READING: Ps 73:23-28
23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
27 For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.
28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all
thy works.
B. Regardless of my standing in the physical world, God still cares for me.
1. Ps 40:16-17 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say
continually, The LORD be magnified. But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou
art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
2. 2 Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
3. Rom 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to
this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2. Ps 35:23-28
23 Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.
24 Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.
25 Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
26 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with
shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.
27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the
LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
B. I am compelled to declare how wonderful are God’s love and mercy.
1. Ps 40:5-11
5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-
ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than
can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast
thou not required.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou
knowest.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have
not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually
preserve me.
2. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
3. Ps 86:12-13 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for
evermore. For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.
3. Ps 104:33-34 I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have
my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
2. Ps 118:28-29 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee. O give
thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
3. Phil 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
4. Heb 13:5-6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye
have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord
is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
2. Rev 3:11-13 (re: the church in Philadelphia) Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast,
that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he
shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my
God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon
him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
