CLASSIFICATION

Cabinet Shops and Their Machinery

Cabinet shops can be categorized by both the shop that is used and the
type(s) of machinery that they might have in them. There are a few different types of
cabinet shops and they are; the home hobbyist’s shop, mom and pop shops, residential
shops, and commercial shops. The home hobbyist normal works out their home or
possibly their garage, and they might not have very much space to work with. The home
hobbyist normally doesn’t do a lot of production items, but their main focus is to do
things around their homes or small furniture items. The tools that they are able to use
within their limited space are mainly just hand operated hand tools. Those tools might
include palm sanders, jig saws, handheld circular saws, and anything else that they
might be able to fit into a tight space. The second type is the Mom and Pop shops which
usually run out of something a bit bigger than a garage, like a barn or it is possible they
have a small shop away from their house to work in.

There are still a lot of handheld power tools like the ones listed for the home
hobbyist, but there is now the need to have more tools in the shop. In this kind of shop
along with their handheld tools you might find machines like; wide belt sanders, sliding
table saws, and planners. This way they are able to produce more than the home
hobbyist could. The third type is the residential shops, and they typically have a larger
warehouse or another kind of building for them to do their work out of. Not only does
this require way more tools and heavy machinery, but it could possibly mean that they
will need to get extra people to work for them to help with the jobs. In commercial shops
you are still likely to find the same machines that were in the Mom and Pop shops like;
planners, sliding table saws, and wide belt sanders. You also might see other added
machinery like; boring machines, hinge boring machines, and edgebanders that will
help in the speedy but quality work that is produced from this kind of shop. The last type
of shop that you can find is commercial shops.

These shops tend to be big factories and tend to whip out a lot of product in
a minimal amount of time. The reason that a big factory is needed is to house the heavy
machinery, to have room to assemble products, the room to store materials, and the
room to be able to load semi-trucks up with the goods. These shops will also have
pretty much the same machines to start out with that the last two shops had, but they
will need to add a lot more to that to become as good as possible. State of the art
equipment is employed, such as CNC(Computer Numerically Controlled) machining
centers, laser engraving machines, computerized edgebanders, spraying areas and
booths, and curing machines. Almost everything that can be done is computer
controlled to pump out monolithic amounts of cabinet components ready to be
assembled, finish sprayed, and sent out throughout the world.
DEFINITION

Procrastinator
I am a procrastinator; in fact I am the king of procrastination. A procrastinator
is someone who postpones work out of laziness or habitual carelessness, and I have
multiple examples of how I do this on a daily basis. My first example focuses on test
taking and the need to study before said test. I am horrible at studying and will usually
wait till the night before, or even the day of, to start studying for a test.

Sometimes this works to my benefit, and sometimes it does not, but overall if
I would just study more and not procrastinate so much, I would do much better on the
majority of my tests. Another example is writing paragraphs for my COM 105 class that I
have this quarter. I think I am a bit too arrogant in my ability to write well as I will usually
procrastinate on writing a paragraph that is due till the morning of the due date. So far
procrastinating for the class has not hurt me, but I really need to cut that out and get to
work if I am ever going to finish my research paper and do well on it. Thirdly, I turn
procrastination into an art form when it comes to chores and other duties around my
home. Sometimes I will let dishes stack up in the sink for weeks before finally doing
them, or not dusting and doing other cleaning jobs around my apartment for months at a
time. So, in conclusion,

I hope you can see why I am the king of procrastination as I wait till the last
minute to study for tests, do not write written assignments due till the morning of, and
shirk my chores at home to the point where I can not tolerate the mess any more and
finally do some cleaning.

Argumentation

An Anti-abortion Argument
Abortion in America is a controversial issue in which both sides have valid
arguments at face value. The pro-choice side has many arguments to support it belief in
keeping abortion legal. Many of these are faulty, and argue point's irrelevant to the
issue, as I will attempt to illustrate, thereby eliminating the main pro-choice arguments.

