World Navies Today: Other American Navies

Revised 26 October 2001

Version 1.13

Compiled by: Juan Carlos Barroux R.
World Navies Today Main Page: http://www.hazegray.org/worldnav/
This list includes the smaller navies of this region, which are too small to warrant full
fleet lists.

This list includes all surface combatants, submarines, mine warfare vessels and patrol
craft over 100 tons displacement, and all amphibious ships and auxiliaries over 500 tons
displacement. Non-self-propelled craft and vessels without seagoing capability are not
included.

Ships not yet commissioned, or in long-term overhaul/conversion, are listed in [brackets].

Navigation and surface-search radars are not listed. All designations & classifications are
unofficial; they may or may not correspond to "official" designations.

Cuba Honduras
Dominican Republic Jamaica
El Salvador Panama
Guatemala Paraguay

Note: All of Surinam's coastal patrol boats were inoperable as of 1997; they are overage
and in poor condition. They are unlikely to be repaired. The nation has therefore been
dropped from this listing.
Cuba

Note: In recent years the Cuban navy has nearly ceased to exist.
All submarines, frigates, minecraft, patrol vessels and amphibious
craft
are reported to be non-operational, derilect, permanently moored,
hulked,
etc. The following listing represents a best-case survey of the
remaining operational vessels of 100 tons or more displacement. Many
vessels listed are probably inoperable, and the decline in Cuban forces
is expected to continue without end.
