The meeting commenced with a brief description by Salitha on the fund raising
strategy adopted by ANEW. It was then thrown open for discussion to plan the
fund raiser for Dean Foundation on World Hospice Day –Saturday, the 11th of
October 2008.
The following is the outcome of the discussion:
1. Cary’s suggestion of having a street food festival served hygienically that
evening along with music, mime and magic thrown in, met with unanimous
approval.
2. The only other event that evening would be the release of the Souvenir.
3. The programme itself is not to exceed 2 hours including a brief poignant power
point presentation of Dean Foundation.
4. Admission to the programme strictly by selling entry passes
5. Aim is to target a 500 strong audience of the ‘above 25 year olds’ holding
respectable positions, willing and able to contribute.
6. Deepa’s suggestion of taking out a FLOAT around the city on the 4th of
October to create awareness On Dean Foundation was considered a brilliant
idea and all efforts to be made to make it happen ---even for two Saturdays prior
to the event if possible.
7. Passes for a raffle draw to be sold at the Venue. 5 Prizes to be given away.
8. Only press releases and follow up before the event.
9. Invite a celebrity as ‘Guest of Honour’ for the evening.
10. All members present, the staff and other volunteers of Dean Foundation to
sell entry passes and mobilize Sponsors for the event.
11. A power point presentation to be forwarded to Solomon for circulation in HCL
for creating awareness and fund raising.

All members are requested to get started on their respective jobs immediately.
Next meeting to be held after the 4th of August to freeze the project cost,
Sponsorship rates, finalize the Venue and Program Format, presence of
celebrity, cost and design of entry and raffle passes.
