Introduction
Mobile number Portability (MNP) In this service the mobile user can switch to
other service provider without changing the mobile numbers. Both prepaid and
postpaid tele-users have the facility to switch to other favorable tele-operators.
Consumers have given an authority to change their service provider if they were
unhappy with some services.

The service, which was initially launched in Haryana is being taken nationwide in
a bid to ensure that people dissatisfied with the quality of service of the existing
telecom providers are given a choice while being able to retain their phone
numbers.

This Study majorly focuses on To know whether the consumers want to


change their current mobile service provider when they are permitted to retain the
current mobile phone number that they had.
This study covers following service providers:
1. Airtel
2. Vodafone
3. Reliance
4. TATA DOCOMO
5. Idea

The Study also emphasizes on which are the influencing factors causing
consumers to change their service providers.
Following are some Influencing factors

1. Price Of Services

2. Quality of services

3. Network

4. Varieties of product offered

and also to find out which is the most preferred service provider brand to which
consumers willing to shift.
Objectives of Study

1. To Study and Analyze Consumer Perception towards mobile number


portability services and their intention to avail service provider.

2. To Study and analyze factors Influencing consumer perception to change


their service provider.

3. To determine the rate of switching of customers to different service


providers

4. To analyse the most preffered service provider.

Scope of the Study


It is aimed to study Indian telecom sector and consumer perception towards mobile
number portability services. To know whether People want to change their current
mobile service provider when they are permitted to retain the current mobile phone
number that they have. And also what are the factors which influence consumers to
change their service provider.
Research Methodology

Primary data is collected by surveying the Consumers of different service


providers.

Secondary data is collected from secondary sources such as

3. Sample Size
Sample size taken for the survey is 150 and the sampling technique used is
Random Sampling.
