1 = Zafira’s ESP helps the driver maintain full control
of the vehicle during adverse or emergency conditions.
ESP technology is designed to monitor the front and rear
of the car independently and compare the respective
directions of travel with the driver’s steering wheel input.
If either the front or rear of the vehicle begins to slide,
ESP gently applies corrective braking to the appropriate
individual road wheel, controlling the slide and
maintaining safe progress. ESP is utilised in conjunction
with traction control to promote safer driving under all
road conditions.
2 = Full-size curtain airbags are available throughout the
range to provide front and second row passengers with
added protection during a side-impact collision. Hidden
from view along the headlining, the curtain airbag system
deploys to form a large trapezoidal shape, covering the
front and second row seat side windows in under 30
milliseconds. When fully inflated they help protect the
occupant’s head and upper body from the effects of a
lateral impact and considerably reduce the risk of injury
from shattered window glass.

The Vauxhall carphone
Available on all Zafira models, the Vauxhall
carphone (CCRT 700) is a state-of-the-art
GSM mobile phone and a stereo radio/
cassette with CD control ability, all fully
integrated into one unit. The radio, cassette
and phone all share the same facia control
panel, remote display and steering wheel
mounted audio controls.
You simply insert your existing mobile phone
SIM card (an adaptor may be required), then
make and receive calls through the remote
microphone and car audio speakers.
The carphone’s ‘hands-free’ operation allows
the driver to not only conduct a telephone
conversation, but make, receive and end calls
with both hands safely on the steering wheel.
And from a quality perspective, the factory-fit
installation means that the whole system is of
original equipment quality and comes with a
full Vauxhall warranty.
Please note: The CCRT 700 carphone is compatible
with both the GSM 900 and 1800 frequencies.

Telephone pre-wiring
Helping to keep Zafira drivers in touch at all
times, telephone pre-wiring is available as
a factory-fitted option, at extra cost, on all
Zafira models that feature the CDR 500,
CCR 600 and NCDR 1100 audio units.
Pre-wiring, when fitted in conjunction with
the Vauxhall accessory hands-free phone
installation kit, allows drivers to listen to
incoming calls via the car’s audio speakers
and can even provide an incoming call
message via Zafira’s built-in multi-function
display panel.
Telephone pre-wiring is fitted in the factory
to ensure full compatibility with the car’s
original wiring, eliminating the problems
often associated with aftermarket systems.
It comprises a microphone and modified roof
aerial together with an integrated harness
complete with power and aerial connections
for the phone. It is compatible with both the
GSM 900 and 1800 frequencies.

AutoVision DVD integrated overhead
console system is a fully featured Digital
Versatile Disc (DVD) and audio CD player
with flip-down, colour LCD screen,
automotive grade infra-red remote control
unit and cordless headphones. You can plug
in your video games console, camcorder
or another video player. And the system
will operate both on the move and when
stationary – even for a full 45 minutes with
the ignition off.

The NCDR 1100 stereo radio/CD player/
navigation unit uses the international network
of GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites
linked to a comprehensive CD-ROM
mapping system to determine your precise
location and guide you to your chosen
destination virtually anywhere in mainland
Britain. Despite its technical sophistication,
the system is very simple to operate, using
a range of menu-driven options which are
easily accessed via the steering wheel
mounted audio controls.
Clearly spoken instructions indicate the road
you need to take or the lane you need to be
in, both well in advance and again when the
manoeuvre is due. Directional pictograms,
clearly shown on the special multi-function
display screen, back up the spoken
commands.
The system can also display a list of roads
and streets through which your vehicle must
pass to reach its destination, including the
distance of travel along each section.
The CD-ROM supplied with both units covers
all major link roads and streets in towns and
cities across the whole of mainland Britain.
Discs are updated twice a year and are
available at extra cost by subscription.

Zafira dualfuel LPG data

As the first UK manufacturer to introduce
a range of factory-prepared and fully
warranted LPG (liquefied petroleum gas)/
petrol models, Vauxhall is committed to
developing its dualfuel range. Zafira dualfuel
models are based on the Euro 4 compliant
1.6i 16v and 1.8i 16v engines, fitted with
gas sequential injection. Thanks to the
substantially lower retail price of LPG
relative to petrol or diesel, it’s possible to
travel 50% further for the same fuel cost
when running a Zafira dualfuel model on
LPG, while the lower CO2 emissions can
also lead to lower levels of taxation. With
over 1400 LPG outlets across Britain at the
time of publication, you’re never far away
from a refuelling site. Vauxhall dualfuel
models even qualify for a 100% discount* on
London’s £5 daily congestion charge, upon
payment of a £10 annual registration fee.
LPG operation
Start-up: The vehicle always starts
and runs for a short period on petrol,
irrespective of which fuel is currently
selected.
Typical range in gas mode: Up to 330
miles. The actual range will depend upon
the model, vehicle load and type of driving.
Service intervals: Zafira dualfuel models
have the same service schedules as the
regular petrol models. In addition, at every
third service (60,000 miles or three years)
the gas pressures are checked (and
adjusted if necessary), the LPG fuel filter is
changed and the regulator lock-off valve has
its magnet cleaned and filter changed.
Finally, every six years, the LPG fuel tank is
inspected.
Performance
Compared to a standard petrol vehicle, a
marginal (3%) deterioration in acceleration
is to be expected owing to the nominal
decrease in power, combined with the
increase in kerbweight.
LPG tank and refuelling
Tank location: The tank is located where
the spare wheel would normally be
mounted on Zafira models. The LPG filler is
located on the rear off-side of the vehicle,
next to the regular fuel filler flap.
Tank capacity: 50 litres (11 gallons).
Refuelling time: This is generally the
same as petrol, depending on type of
pump available.
Spare wheel: In order that the luggage
capacity is not affected, Zafira Dualfuel
models are not fitted with a spare wheel.
Instead an emergency tyre inflation kit is
provided to effect a temporary ‘get you
home’ repair.
Conversion weights
Kerbweight is increased by 79kg over
standard vehicles, with a corresponding
reduction in total carrying capacity.

weight. The maximum roof rack loading should not exceed 75kg. The maximum towing
weights are based on the ability of the car, with two occupants of 70kg each, to restart on a
12% gradient, which is approximately 1 in 8.3, at sea level. At altitudes above 1500 metres,
the engine output may drop with a corresponding reduction in towing capability. Any extra
weight, such as luggage or additional passengers, should be deducted from the maximum
towing weight. With a trailer fully loaded, maximum noseweight should not exceed 75kg.
