Adjustments:
Step 1: Set the Function Switch to OFF position. Remove the rear case of the meter.
Set the jumper, mounted on PC board, from Normal to Calibration position.
Reattach the battery.
Apply - 900 VDC to V- and COM jacks and let reading settle
Press HOLD button (a beep sound is audible) to save setting.
LCD will indicate - 900.0 V ± 1 digit.
Apply + 900 A to A/mA and COM jacks and let reading settle
Press HOLD button (a beep sound is audible).
LCD will indicate 900.0 A ± 1 digit.
5-2. 4 mH Adjustment
Press RANGE button to select 4 mH range.
Apply 1 mH to A/mA and COM jacks and let reading settle
Press HOLD button (a beep sound is audible).
LCD will indicate 1.000 mH ± 1 digit.
5-4. 40 mH Adjustment
Press RANGE button to select 40 mH range.
Apply 10 mH to A/mA and COM jacks and let reading settle
Press HOLD button (a beep sound is audible).
LCD will indicate 10.00 mH ± 2 digits.
5-6. 4 H Adjustment
Set switch to ‘H’
37XR Calibration Procedure Rev 000 4 of 7
Calibration Sheet Procedure for Item Number
Fluke Corporation 1779722
Product: 37XR
5-7. 40 H Adjustment
Press RANGE button to select 40 H range.
Apply 10 H to A/mA and COM jacks and let reading settle
Press HOLD button (a beep sound is audible).
LCD will indicate 10.00 mH ± 2 digits.
Step 6: After finishing above calibration procedures, romvoe the test leads, set the meter to OFF position, and replace
the jumper on PC board back to the ‘Normal’ position. Reassemble the meter for normal safe operation.
Step 7: If any of above calibration procedures are not accomplished before the meter returns to a normal mode, the
meter will show ‘1.Err’ or ‘2.Err’ in the display.

VAC-REV** - Reverse the leads at the calibrator so that the high side is on the COM input.
HOLD - Pick a range and insert a signal appropriate for the range. Press the 'HOLD' button and remove the signal. The
reading should still be on the display. Press 'HOLD' again to release the 'HOLD' function.
MIN MAX AVG - Pick a range/function, press the 'MIN MAX AVG' button, and insert a group of signals appropriate for the
range. Remove the input source. Press the 'MIN MAX AVG' button to display the Minimum, Maximum, and Average
readings.
RANGE - This meter is autoranging and the RANGE button allows the user to select and lock in a desired range.
PEAK - The PEAK button is an updating 'Hold' function of the Peak (1.414 * rms) value of AC voltage or current signals.
'Peak +' is the positive side value and 'Peak -' is the negative side value.
REL - Pick a range/function, insert a (reference) signal appropriate for the range, and press the 'REL' button, and the
display should show 000. Input a different signal and the display should show the difference between the reference signal
and the current input.
TTL CMOS - allows selection of either TTL logic levels or CMOS logic levels.
uF * - If standard capacitors are not available, good quality low dissipation capacitors can be used. The capacitors should
be characterized for the actual capacitance at 25 Hz. Also, the specification limits should be recalculated.
mH * - If standard inductors are not available, good quality low frequency, low Q toroidal inductors can be used. The
inductors should be characterized for the actual inductance at 1000 / 200 Hz. Also, the specification limits should be
recalculated.
