I want to thank Mr. Peter
Hannaford for his
inspirational speech on the
Legacy of President Ronald
Reagan. It makes me
remember what a truly great
leader he was.
I just returned from the
Northern Division Spring
Conference hosted by Region
4 in Jackson, CA. It was held
in the new Jackson Rancheria
Hotel and what a spectacular
edifice! Eureka Republican
Women were honored for our
70 years of supporting the
National Federation of
Republican Women, which
makes us among the oldest
clubs in California! I
reunited with many ladies
that I hadn’t seen in a while.
However, I didn’t make it to
the Casino. Never the less,
we had a great time. Thank
you so much. When Women
Work We win!
Remember, April 23rd is
tax freedom day—this is
when you quit paying the
government and actually get
to keep what you earn.

We all have been watching
and listening to the fright
coming from those who
believe that global warming is
going to destroy us all. We
are told that we are responsible
for ruining the planet.
Albert Einstein once said,
“Human beings, vegetables, or
cosmic dust...we all dance to a
mysterious tune, intoned in the
distance by an invisible
piper.”
I like to believe the
“invisible piper” Einstein
refers to is the God of
creation. The God who holds
power over nature, who owns
both the dawn and the
midnight. The creator who
made butterflies and redwood
trees.
I like the question of Rush
Limbaugh when he asked,
“Who is puny man to think
they can control nature?”
Those of us who put our
trust in the God who created
us, do not fear of earth’s
temperatures. Those who put
their trust in a religion that
worships the creation instead
of the creator, fears the
unknown and delves into
scenarios that try to frighten us
all. How foolish it really is to
try to change the climate by
changing light bulbs.
We have nothing to fear
when we know God is still on
the throne of heaven and has
everything under
control. Even earth’s
temperatures.

If you want to know just how effective the mainstream media is, it is amazing how many people in the categories above think Bush is a failure
and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If either Democrat is elected, they both promise to repeal the Bush tax cuts and raise all taxes
on the "rich," which they define as a single person earning $31,000 or a couple earning $52,000...and that means most of us.
John McCain has vowed not to raise any taxes, period.

gave a wonderful account of
President Ronald Reagan and

President Reagan is dead we
continue to appreciate a man

article because I had a major
school deadline and the
newsletter needed to go to
press. Turns out, I
disappointed my mom. She
missed her eldest daughter’s
article! So… Mom, this one is

Saturday, March 29th I
attended Brad Dacus’ seminar
at the Calvary Chapel in
Arcata. Many of you will
remember Brad as our guest
speaker from last September’s
luncheon meeting. On
Saturday, Brad focused on
home schooling and parental
rights in California. A recent
court decision said that home
schooling in California is
illegal unless one parent has a

Michelle Obama recently
announced that for the first
time in her life she was proud
of the United States.
Her oft quoted remark was,

because Barack has done well,

Taking a look at Mrs.
Obama's biography makes one
wonder just what causes her
great personal need for change
and lack in pride for her
country?. Does she just itch for
a change in the system that
made it possible for her Ivy
League education? Should it be
great impact his life has made
in history.
Mr. Hannaford brought
books he has written and our
club was given 10% of the
book sales. Thank you Mr.
Peter Hannaford for sharing
your stories and for the sales
receipts. The amount of
money for the Hannaford
book sales was $41.80.

charter schools and how they
figure into the whole education
picture in California. When
the voucher was being pushed,

schools were the brainchild of
some teachers. Their
reasoning was that it would
appease parents and still keep
the money in the public school
system. The voucher idea was
shot down, so the focus
became home schooling
parents. Each child who is
being home schooled is a
potential $8,000 dollars that
the public school system would
