1. Qualifications
An applicant and his/her parents must have foreign citizenship including North Korea and
come under each of the following:
1) Graduated or is going to graduate from a bachelor’s or master’s program in Korea or a
foreign
country
2) Authorized as having an educational background equal to or above that designated by
the
University regulations
* Language Ability Qualifications
- For 2011 new students, according to "Korea Ministry Education Science and
Technology", the entrance qualification will be tightened up (more than S-TOPIK 4th
grade or TOEFL PBT 550, CBT 210, IBT 80, TOEIC 550, TEPS 550). However, Art &
Sports college applicants can participate our university's Korean language test and
they need to pass it)

3. Required Documents
1) Graduate admission application, study plan, self-introduction, letter of recommendation,
(forms downloadable at the http://global.chosun.ac.kr/admission ), 3 face-photos,
copy of passport, copy of alien card(for those who are in Korea)
2) An original copy of university degree/diploma and transcript
 Applicant for Doctoral program needs to attach Bachelor and Master’s degree
certificate
and transcripts
3) A certificate of financial responsibility over US$10,000 (to be deposited until the first day
of
Class) or over \3,000,000 for those who are with alien card issued by Korean government
4) A nonrefundable application fee of \100,000
(Bank : Gwangju Bank 004-107-456285/ Beneficiary : Chosun University)
5) An original copy of the applicant’s TOEFL or TOPIK score (if any)
6) Only for Chinese applicants: copy of citizen card for whole family, supporter’s certificates
of enrollment at workplace/ income/ tax payment, original copy of household register (If
you have two registers, you have to get the authorization from Chinese government
body.), higher education qualification certificate from the web site (http://www.chsi.com).
* In some cases, applicants are required to submit additional documents for visa issuance.

4. Admission Process

5. Scholarships and Registration Fee


1) Special 33%-of-tuition-fee scholarship is awarded to excellent 15 students among
applicants.
2) Another 50%-of-tuition-fee scholarship is awarded to students who are selected as
research assistants by a professor.
3) All admitted students should pay the admission fee of KRW696,000, but it will be waived
for Chosun alumni of the year of 2010.
4) Student who achieves a GPA of less than 2.0 will be ineligible for a scholarship the next
semester.

6. Housing
1) Every admitted student may live in university housing (dormitory).
2) The dormitory fee is \520,000 per semester.

1) Preferential treatment is given in admission consideration to those who have TOEFL/IELTS
or TOPIK/ KLPT score.
