The company produces various types of products such as:

1. Bolted Round type fuses.
2. Bolted type (cylindrical fuses).
3. HRC fuses (High Rupturing Capacity).
4. Knife fuses.
5. Square fuses of German pattern.
6. ‘J’ and ‘G’ type fuses used in Railway signals.

1. Ceramic body.

Ceramic body is purchased from Ahmedabad

2. Copper

Copper is purchased from Gujarat and Daman

3. Silica

Silica is purchased from Gujarat

4. Aluminium

Aluminium is purchased from local market Kalbadevi (Metal

market).

A. The Tool Room:

The tool room consist of various machines used to produce
parts of the power pressed machines used in manufacturing
the various products of the company. In the Tool Room, Leth
Machine is regarded as the ‘Mother of Machines’.

B. Cutting the Raw material:

This step includes cutting raw materials like Copper,
Aluminium, etc., used for manufacturing fuses.

12
Following are the metals involved in the process:
1. The thick copper strips which are up to 7 cm in length
and 2.5 cm in breadth. These strips act as connectivity
between the actual HRC fuses and the fuse bases.
2. The aluminium sheets are used to pack silica in the
ceramic body.
3. The thin copper strips used for connectivity inside the
fuse.
All the cutting process is carried on with the help
of Power Pressed and Hand Pressed Machines.

C. Plating:
The various metal parts used to manufacture the fuses are
given plates of silver and tin.

D. Soldering:
In this step, the thin copper strips used for internal
connectivity are soldered. These copper elements are
regarded as the ‘Heart Beat’ or ‘Life’ of the fuse.

E. Numbering and Screening:

A small description of the fuse manufactured, which includes
its name, the amperes (unit), the IS no. etc., is printed on the
porcelain body of the fuse.

13
F. Spot Welding:
Here, the thin copper strips are actually planted in the
ceramic body of the fuse and welding is done wherever
required.

G. Filling the Silica:

Minute silica quartzes are filled in the ceramic body, which
causes better absorption and concentration of heat.

H. Joining the different parts of the fuse:

An Electric Screw driving machine is used to join all the
different parts of the fuse together. This is the process which
gives us the final body of the product.

I. Resistance checking:
A digital Resistance checking instrument is used to denote
the ampere (unit) of each fuse inserted in the instrument’s
plates.
The total testing time of these fuses is 8 hrs.

J. Cleaning:
The fuse parts once checked are cleaned thoroughly to give
a finishing effect.

14
K. Packing:
Once the fuses are cleaned they are packed in small plastic
pouches. As per the stock required by different companies,
they are packed in boxes. Each box is labelled which states
the number of fuses and their description.

L. Forwarding:
Once the fuses are packed, in big slots they are forwarded to
the company who has placed that respective order.
