Task 1
The first part of the test is Listening. You must listen to the recording and write the answers on
the answer sheet. Task 1 is a telephone call to a hotel. You will hear the conversation twice.
You now have one minute to look at the questions.

Task 2
Task 2 is a conversation between a guest and a receptionist in a hotel. You will hear the
conversation twice. You now have one minute to look at the questions.
The conversation takes place in a hotel.
1. There is no tea in the room.
2. There is a problem with the phone.
3. The hot water in the shower is not working.
4. The room is next to a disco.
5. The TV has no remote control.
6. The room was too hot last night because the air conditioning
was not working.

Read the information about the hotel and then answer the questions

Welcome to the Royal Hotel. Your room is on the 4 floor. The restaurant is on the 1 floor. It
closes at 11pm. You will find the gym on the 2nd floor. It closes at 10pm.
If you need to speak to someone in reception, call 70 on your phone. If you have a problem with
the bathroom, call 18. If there is a problem with the heating or the air conditioning, call 17. If you
need to make a call to someone outside the hotel, please dial 9 first. For room service call 19.
If you hear the fire alarm, please leave the building by the stairs at the end of the corridor.
Do not use the lift if there is a fire.
Guests are not allowed in your room after 10pm. Smoking is forbidden in this hotel. If it is the last
night of your stay in the hotel, please leave the room before 11am.

Task 2 (2 minutes)
In Task 2 the interlocutor asks the candidate to interpret a visual clue, for
example, to give directions based on a map:

Interlocutor: I would like to you to look at the map and tell me how to get
from where you are now to the hotel. Please speak clearly so I can hear you.
[If the answer is too short, the interlocutor can ask a second question asking for
directions to a different place.]
