous pride. This especially applies to me who have
been taught, “Cowboys don’t cry, or men don’t cry.” ‘Crying
is not man thing to do it is only for women.’ This is a lie from
satan. Jesus who is the perfect man wept. Why would He say
blessed are those who mourn/ weep, if He didn’t want us to
weep.
Admitting you are wounded is the first step to overcoming
the pain.
How do you know where are wounded? This is very
important question. We are all wounded is some area or
other. The best way to find out is to ask the Lord to show
you. If you still cant see, just keep a notebook handy for one
week and see what triggers your temper. Those things that

44
really irritate you are areas you need to be healed in. If you
think of some one right now and feel anger, pain or some
other unpleasant emotion you must know you need healing
in this area.

13. Pitfall of building walls.

Building walls around our emotions is a pitfall, and is one of

our primary protection mechanisms. Don’t let anyone close,
in case they hurt you. Reject others before they reject you.
These are the living dead, the zombies who have cut off
their emotions. God gave us emotions, yet from the time we
are born satan attacks us in order to make us prisoners
within our own souls. We become prisoners of fear and pain.
Our enemy will torment these souls, taking them captive
through his demonic forces.

Are you afraid of emotional pain. Then you will attract it, like
blood attracts sharks. Demons are attracted to fear and
repelled by faith and love. As soon as you fear people
because of your previous pain, you will become defensive,
judgmental and even aggressive if threatened. The enemy
will now set you up, over and over, for fall after fall. To
break this cycle we need to be healed and overcome our
pain through love. I will share more of this in how to
overcome our pain. If we don’t get healed from our past
pain, we will never be able to overcome the future pain.
People will hurt us. We must just accept this. Whether they
mean it, or not. We are in a war, and most times people

45
don’t understand what they are doing when they wound us.
This is why Jesus could say, ‘Father forgive them for they
know not what they do.’ The religious leaders who set Jesus
up, and the Roman soldiers, were blind and never knew
what they were doing. Yet, it all worked for His glory in the
end. Even your pain, if you overcome it will turn out for His
glory in the end. Like Joseph, Hannah, Daniel, Jacob, Paul
and Jesus.

The pain that your run from will hit you like freight train
later in your life. That wound will catch up with you. We are
all victims satan’s attacks. Our enemy wants us to focus on
the people, so we don’t over come him. When people hurt
us, we need to focus on the Lord and forgive and love them.
This is war, as in any war there will be all casualties of war.
There are many thousands out there who are now POW’s
(prisoners of war). We need to pray for them and reach out
to them. They are upset with the church and even upset and
offended with God. This leads us to the next pitfall of being
offended with God.

14. Pitfall of blaming God

The foolishness of a man twists his way, And his heart

frets against the LORD. Proverbs 19:3

You have just been through major trauma in your life and
you cant understand why it all happened. You feel God let
you down. The first sign of this is a rejection of spiritual

46
authority in your life. As any pastors or spiritual authority
represents God, when you resist them you resist God. Once
this happens the next step is to be offended with God. Why
did God allow this? Why didn’t He stop it? These are
questions that we ask. Not realising that satan is the
accuser, if he can get us to accuse God then we have no
hope what so ever, as God is our hope. If you cant trust God
then who really can you trust? If you are offended at God,
you need to immediately know that you must repent of this
pride. God is perfect and there is no fault with in Him.
Everything that happens in our life is for a reason we might
not understand it now but we will later. One of the key tests
is the Job test. Are you prepared to lose all you money,
family and friends and still love God. Job had this test and
He past it. His wife said, ‘curse God and die.’ His friends
condemned him and told him there was sin in his life. What
was the whole test about? Why would God allow satan to
destroy his children then put sickness on him. This is a key
question for man.

Are you serving God for what blessings you get out of Him.
If He stops blessing you and allows you to go to jail for five
years for Hi. Will you still serve Him? The enemy was
challenging God, saying Job serves you because you are
blessing him and protecting him with a hedge. Job 1:6-22;
2:1-10. Take the hedge away and he will curse you. If God
takes your hedge away and you lose all your dreams, will
you say like Job, ‘though you slay me I will trust You’ or will
you curse God and die. This is your ultimate test.

47
The father Christmas gospel has taught us that God is like
father Christmas, sitting on His throne just wanting to give
us presents. God is a loving Father, however He is not father
Christmas. He is righteous, loving, just, holy and merciful.
He does bless His children. He also chastens those He loves.
He tests those He loves. He even allowed satan to come a
sift Peter as wheat. Yet, Jesus said, ‘I have prayed for you.’
Take courage no matter what test you are going through
now, Jesus has prayed and ever lives to intercede for you. If
you don’t know God as the Lion and Lamb, you will be
deceived by this false gospel. When your life seems to fall
apart and your heart is hanging out bleeding, you will point
a finger at God and everyone around you. This attitude plays
right into the hand of satan. God will not change even if you
throw your toys out of the cot. The question really is, will
you serve Him even if He kills you?

One main thought has always helped me get through the

most difficult times in my life.

I trust God, because He knows what He is doing, even

if He kills me. He always knows best. He is my loving
Daddy in heaven and He is totally trustworthy. All I
can say is, I trust Jesus, my Father and my friend the
Holy Spirit.

15. Pitfall of Loneliness:

48
Loneliness is based on some unmet future need. If I live in
the now with Him I will never again be lonely.

Lust is the flesh’s answer to loneliness. Lust always wants to

be fulfilled now no matter what lust it is. Lust will feed off
unbelief, unbelief causes us huge pain.

Longsuffering / patience always helps us to wait for the

fulfilment of the promises yet without faith we will not inherit
the promises of God. We need both longsuffering and faith
to receive anything from God. The long suffering is the
suffering of the flesh nature and the soul while the time ticks
on waiting for the promises to manifest.

Yet faith is the fuel of the spirit and the soul whereby we
believe in our hearts. That which God has said He will do, is
already done.

Hebrews 11:1 says, Now faith is the substance of things

hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

So faith is now, not just now or tomorrow. It is now

substance, when we loose our faith in His promises we
automatically loose our hope and all longsuffering goes out
the window.

Unbelief – doubt therefore is; Unbelief is also now, the

substance of things not hoped for and the evidence of the
things not seen. It is the exact opposite. Except it has the

49
physical evidence to help it like, no finances, no partner,
pain, sickness etc. Unbelief operates in the soul yet faith
operates in the soul and the spirit. Faith is one of the nine
fruit of the Spirit. Once we have our hope differed our hearts
grow sick. When this happens we need healing and get back
into faith which is the foundation of our hope. The very
spiritual substance of the thing hoped for. The spiritual
evidence of things not seen. Therefore faith is a powerful
spiritual force that is not in the natural realm.

Satan knows that the only way we can receive our

inheritance from God is through faith therefore it is number
one focus to attack our faith through negative voices and
circumstantial evidence.

Living in God now we hear Him now we experience Him now

not tomorrow or next week but now.

If I am always living in the future I will never experience

God now. Next week things will get better, next years things
will be sorted out this is our hope. But where is our faith?
Faith is now!!! If we are in faith we believe we have what we
have prayed when we pray and have the same joy as if we
really have it in the natural. Therefore true faith means we
experience the joy of the answer and the hope before it
actually materialises.

When we live in God now we are never lonely.

