The ministry of acolyte is a

The Senior Warden’s Message

Welcome  to  March!!      We  will  have  a  very  busy  month  at  St.  Johns  as  we  enter  Lent.    Please  see  your  bulle;ns  on  Sunday  or  our  website,
www.stjohnssealy.com  ,  for  the  complete  calendar  of  Lenten  events.

Each  Wednesday  night  of  Lent  we  are  scheduling  an  EVENSONG  service.    Each  service  will  feature  a  message  given  by  a  different  member  of
the  Sealy  Ministerial  Alliance.    Eric  is  speaking  to  the  pastors  and  priests  of  the  Methodist,  Presbyterian,  American  Methodist  Episcopal,
Catholic,  and  Good  Shepherd  Churches.    Needless  to  say,  the  messages  should  be  varied,  entertaining,  and  educa;onal!    Please  take  ;me  out
of  the  middle  of  your  week  to  come  and  take  part  in  this  unique  worship  opportunity.    Each  service  will  be  preceded  by  a  simple  supper  of
soup  and  bread  beginning  at  6:15.

The  Vestry  completed  its  February  mee;ng  and  has  established  our  “Big  3  for  2011.”    We  will  share  the  details  of  the  “Big  3”  over  the  next  few
weeks,  but  here  is  brief  descrip;on:

1. Pastoral  Care  –  Focus  is  to  provide  a  consistent,  caring,  and  meaningful  ministry  to  our  members  who  are  in  need  or  want  of  special
care.

2. Outreach  Ministries  –  We  began  many  of  the  ministries  in  2010  and  will  con;nue  to  increase  and  expand  our  work.

3. Membership  Development  –  Goal  is  to  bring  new  members  into  our  family  and  welcome  back  exis;ng  members  who  may  be  looking
to  rejoin  our  loving  community.

The  Vestry  believes  that  we  are  at  a  very  important  “crossroads”  in  the  life  of  St.  Johns  -‐  Sealy.    We  look  forward  to  providing  direc;on  to  the
church  and  know  that  if  we  do  the  work  Christ  called  us  to  do,  God  will  answer  our  prayers!!

God  bless,
Brian  Owen
