This is a Japanese Cartoon character that my two nieces love. My brother asked me to make
him for them, so I decided to go ahead and post the pattern on here for anyone who is a fan of
the show. Enjoy your Anpanman!
Yarns:
• Red

• Light Peach (skin color)
• Maroon

Things you will need to know:
• Size G hook
• Wide eyed needle
• Scissors
• Stitch marker
• Glue gun (optional)

Round 18: sc in next 7 sts, dec over next 2 sts, around (48)
Round 20: sc in next 6 sts, dec over next 2 sts, around (42)
Round 22: sc in next 5 sts, dec over next 2 sts, around (36)
Round 23: sc in next 4 sts, dec over next 2 sts, around (30)
Round 24: sc in next 3 sts, dec over next 2 sts, around (24)

Round 7: (in back loops only) sc in next 4 sts, dec over next 2 sts, around (30)
Body Edging:

If you recall, I had you work through the back loops only, which leaves you with the front
loops to work into.To make the edging around Anpanman's Body insert your hook into any of
those front loops left after working 7 of your body.
(Here's where it gets different, we are going to make that little slit in Anpaman's shirt)

Row 17: 2 sc in first st, sc in next 22 sts, 2 sc in last st, ch 1, turn (26)
I used black felt for his eyes, eye brows, mouth and the happy face on his chest. To attach the
cape, I just tied it around his neck area. The belt, I wrapped around his waist, then stitched it
closed.