16. Pitfall of religion:

50
Many who don’t fall to the outer more vile sins will turn to
religion. This is just as dangerous and most probably even
more difficult to over come as it hides under the word of
God.
What is religion? Religion is any practice that tries to earn
our salvation. This is done by keeping a bunch of rules. Mans
pride leads him to try and save himself. Every religion is
built on this foundation. Pride comes before a fall, and all
these religions will fall. Revelation 18.

How do Christians get religious? Because of all their pain,

they feel they will be accepted by their own self-
righteousness. This is really an affront to the cross. Many
Christians have started to fall, by trying to keep the law in
order to earn their salvation. Jesus fulfilled the law for us.
The Word of God states, that the law is there as our school
master leading us to the Christ the saviour. Galatians 3:24
Basically the law, was there to show us that we couldn’t
keep it and therefore we fall short of His glory. Romans
5:20;3:23-24 Jesus came to save sinners like us. We need
His grace to save us and we are kept by grace. Not
understanding Gods grace causes us to try and earn Gods
love. Gods love is unconditional. He loves us no matter how
we behave. Yet, He does require us to follow His Son. We
are saved through faith and we stay on the road by faith in
His amazing grace. We are only to look to Jesus as our
saviour.

51
17. Pitfall of suicide.

The ultimate victory for satan is to convince you to kill

yourself. When I was going through a major trauma in my
life. I was really tempted to kill myself. Although I never told
anyone. God knew about it. He told me that He alone would
reserve the right to kill me, I couldn’t kill myself, as that was
murder. I submitted and let Him kill me. The quicker you die
the better it is. No sense in struggling. Let Him kill you. It is
far better than letting the devil kill you with His lies. Once
you deny your self and follow Jesus, you have His life. Why
we struggle for so long holding onto our wretched lives I just
don’t know. All we need to do is just surrender and give him
our will, mind and emotions, our whole lives. Give Him the
pain. He will give you the grace to go through the pain. The
pain will build character in you as you learn to overcome
through Him. This pain is the mountain you must climb.
The enemy keeps saying, “give, up give up!” You need to
say, “no devil Jesus has overcome you on Calvary 2000 year
ago. No, you give up, you have been defeated, in Jesus
name!!”
18. Pitfall of grief and sorrow

This is a very dangerous pitfall. We can easily fall in this pit

as we try and cope with all the attacks of the enemy on our
lives. We eventually start to accept sorrow and grief when it
comes. Instead of turning to the Lord for healing and
discerning this demon of grief, we turn to and embrace it as
a friend. We some how feel some form of comfort in our

52
grief and pain. We tend to sit in our pain or we ignore it and
run from it. Both of these will not get us healed and
delivered from these demons. God’s deliverance process is in
James 4:7. Submit to God then resist the devil. When we
allow the spirit of grief and sorrow access to our hearts, this
releases a cloud of heaviness around us and makes it
difficult for ourselves and others to enter into His presence.
As I have covered in a previous point; “godly sorrow versus
worldly sorrow” we need to submit to God and then resist
the devil; the devil in this case is causing us the grief and
sorrow and pain. The demons touch our emotions and even
our fives senses so the feelings are real, but not Gods will
for our lives. God wants us to walk in freedom. We can
simply rebuke these demons just like we would rebuke a
headache and then claim our healing by the stripes of Jesus;
as He took our sorrows and pain on the cross. Jesus paid it
all, we don’t have take the pain or grief anymore ☺. We
need to speak His word His word when spoken in faith will
release joy and peace. He will do what He says He will do.
His word will return to Him void, as we return His word to
Him by our faith filled proclamations, He says His word will
come back to Him empty. The moment we return His word
to Him God is bound by His word to perform His word. All we
need to do is speak His words that He has given us. We
speak in faith and God performs, this is the rest of faith. Joy
comes as we return His rhema word to Him in faith. Is 55:9-
10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from
heaven, And do not return there, But water the
earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may
11
give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So

53
shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It
shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish
what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for
12
which I sent it. “For you shall go out with joy, And
be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the
trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Sorrow and sighing will flee away

Here is wonderful promise as we take His word and receive
His joy so the spirits of sorrow and sighing will flee from
then joy of the Lord in us – Isaiah 35:10 “And the
ransomed of the Lord shall return, And come to Zion
with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They
shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing
shall flee away. Joy is His Kingdom and the darkness of
grief and sorrow will flee before His Joy on our heads. This is
crown of victory – made of joy and singing. Note; He
promises everlasting joy, not temporary relief of for a day or
few hours but joy that last forever. This His promise to us
we must not take this promise and inherit the Kingdom of
His joy.

All these pitfalls are like painkillers, they take the pain away for a
while, but they don’t have the power to heal our souls. Man’s
methods to resolve pain, will never overcome our real enemy the
devil, the one who causes all pain. We need healing and
deliverance, not painkillers. Why do people take painkillers, even

54
though they don’t really work? Because, they are quick and easy
and give immediate relief. Yet the relief will not solve the real root
problem, a wounded and broken soul. The pain still remains under
the layers of painkillers. Jesus came healing the sick and casting
out demons. We need to do the same, it all starts with us getting
healed and delivered, for this is His children’s bread.

I hope the study has really helped you so far. Now for the home
stretch. Overcoming this pain. The reason I had to go into so
much depth before we can tackle it is to give you more
understanding. Next part…..OVERCOMING PAIN – THE PATH
OF LOVE

55
Chapter 4

OVERCOMING PAIN –
THE PATH OF LOVE

“Love never, never, never, fails. Therefore when we

love will always be successful in Father’s eyes”

56
There seems to be many pitfalls of pain, I have only listed some of
the main ones, yet there is really only one way to overcome all
these pitfalls. The way, is the way of the cross. Luke 9:23. There
is no other way to be healed and restored to our heavenly Father.
This way is called the “Path of LOVE”

Deny your self

Take up your cross daily
And follow Jesus

OUR HEALING IS IN OUR DYING

FOR HE ONLY RAISES THE DEAD

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls

into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it
produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and
he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal
life. John 12:24-25

Where is Jesus leading us?

57
As we follow Jesus we find we are going up the mountain of the
Lord to the Father. John 14:6. Jesus’ main aim is to lead us to the
Father. Once we get to the Fathers unconditional love our pain is
healed and hearts are filled with His love. Now we are ready to go
and pour this love out to the broken hearted and wounded.

We need to understand that Jesus didn’t come to deliver us from

pain. Yet, He has sent the Holy Spirit and given us His word to
overcome the pain and triumph over evil, despite our sufferings.
All the time growing closer to Him and bearing more fruit. In order
to overcome pain, Jesus leads us right to the most painful issues
in our lives. This normally involves broken relationships. These
wounds need to be healed so that the enemy will not be able to
use these wounds as a handle by which he can grab and abuse us
again and again.

To get healed you have to go through more pain. Pain is like an

apses, you need to use a knife to cut the apses and let of the pain
and sorrow drain out. The apses (wound)needs to be cleansed and
treated with His Word and comfort of His Spirit.

1. Understanding is a key to overcoming pain:

A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, But

knowledge is easy to him who understands…The
wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, But
the folly of fools is deceit. Proverbs 8:6,8

58
The whole focus of this series has to bring us into a deeper
understanding. Understanding means to ‘stand under’ and
have a clearer picture as to how something works or why
something happened. If we want to understand a car we
need to stand under it, in order to see what is going under
the hood. We cannot understand by just looking it at from
the top. So it is with people, we need to get under them so
we can understand them. We do this by loving and serving
them. Before we can do this we need to get under God to
understand Him. We do this through prayer and reading His
word and fellowshipping with him as He reveals Him self to
us we grow in understanding. The word says the knowledge
of God is understanding. Proverbs. 9:10.

