I work full time , 48hrs per week as a staff nurse in 10 bedded ICCU where I am responsible for
care of patient in ICCU .This Unit has a Head Nurse, Senior Shift In charge & other staff
nurses.Total Staff strength of 20 nurses. Everyone has to do one week night shift per month .ICCU
has all modern facilities and equipments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Providing care to the patients with all cardiac medical emergencies in ICU.
• Performing basic nursing procedures like assessment of the patients, preparing for surgery,
coronary angiogram, PTCA, TPI, PPI, PTMC, EP study, RFA, Device closure.
• Well versed with equipments like Mechanical Ventilators [Seimens 900 and 300, Invasive & non-
invasive monitoring systems, 12 Lead ECG, Defibrillators, Pacemakers, Syringe pumps &
Infusion pumps.
• Emergency management & Resusitation
• Computerization of patients data.
• Assessing physical and psychosocial needs of the patient.
• Monitoring fluid and electrolyte balance.
• Administration of blood and blood products.
• ABG analysis.
• Arterial BP, CVP, PAP, handling and monitoring.
• Psychological support of patient and family.
