All seems ok for the Minister's meeting with Mary Dickson (FirstGroup) on Wednesday when she'll set out
FG's plans for ScotRail. Angie has kindly arranged for a projector and laptop to be in the meeting room
(103, Queensbury House) in response to FG's request - thanks Angie.

I've prompted Mary to speak for about 15 minutes leaving plenty time for discussion. I've also altered her
to the Minister's favourite topics on the franchise so there should be no surprises. I understand that Mary
wil1 be accompanied by Gordon Dewar and Chris Winslow.

Although I'm down to attend, unfortunately I'll have to drop out due to a family funeral. However,
Kenneth wil1 attend in my absence

Tom

Further to my telephone call of today, and my previous discussion with the minister Nicol Stephen ara
constituency event, I write in regard to setting up an informal dinner. NJUG (National Joint Utilities Group)
represents members in gas, electricity, water and telecoms industries and is currently taking an active interest
in the Transport (Scotland) Bill with obvious reference to the section on Utility Roadworks.

Recognising the Transport brief is very wide NJUG, whose members provide essential services, feel it would
be beneficial to all concerned to have an informal dinner with the minister and members of his team. This
would help develop a good working relationship and an understanding of each others key concerns in an
informal setting. Obviously this will not cut across any formal meetings or representations however should aid
any future or ongoing dialogue.

I would be grateful of you could suggest some dates and potential attendees. Once confirmed I will make the
necessary bookings and associated arrangements

Thank for your help in this matter