One of my weakest points has been compassion. Only when

I started to understand what understanding means did the
lights really come on for me. Gods compassion, like ours is
based on our understanding. The more understanding the
more compassion. His great compassion comes from his
great understanding of mankind. Jesus is a compassionate
High Priest because of His understanding of how it feels to
be a man tempted by the devil in this world. How awesome
God is, in order to gain understanding of man, He came
down from His throne and became a man in order to stand
under us, He dwelt amongst us to feel what we go through,
so He could help us overcome it all. What wisdom and what
love is this. He is the compassionate High priest who ever
lives to intercede for you and I.

Most arguments and broken relationships come from not

having understanding. As we see here in the list of
antonyms. The reason people are not more sympathetic and
sensitive and compassionate towards each other is because
they don’t know God, as the knowledge of God is
understanding, Proverbs 9:10. Those who know God have

60
understanding and if we have understanding, we will have
compassion, tolerance, and sensitivity towards others.

Because of our pain, we tend to see things in a very cloudy

and one-sided manner. Understanding is not about who is
right and who is wrong, but more about why does this
person do what they are doing. Why do people murder
and rape others? Everyone knows that this is wrong, but
that doesn’t mean they have any understanding as to why.
When someone hurts us our natural instinct s judge them
and accuse them and hurt them back. The right response is
to go to God and seek understanding and forgive the person
and love them. Now we can take our positions as
intercessors and release compassionate prayers for our
enemies as we now have understanding.
The reason we have so little understanding of people is
because we don’t understand God.

There a few keys areas of understanding we need. First, we

need to understand God and His Kingdom, then ourselves
and others. We allso will need to understand the ways of the
evil one, obviously not to the great depth of knowing God as
the light will expose the darkness.

The more understanding we have, the freer we will become.

Jesus was free from His murderers even though they we
standing in front of Him mocking Him. How could He still
love them and pray, ‘Father forgive them for they no not
what they do’? He could do this because, He really
understood that each of these poor people who were killing

61
him did not really understand Him, but were captives of the
devil to do His works. So instead of anger at them for this
injustice He felt sorry for them and was able to intercede for
them and not accuse them before the Father. This made way
for many of His murders to be saved as they witnessed this
great prayer of His. Before we can really be true intercessors
like Jesus we need to have His heart, a heart of
understanding. He prays for everyone continually as ever
lives to make intercession. He will pray for those who will
eventually go to hell, yet He still prays. Why does He do
this? Because He is unconditional love and will be good to
those who hate Him even though they will ultimately reject
His goodness and go to hell. This is something very difficult
for us to understand. But when we do, it sets us free to love
others whether they receive it or not. We can now love
unconditionally and leave the results up to God. His ways are
not our ways. We really need to know His ways, if we are
stay in His way.

We must not lean on our own understanding Proverbs 3:5.

We can see in Psalm 73 the Psalmist was misunderstanding
Gods ways. As he said he almost stumbles as he was
envious of the boastful. He was looking at how well the
proud and wicked we doing in the natural verse 3- 12. He
starts to say that his walk of holiness is in vain, this is lie
from the devil. Why did he not understand? Why was he so
blind? In verse 16 and 17 we see the turning point for this
psalmists heart.

62
When I thought how to understand this, It was too
painful for me— Until I went into the sanctuary of
God; Then I understood their end. Psalm73:16-17

How often when something happens in our lives do we cry

out, ‘why, why did this thing happen’? Yet when we try to
understand, it is too painful to understand. The problem is
when we have pain the pain causes us to loose our
understanding and we focus on the pain instead. What must
we do, when we need to understand what is going on? Quite
simply, the psalmists pain lingered until it drove him into
God presence. Our pain will only be healed once we have
gone into His presence and God gives us understanding of
the person or situation. Only when he saw the end of the
wicked and that it did not always go well with them; did he
receive comfort in understanding Gods ways. Understanding
will heal our pain. As we now see from Gods point of view
we are free from confusion and anguish. The key is dwelling
in His sanctuary of His presence as we are in His presence
seeking understanding from God then He will open the
person heart to us so we can get under them and see what
makes them hurt us the way they do. This is why Jesus says
come unto Me all you who are heavy laden and I will give
you rest for your souls. Mathew 11:28.

Some people have said, God does not want us to know or

understand these things. This is lie from the devil, why
would He give us the Spirit of truth, Who leads us into all
truth even the deep mysteries of God. 1Corianthians 2:9-16.
Because Jesus calls us His friends, this means He will do

63
nothing unless He tells His friends. If we are His friends He
will explain His ways to us. The word says seek
understanding. Proverbs 2:2-5. We can only get
understanding from the Lord when we are in His presence.
As we see in verse 24 this counsel will bring us into His
glory. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of council who brings
understanding in all things. When we are not in His presence
and are worried and in pain we cannot understand the thing
and this causes great confusion and even more pain which
the enemy enjoys so much. The enemy uses the confusion
to hurt us even further with all kinds of lies an accusations.
Now we battle with a critical heart and start to criticize
instead of loving the person. Knowing why people do hurtful
things us helps us to have compassion on them and to pray
for them. It helps us love them and minister to them. Now
we wont only be focused on our pain but we will seek to
understand their pain and love them so they are healed. This
is called deliverance. We can only minister deliverance
through understanding and wisdom and love. With one of
these missing we cannot help the person. This ministry of
healing and deliverance needs to start with husbands and
wives and then reach the children.

2. Understanding the heart of man.

The heart of man is his will, mind, emotions and the seat of
courage and understanding. If we can understand our own
hearts, then we will be able to be healed. We can only do
this when we come to God. Only God knows our hearts; as

64
He reveals our hearts to us. We are set free not just by
know what we are doing wrong, but why we are doing the
things we do. This helps us tremendously. As there are
certain patterns in our lives, He will explain each one and
show us how to get free.
When we understand our hearts, we are healed to a greater
degree. As we understand our own hearts, we will start to
understand others. The heart, is desperately wicked who can
know it? Only God knows our hearts. For example, the Lord
showed me, that all my strongholds are there to protect –
self. No wonder he says, deny self. The first step in healing
starts with denying self. However, it helps to understand
why self must die and why it is so deadly. As we draw near
to Him, the Holy Spirit, our friend and comforter brings light
into our hearts revealing the deep things and strongholds in
our lives. He doesn’t do this to condemn, but the set us free.

We have different types of pain, physical, emotional, and

mental. Which is worse? We might argue that physical pain
is worse. It is quite evident that emotional pain is what
causes physical pain. Studies have shown that 75% of all
sickness is psychosomatic, which means, the sickness is
caused by what we think. Our thoughts either bring healing
or death. The word says, ‘we must guard our heart for
out of it flow all the issues of life.’ Proverbs 4:23. A
healthy sound heart is life to the body. Proverbs 14v30
We can laugh but still have pain and heaviness after we
have laughed it is so shallow and hollow. Proverbs 14:10,13.
Jesus wants to bring us complete deep healing, deep calls
unto deep.

