The Clinton Democratic Club held its monthly meeting on February 16th. It hosted a Valentine's Day bash where the Clinton Club Kids performed love songs. The first speaker was Ignazio Terranova from the NYC Sanitation Department who discussed the department's work and recent laws. The second speaker was Dr. Giovanni Ciuffo, a cardiac surgeon, who urged members to be proactive about their heart health. The meeting also included the acceptance of new officers and an announcement that Queens Borough President Helen Marshall will speak at the next meeting on March 16th.

He Installation of took an interactive approach to his speech, feeding off of members’ questions and Officers concerns. Mr. Terranova said despite the setbacks from the budget and non-stop snow storms, the sanitation department is getting back on track. He also re- minded members about laws recently put into effect, including the Bed Bug Law and the Lawn Clipping Law. The second speaker is a proud father of a Clinton Club Singer and re- nowned heart surgeon Dr. Giovanni Ciuffo. He urged members to become pro- active in their health especially when it concerned their hearts. Dr. Ciuffo contin- ued to say the biggest problem among Americans is denial; those at risk surpass the temptation to never see a doctor. Dr. Ciuffo has performed over 2500 surger- ies and currently practices at Mount Sinai Medical Center. The proposed slate of Officers, Board Members and Young Democrat Board Members was presented and unanimously accepted by all in attendance. Congratulations to all!! Clinton Club Kids Perform at State Senator Avella’s Inauguration
The Clinton Club Kids were widely recognized for their performance at State Senator Tony Avella’s Inauguration. State Senator Avella thanked the chil- dren in a letter, as read by President Paul Vallone. The event also made the front page of the Queens Times. Congrats to our Clinton Club Kids!
