We have been working hard on the
comprehension strategy of RETELLING!
Practice this strategy at home after reading
at night. Be sure to have your child retell
from the beginning of the story to the end.
Encourage them to use details and retell the
story events in order.

A Ponderosa HEART Healthy
Valentine’s Day!!!
Our Party will be on
Monday, February 14th from 1:45 – 2:30!
We will also be having a school wide
HEART Healthy Hall Hop the last 15
minutes of the school day. Our focus this
year is on a healthy HEART! Therefore,
we are encouraging students to ONLY
bring a Valentine’s Day Card for each
classmate.

We would like to welcome David
Frawley to our 1st Grade Family! Mr.
Frawley will be replacing Mrs.
Yarberry who is unable to continue in
Mrs. Brinkman’s class due to health
reasons. Mr. Frawley is a product of
the Thompson School District and a
graduate of The University of
Northern Colorado. We are so
excited to have him on board as our