The pro-life position has somewhat different ideas. The most popular of
these is: The unborn entity is fully human from the moment of conception. Abortion
results in the intentional death of the unborn entity. Therefore, abortion can be defined
the intentional killing of a human being. This killing is in most cases unjustified, since the
unborn human being has a full right to life. If, however, there is a high probability that a
woman's pregnancy will result in her death (such as tubal pregnancy, for example), then
abortion is justified. For it is a greater good that one human should live (the mother)
rather than two die (the mother and her child). Or, in such cases the intent is not to kill
the unborn but to save the life of the mother. With the exception of such cases, abortion
is an act in which an innocent human being is intentionally killed; therefore, abortion
should be made illegal, as are all other such acts of killing.

One argument made by people in favor of abortion is an appeal to pity.

When one argues by appealing to pity, one is arguing that certain actions should be
permitted or tolerated out of pity for those performing them when in fact the basis for
showing them pity is not a legitimate basis for the action. For example, a woman who
argues that she should not receive a parking ticket because her child was crying and
she took her child to a candy store to cheer her up is appealing to pity. The following
abortion rights arguments are examples. Anyone who goes to pro-choice
demonstrations in the United States will see on pro-choice buttons a drawing of a coat
hanger.
CAUSE AND
EFFECTS

EFFECTS OF WATCHING TOO MUCH TV

Discoveries and invention of devices are always welcome till we, humans,
find a way to abuse its benefits and be adversely affected by it. This was the case when
Wilhelm Roentgen discovered x-ray and within five years, the British Army was using a
mobile x-ray unit to locate bullets and shrapnel in wounded soldiers in the Sudan. TV
was also invented with positive thoughts in mind – there would be no national borders,
education and communication would be worldwide, etc. However, we are now trying to
overcome its physiological and psychological adverse effects on human beings.
One of the physiological effects of watching TV in excessive amounts is
eye-strain. It is true that there are specifications for watching TV; TV should be 5 m.
away from the eye, the room should be adequately lit, TV should be placed at the same
height with our eyes, etc. However, these do not prevent our eyes from getting tired if
we keep watching TV for a long time. Another effect is obesity, which is widely observed
in people who like watching TV and eating snacks everyday (there is even a term “TV
snacks” to refer to fast food that is suitable for eating in front of the TV). TV is such a
powerful machine that people cannot get away from it – it is addictive.

Apart from the physiological effects, TV also causes psychological effects.

One is a result of being exposed to violence. After seeing so many violent scenes on
TV, people start considering violent actions normal and they lose their sensitivity to their
environment. Partly connected to this effect, the interpersonal communication among
people decreases. Being insensitive to the suffering of other people causes people to
become alienated. Also, after coming home from work people seek to relax in front of
the TV, and generally people prefer watching TV to talking to each other. This issue is
very important since lack of interpersonal relationships mostly end with divorces.

Shortly, inventions are meant to be beneficial for human beings, if we know how to
benefit from them. TV is one of such inventions that need to be used for the right
purpose only – being educated and entertained for a reasonable (according to age)
period of time. We may, then, be safe from or at least reduce the adverse physiological
and psychological effects of watching too much TV.
DESCRIPTION

A Friendly Clown

On one corner of my dresser sits a smiling toy clown on a tiny unicycle--a

gift I received last Christmas from a close friend. The clown's short yellow hair, made of
yarn, covers its ears but is parted above the eyes. The blue eyes are outlined in black
with thin, dark lashes flowing from the brows. It has cherry-red cheeks, nose, and lips,
and its broad grin disappears into the wide, white ruffle around its neck.
The clown wears a fluffy, two-tone nylon costume. The left side of the outfit
is light blue, and the right side is red. The two colors merge in a dark line that runs down
the center of the small outfit. Surrounding its ankles and disguising its long black shoes
are big pink bows.

The white spokes on the wheels of the unicycle gather in the center and
expand to the black tire so that the wheel somewhat resembles the inner half of a
grapefruit. The clown and unicycle together stand about a foot high. As a cherished gift
from my good friend Tran, this colorful figure greets me with a smile every time I enter
my room.

College Students

Many college students face a number of pressures. For instance, many

students have to manage a job while at the same time balancing their school work. This
can be very stressful for a college student. Students also face many financial pressures.
For example, numerous students have to pay for their college on their own.
This gives them no other alternative bbut to take out student loans. Which could leave
them in debt for many years. Another example of financial pressures for students is
having to support a family while attending college. Supporting a family while attending
college can be extremely difficult. Finally, many college students go to college students
go to college in different cities and states and have to make new friends and adjust to a
different atmosphere.

