This publication supersedes S-76A Model Customer Service
Notice and Alert/Customer Service Bulletin Indexes,

GENERAL INFORMATION
There are three types of S-76 service publications: the Alert Service Bulletin (ASB), the Customer Service Notice
(CSN), and the Special Service Instructions (SSI). The definition and content of each are provided as follows:
ALERT SERVICE BULLETIN (ASB). Commencing March 1982, the only type of Service Bulletin issued is the Alert Service
Bulletin (ASB). Previously issued Customer Service Bulletins (CSBs) in effect are still valid. Alert Service Bulle-
tins (ASBs) shall be issued on matters requiring the immediate attention of the operator and shall be limited gen-
erally to items affecting safety. Compliance with Alert Service Bulletins is considered essential. ASBs provide in-
structions for modifications, inspections, or other actions and establish required compliance times. One time
maintenance and inspection requirements will be carried in the text of the ASB. Revisions to repetitive mainte-
nance and inspection requirements, when safety related, will be issued concurrently with the ASB as temporary re-
visions to the Airworthiness Limitations and Inspection Requirements.
Matters of extreme urgency will be transmitted by facsimile (FAX). A FAX ASB will be followed with the issuance of
a printed 9hard copy9 to confirm the FAX message. The first page of Alert Service Bulletins hard copy will be
printed on red bordered paper to bring it to the immediate attention of the operator. Copies of Alert Service Bul-
letins should be routed to Chief of Operations, Chief of Maintenance, and Chief Pilot.
The primary numbering system used for Alert Service Bulletins and previously issued Customer Service Bulletins in-
corporates the ATA 100 designator and a chronological sequence number.

(Model - System - Consecutive No.) Sequence No. 11 (Chronologically, the eleventh CSB issued)
SEQUENCE NUMBERS. ASBs, previously issued CSBs and CSNs, have been assigned sequential numbers based on their
chronological release. Until ASBs and CSNs are issued with sequence numbers, it is suggested that operators write
these numbers on previously issued ASBs, CSBs, or CSN’s (these publications will not be reissued to add the se-
quence numbers) The sequence numbers are provided in this index.
EFFECTIVITY. Alert Service Bulletins, previously issued Customer Service Bulletins, and Customer Service Notices
normally specify the Sikorsky Serial No. of the helicopter, or part number of the unit, to which the directive is
applicable.
CUSTOMER SERVICE NOTICE (CSN). Customer Service Notices (CSNs) will be prepared and issued to furnish the operator
with information regarding product improvement modifications and parts changes.

SPECIAL SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS (SSI). Special Service Instructions (SSIs) are instructions data for installation of
Optional Modification Kits or parts such as an external cargo hook. Distribution of the SSI will be limited to
those individual operators that have purchased the optional equipment.