65
We need to know and understand His heart. How does
Fathers heart work and feel.
Our sin causes God great pain Gen 6:5-6. Our Fathers heart
is broken over our sin, when we sin we sin against Him.
David said, “Against You only have I sinned”
If we love our Father, we will seek to relieve His pain and
bring Him pleasure. Oh, what a calling and privilege we have
to please our Father. All sin is based on pleasing self, as we
please self we bring pain to our Fathers heart in heaven, the
more we think about this truth the more this helps us to
focus on pleasing Him and not pleasing ourselves.

3. Understanding pain and the purpose of pain:

Why does God allow pain? All great achievements come

through great struggles, and great struggles involve great
pain. The best example is the battle of Calvary. Jesus fought
for the souls of every human being and it cost Him dearly. It
cost Him His life. The pain Jesus went through was in every
part of His life, spirit, soul, and body. I believe there are a
number of reasons; our loving heavenly Father allows pain.
The first is to show us there is a problem, once we know
there is a problem we need to turn to Him for the solution.
The other reason is demonstrate the love of Jesus to others
by laying our lives down for them. This simply means I will
go through pain to help someone else.
The third reason is pain is here because of sin and we are
reaping what we have sowed as individuals and as the

66
human race. No matter how much pain God allows in our
lives we need to know that all things work together for good
for those who love Him and are called according to His
purpose. Romans 8:28
Our pain is the seedbed for our ministries. Most of us have
had tremendous prophecies over our lives of greatness,
about the great ministries God has called us to. When we
hear these words we often do not realise what a price we will
pay to inherit these promises from God. The greater the
ministry calling the greater the price there will be. Joseph,
David and Jesus all paid with great pain to inherit their
promises. We are no different, if they suffered so must we.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time
are not worthy to be compared with the glory, which
shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

Many want to have heart like David, but they don’t want the
pain of David. How can we have a heart after God without
experiencing His pain? Joseph, David and Daniel bring
comfort to millions of people as we read their testimonies
and words. Jesus comforted the whole human race by His
suffering. We are healed by His stripes, so others will be
healed by our stripes. The very areas we have overcome, He
will help others through us to overcome through our
sufferings. If we don’t overcome the pain, we wont be able
to be released into our destinies. The word declares that we
will overcome the accuser by the blood of the lamb, by the
word of our testimonies and not loving our lives even unto
death Revelation 12:11. These three weapons will cost us
and cause us pain. God has called us overcomers. How can

67
we help someone in pain when we have never really
suffered, our words will not really carry the same weight and
power as someone who has suffered and overcome though
Christ.

Those who haven’t overcome their pain become hard, bitter,

and very critical. The reason this happens is we build walls
to protect our hearts from more pain. So the more we have
been rejected the more danger we face, of becoming hard
and callous. Those who have overcome are soft and gentle.
The stony heart has been turned into heart of flesh. This
happens through brokenness.

As He comforts as heals us, this pain will turnout for

someone else’s healing. Lets say you have many broken
relationships, once you are healed, God can minister though
you to others in their brokenness and pain, as you have
been healed in your areas of pain.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus

Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be
able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the
comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by
God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so
6
our consolation also abounds through Christ. Now if
we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and
salvation, which is effective for enduring the same
sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are
7
comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

68
And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know
that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you
will partake of the consolation. 2 Corinthians 1:3-7

Jesus comforts us through His Spirit as He has suffered the

most pain. See Isaiah 53.

4. Deny yourself and surrender all to Him.

In order to overcome our pain, we must surrender control to

Him. Being in control is a stronghold that gives us security
and self-confidence. We can’t trust Him and stay in control
at the same time. We must choose to trust Him. Trusting
God is total surrender to His will and ways. This goes against
all self-preservation that lies within our fleshly mindset.
Give your whole life, wounds, family, friends, enemies,
plans, dreams, hopes to Him. This is how we deny our
selves. We lay down all that is dear to us at the foot of the
cross. Sometimes what we hold onto the most is our old
wounds and pains. Only once have surrendered our pains
and losses is He able to heal and restore.
We surrender our ways of doing things and obey His word.
When people hurt us, we now forgive and love them this
causes great pain in our flesh, yet in the long sets us free
from pain. Pain now doesn’t rule us, we should rule over
pain. If pain rules us, we make decisions based on the path
of least resistance and pain. Doing this is what makes fools
and rivers crooked. Our Christian walk is the greatest
adventure of all and is an uphill battle all the way. We need

69
a mindset to overcome and rule over pain in our lives. Gods
will, causes us much pain in the short term, yet in the long
turn there will be much glory.

Remember salvation is the great exchange. When give Him

our sinful useless lives, He gives His glorious life. When I
saw it like that it was easier for me to give my life away. All
that is dear to me, I need to give to Him so I can
receive all that is dear to Him. I trust now in His great
love for me, which is much greater than the love I have for
my own life. I know He works all things for my best interest.
He is our heavenly Father who loves us so much.
Give Jesus the pain. Every day we need to give Him our
pain. Speak to your Beloved Saviour and tell Him, how badly
you hurt. Learn to pour out you souls to Him. He has taught
me to tell each time I feel pain, when I do this He really
comforts me. Then give Him, all the pain and ask Him to
heal you. He is our healer. He came to set the captives free
and heal the broken hearted. If you in this category you can
be healed. If you are not, you cannot be healed.
Give Him all the people in your life. Part of this healing
process is handing the people to Him who have caused you
the most pain.
Trusting Him completely. Once you have handed them to
Him, trust Him completely and don’t lean on your own
understanding.

5. Give yourself to prayer.

70
We should come boldly before His throne of grace as often
as we need to. He will give us mercy and grace. This is
something we need to do first thing in the morning in our
main devotion for the day. We need to continue to cry out
for grace and mercy during the day. I find many Christians
don’t really have a proper time with the Lord in the
mornings. This will cause them to be weak and easily
overcome. Jesus is our life and strength; prayer/ communion
with Him and His word, is the way we stay vitally connected.
Without prayer we will die. The further I go on my journey
the more prayer I need. He doesn’t want us to pray to get a
religious medal, but because we desperately need His mercy
and grace in our lives. Those who don’t pray much don’t
need Him much.
The more I grow the more I see how much I really need
Him. Prayer is a discipline we need to develop early in our
Christian walk. Basically prayer is like breathing, without it
we will certainly die. Those who don’t really have a strong
prayer life will fall when temptation comes. See Mathew
26:41.

Psalm 109:4. Here we see David been accused and in great

pain. He says, “But I give myself to prayer” This is where
all healing starts with fervent heart felt prayer. We really
need at this time to give our selves to prayer. Seeking Him
in times of pain and trouble is the only way of complete
healing and deliverance. We need to pour out our soul to the
Lord everyday. Tell someone who really cares. Jesus cares
enough to listen, not to condemn but to listen and
understand and to comfort you with His endless love. He is

71
the lover of your soul. He knows just how and where to
touch you. He is so faithful and merciful.

Loneliness brings great pain; the pain of loneliness will be

healed when Jesus becomes so real to us that His glory
eclipses all our relationships we have on earth, no matter
how wonderful they are. He is our Friend, He wants to hear
are hearts cry and pains. Tell Him how you feel, share the
pain, as you do He will pour out His comfort on your wounds.

Sometimes I feel perplexed I just don’t know what to do get

a breakthrough in prayer. It is only as I am free just to be
totally transparent before my Friend that He releases of His
presence and comfort. It is as though He just stands
patiently waiting for us to give Him our pain and troubles
and as we do He pours out His healing balm of His glorious
presence. This is the breakthrough, when I break I am
through. This is the veil of the flesh which hides Him from
us.

