Important Dates On Campus At Last!

Since we arrived it has seemed like a non-stop whirlwind of action. We wake up
March 2 MY BIRTHDAY!!!! head out to pray, or to go a meeting, or to campus, or to whatever else it is that

meet students, plan events, return emails, and then lay down in our beds wondering

and helping with follow up. this year faster than ever, and somehow in the midst of it all God seems to be very

Galatians 5:1. For Freedom February began with our student leadership meeting. We spent an entire day

March 18-21 Prayer Retreat for all tiny details of our two weeks of welcome we had approaching.

During our first week of welcome we planned a few events. On Monday we went
Africa., to seek God’s out and shared the gospel, Tuesday we had a pool party, Wednesday and Thursday
vision for our ministry. purchased over 400 ice cream bars to hand out to students who would ask/answer
a question with us. All of these events went very well and we met many new
students who desired to get plugged in. One of the students we met who really
stands out to me in Ben. I met him on Tuesday and by the next Thursday he was
playing in our worship band and helping set up for the different events we were
having! Praise the Lord for bringing us more faithful servants and students who
desire to lead this Cru movement!
One Saturday we invited students to join us at Ukukhanya to help fix the place up!
We had around 30 people there working to help clean, fold laundry, play with the
kids, unclog drains, cut the grass, weed the garden. It was a day filled with lots of
hard work. The grass there was around 3 feet high when we arrived, and we had a
We had our first weekly meeting at the Edgewood campus for interested students. It seems like
students are very interested in the Gospel and what we are doing at this campus. Around 15
students attended and seemed very interested in camp and community groups. We played
volleyball after the meeting with a few other students. Last week there were strikes on campus
so we haven’t been back yet. Pray this week we can continue to follow-up with the hundred or

A new year with a God sized vision!
a weed-whacker, 2 dull machetes,
and a pair of scissors to work with in
order to cut the grass down to size.
We worked non-stop and I literally
swung a huge machete until my hand
bled, and then kept at it with a pair of
scissors. Talk about going to work!
However what really amazed me is
that in 7 hours of work, I did not
hear 1 person complain. We all
understood that this would mean so
much to the people there and it really
did. I even had a nurse come up and
explain to me just how much joy it
brought her to see what we had done.
Also it helped having History around
and knowing now it was a little safer
for him to run around in the field,
without worrying what creepy reptile
could be hiding in the grass.
The next week on campus we
continued with our outreaches. This
time we spent more time having
individual conversations and inviting
people to our meeting on Friday. Our
meeting was just before Valentine’s
PRAY!!!!!!!!!!
~ Pray for our current student
leaders. Pray they are students who
are truly encountering, experiencing,
and expressing the compelling love of
Christ. Pray they would also catch
the vision of reaching the students
they are in class with, or who they
are living with, or communing with
in a natural relational setting.
~ Pray for the camp we are planning
for this weekend. Our theme is going
to be on finding freedom in Christ
from the strongholds in our life.
Those things that weigh us down and
Valentine’s Day!
Day so the students made our first talks
them: “Who is your first love?” It was a
fun thing to speak on. I spoke about how
we are God’s first love and how
according to the book of Hosea he
desires to love us passionately as our
husband. He even takes us back and
buys us out of the adultery we
continuously commit. I had fun with it,
especially as I addressed the men in the
room challenging them to think about
being God’s bride.
Even with a big turn out to the meeting,
what brought me the most joy during
this time was seeing the ownership the
students took for reaching Westville.
They planned everything and I only had
to show up. They planned details for
community groups, and worked out who
had to be there and what needed to be
done first! It blew my mind! It was as if
we never left campus. The team leaders
knew their roles and each team was
functioning perfectly, and together it
looked like a well-oiled machine!
INCREDIBLE!
keep us hiding. I believe God has
something big in store so pray we all do
not miss it, and experience Him in
incredible ways!
~Pray for Anele and Mdu as they
continue to raise funds. Pray they reach
100% soon and can join our team and
provide male leadership to the
campuses.
~Pray for many students from our two
new campuses to come to camp.
~Pray for our team as we unite as a
family.

OSTRICH!
Now we are in our fourth week on
campus. Community Groups seem to be
catching on many students seem
interested in being involved in them. Each
one is focused on reaching a particular
area of campus and the students
understand what that means. Many of
them are even asking about discipleship
and how they are to choose disciples and
begin to lead them. God has
overwhelmed me by the blessings he
offers me from these students!
I believe now he desires to revive their
hearts to inspire revival throughout the
rest of the campus. Friday I was able to
speak on how God has been reviving my
heart by teaching me to walk in the light
in my relationships; in other words, how
to be truly honest in all my relationships.
It seemed to pose a challenge for the
students and I am excited to see how that
lesson leads into this next weekend as we
discuss how to gain further freedom as we
see God’s desire to heal our hearts!

we are daily experiencing the Gospel, and
operating out of the overflow of the joy of
our salvation as God’s light shines and
reflects from us.
~ Pray for wisdom as we brainstorm
ways to reach 10,000 students on each
campus with the Gospel in August.