Being a college student can be very rewarding but, there may also be a lot of
pressures that need to be dealt with.
Process

How To Be A Good Friend

To be a good friend, an individual has to spend time working on her

friendships, or they will eventually fade. When two people first meet, they both need to
be sure they are acting in good manor, so they don’t scare the other away.
After they meet and start talking a few times, they will start getting to
know each other, calling each other, and spending more time with each other. That is
how a friendship begins. After they call each other “friends”, the friendship has to be
made through the effort of more than just one person, so each has to do her own part.

Friendships shouldn’t take a lot of money but they do take a lot of time
and care. Friends should always listen to what the other has to say, and then should
give advice only when asked for it. No matter how much friends are alike, everyone has
differences, so a friend should be able to accept their differences. After being a friend to
a person for a long period of time, one might get tired of hearing repeated problems
everyday, but a good friend will always be there for her friend no matter what.
Analogy
The "great Argentine footballer, Diego Maradona, is not usually associated
with the theory of monetary policy," Mervyn King explained to an audience in the City of
London two years ago. But the player's performance for Argentina against England in
the 1986 World Cup perfectly summarized modern central banking, the Bank of
England's sport-loving governor added.

Maradona's infamous "hand of God" goal, which should have been disallowed,
reflected old-fashioned central banking, Mr King said. It was full of mystique and "he
was lucky to get away with it." But the second goal, where Maradona beat five players
before scoring, even though he ran in a straight line, was an example of modern
practice.

" How can you beat five players by running in a straight line? The answer is
that the English defenders reacted to what they expected Maradona to
do. . . . Monetary policy works in a similar way. Market interest rates react to what
the central bank is expected to do."

Acoustic and Electric Guitars

As broad as their sounds are, there are several very distinct similarities
and differences between electric and acoustic guitars. For instance, both utilize the use
of a body for the neck to attach to and a neck with frets for finger placement. The strings
attach to the lower end of the body and go all the way to the head, or the top of the
neck. They both use strings that vary in gauge, or size, which are vital to produce sound
when they are picked, hammered on, or strummed as a group. Similarly, each is tuned
in the same manner to produce the proper tone desired.

An acoustic guitar needs no amplifier to make its sound loud enough to be

heard. An acoustic guitar uses the body of the guitar as its amplifier. Because the body
is very thick and hollow it is able to project its own natural sound loudly. This makes it
very portable and capable of being played virtually anywhere. An acoustic guitar doesn’t
need any foot pedals, volume and tone knobs, or any other hardware like that to
produce the sound it makes.

An electric guitar is very hard to hear without an amplifier. An electric guitar

requires the use of an amplifier to transport the sound though pickups that are secured
in the body. These sounds are transferred through a cable connected to the guitar. The
cable then goes to the amplifier which produces the sounds out of the speakers.
Volume and tone knobs on the electric guitar can make it louder or change the sound of
the strings being played. Additionally, foot pedals can be added to produce even more
different sounds so that the musical capabilities of the electric guitar are almost
limitless. There’s not a lot of music that I listen to that doesn’t have some sort of electric
or acoustic guitar in the mix, either as the main instrument or as small as a fill in for a
certain sound. The genre of the music frequently dictates which type of guitar should be
used.
Exemplification

Why College is Important.

Going to college is very important! It mainly helps people get a good job,
and jobs are what get people through life. No one can go without a job and live happily.
Finances are too much to handle without a job. Even some people that have become
retirement age refuse to retire because they won’t be able to make it without having a
steady income from a job. All of this leads to going to college. Without
a college education, people probably won’t make good enough to live happy either!
They will make money however, but possibly not enough!

There are positives and negatives about going to college, but more so gains
than losses. College is expensive, but once graduated and people have a good or a
great job with a degree, they realize all their hard work and expense paid off. With
a college degree, people make way more than just a high school diploma, or GED. Most
of the time around 100000 more a year! College gets students ready for the real world,
teaching responsibility and how the world works.