In the short term this route is more painful than other easier
quick fixes or pitfalls. The word does not say when you are
suffering and in pain go to a councillor to get a fix. It says
pray. James 5:13,16.
God does not want us to look to man for our healing but to
Jesus who is our healer. There is nothing wrong with council
as such, as all council is supposed to give us the undiluted
word of God and not add anything to it. Only the pure living
waters will bring healing. Revelation 22:1-2

72
However when we are on our knees, praying through our
issues, struggling in our pain, crying out to God. It is in this
place of brokenness that we get to truly know God, only
those who really know God will be healed completely.
Knowing God, is knowing Him intimately by personal
experience not just knowing what the bible says or your
pastor said. But having your own personal encounters with
the healer of your soul. Feeling and experiencing His
presence and weeping as He alone heals you and sets you
free. Many people would rather go to pastor or councillor to
do this for them. This will help, but you are getting a cheap
substitute for the food from the Masters hand. First hand
revelation is always better then second hand revelation. This
is not His best way and it will not work in the long term.
Good is always enemy to best, don’t settle for anything but a
close personal relationship with your King and Beloved. Many
people get hooked on counselling, yet God wants us addicted
to His presence and word. Yongi Cho, the pastor of over one
million people says that when people come to him for
counselling for suffering he asks if they have prayed if they
have not, He sends them to prayer mountain to pray for a
few days. It is on Prayer Mountain that the Christian is
healed.
Today we live in a society of quick fixes and fast food. The
Bible says, There is a way that seems right to a
man, But its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14:12
Only in prayer will we really get to know God. Only those
who know Him will be set free and able to overcome their
pain and all that is in the world. We are living in desperate
times, now is the time to cultivate our relationship with Him.

73
6. Give yourself wholly to His Word.

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If

you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make
you free.” John 8:31-32
If we are not living and abiding in His words we are not His
disciples. Only those who know the Word who is a person,
will be set free. Many Christians are street wise they know
the words of God yet they don’t know the God of His word.
We need to be intimately acquainted with Him through His
word. His words are spirit and life. We need to spend time
searching His word for the treasures of life hidden in His
word. His words need to become personal revelation in our
hearts. The reason He sent Israel into the wilderness and I
believe the every believer as well. Is so that we will learn
that man does not live by bread alone but by every word
that proceeds from the mouth of God. Deuteronomy 8. Don’t
let pain or depression steal your inheritance. Resist the devil
and the pain and seek Him in His word. As we believe what
the word says will we be healed.

Many people don’t know the basic teachings of Christ. Gods’

people, perish because of a lack of knowledge. How can we
believe if we don’t even know His word? How can we be
healed if don’t believe?

74
As you seek the Lord in prayer make sure your bible is close.
Ask the Helper and Comforter to lead you into all truth. As
you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. As
you see Jesus in His word and get to experience who He is,
you will be set free. Eternal life, is knowing God by personal
experience. John 17:3. Make sure you actively believe His
words with your heart, don’t just read His words believe and
do them.
His words are our life as we eat His words we are healed
spirit, soul and body.
He sent His word and healed them, And delivered
them from their destructions. Psalm 107:20

We must learn not to live by natural means only but by

every word that proceeds out of His mouth. Everyday we
need, now; words of Gods revelation from heaven. This is
what breaks the darkness over our souls and sets us free.
We need today’s bread today not last months stale bread.
Fresh bread from heaven, Jesus s this bread of life.
One of the greatest words for healing our bodies and souls is
1Peter 2:24. b ‘By whose stripes you were healed.’ All
our healing has already being provided for at the cross.
Notice our wounds are healed by His wounds. Behold the
Lamb and as you do you will be healed. All I must do is
believe His word. We will not be healed without faith. So
then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word
of God. Romans 10:17

7. Give yourself to His presence:

75
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is
fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures
forevermore. Psalm 16:11

If we want life and spiritual pleasures for evermore then we

need to continue to abide in the Lords manifest presence.
This is every child of Gods inheritance, His presence. All we
need to do is come boldly to His throne and enter His
presence.
We have a choice everyday to abide in His presence or
withdraw into our anger and bitterness, lust or whatever
stronghold we have. A stronghold is place from which we
protect our selves these strongholds rule our lives. All these
strongholds we have built together with the enemy in order
to protect ourselves and get what we want.
Jesus is continually confronting these fortresses of darkness
in our lives with His word and presence. This is why it is so
common for Christians to hide for the Lord. We do this in
many ways. We don’t want to fellowship with other believers
any more as it brings out the pain or exposes our trusted
strongholds. We don’t spend time in His presence as we
know His light will reveal our nakedness. Only those who
love the truth and want to be set free will come into His
presence.
His presence brings life and destroys darkness in our lives as
His presence is a consuming fire.
His word then builds up new strongholds within our hearts
and minds. From these fortresses of truth we are able to
destroy the works of the devil in our lives and in others lives.

76
Jesus first seeks to overcome us, so that we can overcome
all else. The wrestle continues, We must allow the Lord to
overcome us and submit to His presence and allow Him to
bless us with His nature and character. It is only the Lord
who can change deceivers like us it into princes with Him.
We are wrestling over our souls. He is the lover of our soul
and has died to save our soul.
That is why He says, ‘deny yourself and take up your
cross daily and follow Me’. Luke 9:23

Only those who have denied self can take the pain of the
cross. The rest will fall away as the pain increases the self
will arise and run away from the cross. He wants to posses
the promised land of our souls which is filled with all kinds of
giants. These giants are the idols in our lives that will be
confronted with His fire and word. As He comes and encircles
these walls, they are crushed by the weight of His glorious
presence. Jericho walls are coming down. Little by little we
will take the land of our souls back from the enemy as we
walk with the Prince of Peace, who will crush satan under
our feet.
He has come to set the captives free!!

8. Love the only command.

Why does a loving and kind God command us to love Him

and others? I believe He commands us to love Him, because
this is what we were created for. Only when we do what we
were created for will be truly fulfilled. As we love Him and

77
others, we experience His love and grace in our lives. If we
obey we will be totally blessed and enjoy abundant life in
Him. God is love He does everything for our best interest. As
He is wisdom, He knows what is best. God is love and we are
His children, so we must be children of love. Created to
receive Fathers unconditional love and give it away.
Does God need our love? God doesn’t need anything,
however we need to love and when we do, we are fulfilled in
this, as we are meant to be selfless creatures laying our lives
down for others. The only way we can enjoy eternal life is by
living in His love now. God is love and if we know Him we
will love others. The easiest way to see if someone knows
God is to see whether they walk in love or not. For years I
walked as a born again Christian thinking I am ok, thinking I
love God. All the time not loving my brothers. One day He
said to me, ‘I know you want to love Me.’ This was one of
the most shocking statement I have heard God say to me.
He then showed me that although I had forgiven my
enemies I did not love them. He said, ‘ If you really love Me
you will obey Me and love even your enemies. Now He has
taught me to love not only my friends but my enemies as
well, only now can I say, I know Love, I know God.
If we don’t really love God and others we are just religious
people going to church with no real power.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God;

and everyone who loves is born of God and knows
God. He who does not love does not know God, for
God is love. 1John4:7-8

78
When we love, four wonderful things happen
First God is pleased.
Second, our neighbours and brothers are blessed.
Third, we are healed and set free from self.
Fourth God is glorified and unbelievers will be drawn to
Him, because of our love for each other.

