 INSTRUCTION TO THE CANDIDATE FOR FILLING UP OF THE FORM

1. The candidate should be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of the area under the territorial
jurisdiction of Sambalpur University.
2. Be a graduate with knowledge in computer.
3. Within the age limit of 21-32 years as on the date of issue of the notification.
4. Attested copies of the following documents are required to be submitted along-with the application form:
a) HSC or certificate of equivalent examination.
b) Certificate of graduate degree
c) Certificate of computer knowledge/skill.
d) Caste certificate/certificate of disability/sports/ex-service man in the case of such reserved categories.
e) No objection certificate from the Employer in case of candidate employed earlier
f) Two passport size photograph duly attested

SUBJECTS FOR EXAMINATION – EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

The examination shall consist of the following subjects carrying marks as shown against each:-
1. English 100 marks
2. Arithmetic 100 marks
3. General Knowledge 100marks
4. Intelligence Test 100marks
5. Computer practical skill Test 100marks
All the subjects shall be examined by means of question papers. The duration of conducting written examination taken
together from Sl. No. 1 to 4 shall be of three hours and duration of Sl. No. 5 shall be of 90 minutes. The candidates shall
answer the question in English in writing unless otherwise specified.
STANDARD AND SYLLABUS FOR COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION
1. English
a. An essay to be written in English on one of the subjects mentioned in the question paper
(Approximately 400 words) – 20 marks
b. A letter or draft to be written in English on one of the subjects mentioned in the question paper - 20 marks
c. One Oriya, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu or Telugu passage to be translated in to English – 20 marks
d. One English passage to be translated in to Oriya, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu or Telugu- 20 marks
e. Summary of précis of one English passage mentioned in the question paper – 20 marks
NOTE: The standard shall be equal to that of the degree examination.
2. General Knowledge
Knowledge of current events and such other matters of every day observation and experience as may be expected of an
educated person.
3. Arithmetic
Vulgar fraction and decimals, HCF & LCM simple and compound practice, simple and compound interest, percentage, profit
and loss, mixture, partnership, averages, rates and taxes, insurance, square and cubic measures, problems of time and work
and time &distance.
NOTE: The question shall be of High School certificate standard. Problems more easily solvable in algebraic methods need
not be solved arithmetically.
4. Intelligence test:
The object of the paper would be to assess the intelligence, alertness, general outlook and potential qualities necessary for
the appointment.
5. Computer Practical Skill Test:
Each candidate shall have to be examined Practical/skill test with the domains:
i) MS Ward
ii) Excel
iii) Power Point
iv) Internet
6. Successful candidates shall have to appear for Vive-voce
