The mechanical behaviour of a semi-heavy truck chassis has been studied using finite element based Ansys Code. Results show that the amount of stresses in chassis and connection plates are decreased significantly with increasing the thickness of connection plates. Also, the use of combined welded-riveted joints reduces the stress level of the chassis.