These wonderful results of love should motivate us to

more love. As love never fails.

9. Love God with all your heart.

As we love Him we will get to know Him as the comforter.

The Holy Spirit who lives in us is called the Comforter and
Helper. He has been sent to comfort us in our pain. All we
need to do, is go to Him in our pain. He wants to help us.
Weeping releases our pain. Only when we are in His
presence will this weeping bring healing. Those who cannot
weep will never get healed of their wounds. Blessed are
those who mourn for they shall be comforted. Mathew 5:4
As we mourn through our pain and turn to the Lord He is
able to comfort us. It is very comforting for me to know that
Jesus weeps with those who weep. As I weep so He feels my
pain. In my greatest pain in my life the greatest relief came
when I went into His presence and wept, as I did, the Holy
Spirits comfort would come over me and console me and
heal my broken heart.

79
Worship brings healing. As we focus on Him and not on
our own pain we will be healed by His presence and glory. As
we worship we are giving our lives unselfishly to Him. He
wants us to worship Him in Spirit and truth. This does not
just mean that we only sing songs of worship to Him, but
that we live a life of truth, dying to self and living for Him.
This is a sweet smelling aroma to Him. This is our highest
purpose to love with all our hearts.

If we love Him like this we will have no place for idols in our
hearts as He is our highest love. There is no danger in the
excess of loving Him – Kevin Prosch. One of our main
traps is focusing our attention and love on anything that will
eclipse our love for Him. Once this happens we now have an
idol, this can easily happen from one day to the next. God is
very jealous of our love and wants our full attention and
hearts passion. I want to love Him more, yet the enemy
seeks to draw my attention away from Him onto other
things. We must let nothing or no one ever come near the
love we have for Him. At this time the Lord is judging our
idols and they are shaking let go and repent and turn back
to your first love.

How do we know if we have an idol? An idol is

something that takes our attention from God, something
that is more important to us than spending time with Him.
Those things we spend hours thinking about or worrying
about are our idols. Worry is focusing on a problem this
causes us to turn from the Lord. The reason we worry is
because the thing we are worrying about is more important

80
than God. He says we must cast all our care upon Him. God
wants to be our all in all. This really please our Daddy in
heaven.

Loving God can cause us much pain. This happens as we

let go of our idols and our own will and desires, this pain is
necessary and good. It is growing pains, as we grow in love
we will let the flesh suffer for the sake of the Spirit. This is
where many people back away from Gods love. As soon as
there is pain and suffering for their flesh. They start to look
for another way. There is no another way, as Jesus is the
only way to the Father we must deny our selves and take up
our crosses and follow Him daily. This is our road to true
freedom as we become slaves of love we are set free. We
have a simple choice we are either slaves of the flesh and
satan or slaves of God and the spirit.

10. Love denies self, takes up your cross daily and

follows Him.

What keeps us from following Him and getting closer to Him?

Once you have denied your self and have laid your life down
at the cross you need to take up the cross and follow Him.
You can only follow Him if you have done step one and step
two. This is a process and if you try to follow Jesus without
counting the cost you will always end up denying Him when
the heat is on.

81
We need to count the cost. The price or the cost of following
Him is the cross. Are you prepared to loose everything that
is dear to you in order to follow Him.

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father

and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters,
yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
And whoever does not bear his cross and come after
Me cannot be My disciple. For which of you, intending
to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the
cost, whether he has enough to finish it— lest, after he
has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all
who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man
began to build and was not able to finish.’ Or what
king, going to make war against another king, does
not sit down first and consider whether he is able with
ten thousand to meet him who comes against him
with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still
a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks
conditions of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does
not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple. Luke
14:26-33

Taking up cross is the price. Forsaking our lives, families,

friends, careers all laid down at His precious feet. The cross
is when we do His will and not our own.
Who are Jesus’ brothers and sisters? Only those who do His
Fathers will. This is the way of the glorious cross. As we do
this we start to inherit the Kingdom of God which is His

82
righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans
14:17.

Love does seek its own. If we are mature in love we will only
seek to please our heavenly Father. Now our focus is not in
pleasing self, this is called freedom. We come into bondage
once we are focused on pleasing ourselves. Denying
ourselves is the greatest step we can take in our walk with
the Lord. Man fell through being self-centred, the only way
we will be saved is by denying self. This is one thing God
cannot do for us, we must do it our selves. This doesn’t
happen only once in our lives, but happens daily as we seek
to please Him in everything we do.

Resurrection life. The resurrection life will and can only

follow a complete death to self. Many times we as Christians
hear of the promised land and want to enter not realising
that the Jordan lies between us and the promised land. The
Jordan is the lowest place on earth and symbolises death to
self. Only those who have completely died to their own
desires and wills, will be resurrected with Him. Christianity is
not about a bunch of rules but about power and life. The life
only flows once we are dead and the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of
resurrection raises us from the dead. The more we die to
self, the more the power of God flows through us.

The great exchange. This is what I call the great

exchange, we trade our own useless lives for His glorious
life. All we have to do to make the exchange is surrender to
Him completely every day of our lives. Then His life flows

83
through us in power, changing the way we behave this is the
manifestation of Jesus Christ in and through His children.

11. Love your neighbour as your self.

We cant love God without loving our neighbour…..

My main motivator to love people is, when I do love them I

am actually loving Jesus. This gives me great
encouragement to keep loving them, for as I do, I am
actually loving Jesus my dearest friend. 1John4:20-21,
We need to love our enemies. We give people power in our
lives if we hate them.

Love seeks to give. As love is not selfish or self seeking it

always seeks to give to others more than it receives. Loves
seeks the best and thinks the best of those who hurt them
Love always seeks to give to others and not receive. As I
seek to love others and focus on helping those worse off
than me I will get healed by helping others. As we allow His
love for others to flow through us His love heals us of our
ailments. As soon as we fall into the trap of looking at
ourselves we get caught up in all our pain and cant get out.
Focus on the others person pain, especially those who cause
you the pain. There are always people in more pain than us.
Let us help the wounded. This will bring us healing as His
healing flows through us into others. There is a place where
all the hurting people are. We need to go and help them. As

84
we do this it helps us to focus on Him and others and not our
selves.

Love covers.
Love forgives and forgets the sin of others. As we love
others we will not seek to expose them and their sins but
seek to cover them and rather go to them and deal with the
sin according to Mathew 18:15-17. Yet if we are not healed
from the pain they caused us we will always seek to expose
and hurt them in front of others this is our vengeance on
them for hurting us.
We don’t hide the sin, we cover in order to help our brother
out of it, so His sin is not exposed to the world bringing
shame on the Lords name.
If we sow mercy we will reap mercy. He says bless our
enemies those who cause us all the pain.

We need corporate fellowship and discipleship in His

body

The natural body is designed to heal its self, so to with the

body of Christ. We are to release healing to each other in
discipleship groups in His body. This healing comes through
love, understanding and wisdom. We need to have a formal
way of bringing healing to every member of His body, this
way is through biblical discipleship. Therefore answer for the
wounds of this terrible war is through biblical discipleship.
Please refer to CD and notes for the Manual for the Manual
of the Disciples of Jesus.

85
We need to share our wounds and weakness so we can have
others pray for us and with us for healing. Confess your
trespasses to one another, and pray for one another,
that you may be healed. James 5:16 This brings healing
and comfort. Like blood flowing to the wound in the natural
body brings healing so we are healed in fellowship with the
brethren who really love us.

12. Face and embrace your pain. There is no fear in

love.

As we have now learnt to die daily we loose our fear of

natural death in fact we look forward to that day. As it is the
day we see the Lord face to face in glory. What a wonderful
privilege to die. So as we die daily we see Him clearer and
clearer. As no man can see His face and live. We need to die
to see Him. Love is not afraid of pain.
We feel afraid of those who hurt us because of our fear of
pain and lack of love for people especially those who have
hurt us in some way.
Love faces problems and people who have hurt them to deal
with the hurt and issues working through till there is victory.
These are the real overcomers. Anyone can divorce or break
a friendship but few are prepared to grow through the pain
of healing wounds

86
I have found that when I run from pain or resist it, it
somehow always seems to catch up with me and overcomes
me. The best thing to do is face our pain.
We run from our pain because we have fear of pain, we are
afraid of pain.
We also are not trusting God to comfort us in our pain. He is
the great comforter.
One of the pitfalls, is ignoring our pain by locking that area
of our life with don’t trespass sign to our thoughts. However
when we do this we unknowing keep Jesus out of that area.
Satan now traffics in this dark area of pain in our lives. He
plays havoc with our minds and abuses our painful
experiences at the most inconvenient times. It is like he has
chain attached to our past pain which he pulls when he does
it causes us to react in anger or some other fleshly way.

When we face the pain with Jesus as our Friend and the Holy
spirit as our Comforter then we will be healed as He will
weep with us as we surrender this deep pain to Him. We
have to admit we need healing first before we can get
healed.
The Lord wants us to embrace His suffering as a friend. We
need a deep realization that when we are persecuted for
Jesus sake it is an act of Gods blessing to us. This might
sound impossible, but it is attainable with Gods help.
Mat5:11-12

“When people malign you, rejoice and be glad. When they

curse you, bless them in return. When you walk though a
painful experience, embrace it and you will be free! When

87
you learn these lessons, there is nothing left that the
world can do to you. God is my witness that through all
the tortures and beatings I have received I have never
hated my persecutors. Never. I saw them as Gods
instruments of blessing and His chosen vessels to purify
me make me more like Jesus.” From the
book the Heavenly Man by Brother Yun. He spent many
years in prison suffering for Jesus in China.

13. Love believes all things:

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he
who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He
is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6
A major cause of pain is unbelief. When we are in unbelief,
our faith and hope are gone, this us to enter the pain of
discouragement. As now don’t believe that things will
change.

He wants us to trust Him with our pain.

“Do you trust me with your pain, my child? I can only
heal you to the degree you love and trust Me. As you
give Me your pain I pour Myself into the wound. I
want so much to heal you my beloved. All you need to
do is trust Me.”
One day my eldest daughter fell and cut her knee badly, she
hates any physical pain so she was in a state of pain and
great fear. Screaming and crying all at once. My heart went
to her and I tried to help her but she was afraid of the pain.
To help her I asked her over and over do you trust me?

88
Eventually she said ok and I could help her get the wound
cleaned up. I could only help her and deal with her wound if
she trusted me enough to let me help her. Only once we
trust God will we allow Him to deal with our pain. Yet we
have deep fear of more pain. When we deal with pain in
other we must be very gentle as going into an old wound will
cause the person more pain as we go there. Yet once the
operation is over the wound is healed and the pain is now
removed by the healing power of Jesus.

When we come to him we MUST believe in Him and then we

will be rewarded with His presence and revelation. He is our
exceedingly great reward. Genesis 15:2
Only through faith in God and His word will be healed from
our pain. 1Peter 2:24-25 not just physically but emotionally
mentally. He is the shepherd of soul.
Only through trusting in Him will we be able to bear the pain
we are called to go through as Christians.
Only we truly believe do we enter the rest of faith. Hebrews
3 & 4.
It is only through faith that we enter the glory of His
presence and find rest for our souls. Hebrews 6:19

Joy in the mourning.

We will have sorrow but our sorrow will be turned to joy
John16:20-22
One moment may with bliss repay Unnumbered hours of
pain. [‘The Ritter Bann’] Campbell, Thomas (1777–1844)
Love never gives up:

89
Only through faith and longsuffering will we inherit His
promises. Hebrews 6:12; 1Peter 1:4
Love is very disciplined as we are called to be disciples, the
word comes from disciplined. We need to be disciplined
concerning every part of our lives.
A disciplined person who is filled with faith, hope and love
will never give up as they know God will always come
through for us in the end

Love casts out fear.

We are all afraid of our enemies if we don’t love them.
Because they hurt us. We overcome this fear through loving
them on our knees.

Love hopes all things.

Hope deferred make sour heart grow sick. How often we
have severe wounds because some of our promises were
delayed. This causes major pain. When we love Him and
trust in Him we have hope. He is our eternal hope. The
enemy wants to steal our hope with tribulations and
discouragement. If we he can steal our hope we are basically
in terrible darkness. Seeing there is not such thing for a
Christian as hopelessness we need to always have hope that
He will heal and save us. His presence brings hope His word
brings hope. The encouragement of brother brings hope.
Keep the vision and prophecies alive in our heart at all
times.

Love will always give thanks and praise the Father as we

praise and thank Him our focus is now on Him and not our

90
issue. No matter what, we need to learn the habit of thanks
giving and contentment. 1Timothy 6:6. As we enter His
courts with thanks and enter His courts with praise this is
what please Him

14. Nothing heals us like love. Knowing He is love and

knowing His love.
One of His names is Yahweh Raphe. This means, Lord
Healer. His name is Jesus, which means salvation, salvation
includes healing not only for our bodies but for our wounded
souls.
Focus on His wounds brings us healing. Isaiah 53.
Malachi 4:2 The Son of righteousness will arise with
healing in His wings.
His love restores our soul. Psalm 23

When Jesus came to earth because of great mercy He healed

all manner of sickness and healed all who were oppressed by
the devil. God does not oppress us, satan does. Our fight is
not against flesh and blood but against principalities and
powers. We need to know how to fight as Jesus has provided
more than enough power, armour and weaponry for us to
overcome every attack of satan. Satan attacks our bodies to
get to our minds and spirits. We can only overcome satan if
our spirits and souls are whole. Jesus came to make us
whole. To set at liberty all those who are bound and to bind
up the broken and bruised. He is the great physician who
heals all our diseases including the disease of sin. The thief
has come to steal and kill and destroy Jesus has come to

91
give us life and life more abundantly. Let us receive this life
now by faith.

Love ever lives to intercede for us.

Jesus the faithful high Priest. Hebrews 2:17-18; 4:15; 5:8;
7:24-25. Jesus was called to suffer so that He could
intercede for us a faithful High Priest. So now His
intercessors will have to go through much suffering to
qualify as intercessors. We will comfort those with our
comfort. Our freedom lies in loving those in pain around us.
Jesus who is love, ever lives to intercede for us. When we
are filled with His love in our hearts this is when are free.
This only happens as we are healed and filled with his
fullness. We cant help but pray continually for others. We
pray for enemies not because we have to do it we pray for
them because we are so filled with love for them. This brings
Love so much glory and honour, God is Love.

Two ministries in heaven right now.

Intercession: Jesus and those with Him are always praying
for others especially their enemies. They don’t accuse, they
say Father forgive them they don’t know what they are
doing. Love covers others sins and prays for them.

Accusation: The enemy and those against Jesus, are

bringing accusation to the throne of God as we as Christians
accuse each other. We are seated in heavenly places in
Christ and as we accuse each other we are doing the job of

92
the devil. Devil in Greek means accuser. This is releasing
great demonic power against the Church of Jesus Christ. One
day when this civil war is over we will never do this again.
We are all called as intercessors if we see Him now
interceding for us and the nations we will join Him and pray
with Him and not stand against Him.

15. Love humbles itself.

Admit you are weak. You might say that if I do this no one
will like me everyone likes a success. Well this is true and
false. Those who really love God don’t love others because of
success but love unconditionally. Those who don’t want to be
friends with you because of your weaknesses are do not
really know God. They don’t know His love and they don’t
really love you. But You, O GOD the Lord, Deal with me
for Your name’s sake; Because Your mercy is good,
deliver me. For I am poor and needy, And my heart is
wounded within me. I am gone like a shadow when it
lengthens; I am shaken off like a locust. My knees are
weak through fasting, And my flesh is feeble from lack
of fatness. Psalm 109:21-24
The world and pride says weakness is bad, admitting your
pain is bad. Once we admit we have pain and are in trouble,
we are on the road to recovery. Now we walk out our healing
on this road by following Jesus.

Admitting our weakness is a sign of humility, pride says, “I

am ok, I am strong”. The word says, let the weak say I am

93
strong. Only those who are weak can say they are strong.
The reason we can say we are strong is because in our
weakness His grace is sufficient. He gives is grace to the
humble and the weak He heals. He cannot heal a person who
doesn’t admit they are sick. Those who are sick need a
doctor the Pharisees thought they were ok. Only those who
are humble can say I need help.

Admit we are wrong. We all have some part in most of our

pain. We need to admit we have made mistakes and confess
our sins to our Father and to our brother. This will bring
healing to us and to them.

Humble loving people well restore broken

relationships.
Fathers heart for every broken relationship is that it
be reconciled through Christ’s love and the
relationship be restored to its original purpose.
Understanding the key to loving others.
 Know God: Proverbs 9v10
• Knowing God is understanding
 First forgive them
Then love them with all your heart on your knees
• Seek to understand the person causing you
the pain. Pray for understanding to see why
they do the things they do.
• Pray for them releasing His love over them.
 Go to them:
• Timing is everything. Example. If you have
two wounded lions they will wound each other

94
even further. Hurt people hurt others. The
flesh’s only way to relieve pain is to give pain.
Satan does this all the time with his pain, as
his gives pain this somehow gives him a
release of his pain seeing someone else’s
suffer.
• Only go to them if you are ready and the Lord
releases you otherwise you could just cause
more pain.

The only reason we have a problem loving people, is

because we are afraid of the pain we have and the pain
loving can give us.

Basically love suffers long, the very start of love is suffering

with or for those you love. This is the foundation of true love.
We will suffer with and for those we love.

LOVE NEVER FAILS

16. Comfort for those who have lost loved ones who are
saved.
The wonderful truth for someone who has lost someone who is
saved, is that we will see them again. This is our hope and this
is what we must focus on, not the loss. Just think that they are
safe in heaven no more pain no more suffering jus pure joy and
peace in His love this is something we can rejoice over. 1

95
Thessalonians 4:13-18 But I do not want you to be
ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen
14
asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so
God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.15 For
this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who
are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by
16
no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord
Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And
17
the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive
and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall
18
always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one
another with these words.

Suffering and pain is the call of the last day church

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows

and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our
faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not
esteem Him. Isaiah 53:3

Persecution and tribulations

If we are to be like Him we too will have grief and pain for
the sake of the gospel like the early church the last day

96
church will grow through much persecution as God pours out
His glory on the earth. When the church finally rises up and
take her place those in the earth who love darkness will be
extremely threatened and will either run from us or attack
us because of their pain.

Jesus has pain now

Paul said to fill up that is lacking in His sufferings.
We need to weep with Him as His heart aches over the pain
in His body as we fight with each other. He aches and feels
the pain of every person who has pain on earth every rape
every murder, every child abuse He sees and feels in his
heart. His heart aches over His wife who doesn’t really love
Him. She is so busy trying to comfort herself from all her
wounds when all the time He is the only one who can heal
her.
One of the main motivations for me to stop sinning against
Him is that He has shown me the pain it causes Him when I
do. Because I love Jesus so much, I don’t want to cause Him
pain. It causes me more pain to sin against Him now than
ever before when I realise this. Yet I still sin when my pain
has not been overcome in His presence through love,
wisdom and understanding.
We need to have His heart to able to have compassion and
empathy for others in pain.

Basically love suffers long the very start of love is suffering

for those you love. This is the foundation of true love. We
will suffer with and for those we love.

A PRACTICAL WAY TO OVERCOME OUR MOUNTAINS

If you would like a fantastic tool to help you overcome pain through
counselling with Jesus and the Holy Spirit then this book will really
help you.

BREAKTHROUGH SO WE CAN BREAKOUT INTO HIS PROMISES

AND PLANS

This book is written for those who deeply long for, desire and pursue
the testimony of Jesus Christ; being overcomers in this world. It
should be our aim to hear the Lord say one day in heaven; “well done
good and faithful servant”. One of the main areas of struggle in the
Body of Christ today is fulfilling our callings and finishing the race.
Our callings are some of the mountains that we have to go through.
From the moment God gives us the first word and prophecy for our
lives, the enemy who knows Gods voice, now seeks to stop us from
completing Gods will and from receiving Gods blessings and promises
for our lives. As we start to obey God in each area, the enemy will
come against us in various ways, attacking, wounding, deceiving and
resisting us in every way. The areas of demonic blockages can be
financial, ministry, relationship and health etc. This process will teach
us how to effectively overcome strongholds and blockages that are

98
standing between us and Gods will for our lives. It will help us to
breakthrough so we can breakout into His promises for our lives.

In many cases we have the same issues/strongholds for years and we

never seem to really breakthrough them. We know that it is wrong
and we are desperately trying to overcome, yet, we can’t seem to
breakthrough. Each time we are confronted with the same or similar
set of circumstances we end up falling into the same old pattern and
pits, never really getting the victory.

I am so thankful to the Lord for giving me the Heart to Heart with

Jesus chart; it has really helped me and others to face and overcome
major mountains in our lives. I trust it will also help you overcome
yours.

Counselling tool

This process is wonderful tool in the hands of leaders and pastors. It

can be used when a person is battling with any specific area. No
matter where the problem is; whether it is at home or in their jobs or
ministries etc; this process will help them go through it and overcome
it with Jesus. This will save a huge amount of counselling time and
will help the person get connect directly with the main counsellor, the
Holy Spirit and Jesus. Jesus is the source of all life. People are
changed as they hear God speak directly to them. Just one word from
God can and will change our lives for ever.

99
This tool also is an excellent tool to help counsel someone who has
gone through some major trauma; it is also very useful for
deliverance from strongholds. As we walk through this process with
the person, the Holy Spirit will do all the work in the person.

It also helps to solve issues of relationship problems etc. Example, if

you have two people who are not able to work in unity then they can
both work through their mountains – there mountain would be
defined as: Walking and working with John or Jenny etc. As the
counsellor/facilitator you could then look at both “heart charts” and
see where you could help each person better understand and
overcome. The main counsellor always is the Lord himself. This is
what makes this chart so awesome and powerful.

Each person is set free as they face their mountains and go through
them. The Lord has shown us that going through it is more fruitful
than going over it.
