Luncheon to Honor St. Patrick will take place
on Thursday, March 17. The luncheon will be
held in the Parish Life Center and begin at
11 am. Be sure to plan on attending this en-

CCW - February 2011 - What’s Happening...
Although winter is still here with its dreary
weather, the month is not without opportunities to
get out and be take part in some interesting events.
Take a few moments to make a note of the follow-
ing get-togethers. Bundle up, come on out and join
us! We will be sure to give you a warm welcome
– and a cup of coffee…
February 21 – CCW Meeting – 7:00 pm
in the Parish Life Center - The program for the
evening will be given by parishioner Kim White
and is entitled “Pilgrimages of Our Lives.”
Kim will address the various types of pilgrimages
that we, as women, make along our own spiritual
journeys. She will also share many key insights as
to decades of the Rosary and glimpses into the
Gospels that will enrich our prayer lives. You will
find it to be a wonderful preparation for your spiri-
tual journey through the Lenten season.
You can bring back that Baby Bottles any-
time. We will see that it gets to Woman’s Choice
Services. We appreciate your help and support.

Late Nite Catechism:
“Til Death Do Us Part”
Thank you to all the pa-
rishioners that purchased
raffle tickets, attended the
show and those that volunteered to help! This
event was successful due to all of your hard work
and participation. The evening was fun and enter-
taining with nearly 200 people hundred in atten-
dance and we had a profit of $2,600! Thank you
to all!
The following were Basket winners: “Loads of
Fun” Orie Montgomery, “Honey Moon Special”
Noreen King, and “Hyatt Lombard Overnight”
Eugene Caselli.
The $100 winners of the parish raffle were Louise
Kerbs, Florentina Sugudom, and Michael Mineo.
The $250 cash prize winners were Ken Garcia and
Irene Wardach. The Grand Prize $500 winner was
Mr. and Mrs Miller. Thank you to everyone that
purchased a raffle ticket.

PARISH: A PEOPLE FOR LIFE - A PRAYER OPPORTUNITY

We are excited that the six abortion clinics that belong to Dr. Vinod Goyal are going to join to-
gether to sponsor the 40 Days for Life this spring from March 9 through April 17. There have been
seven 40 Days campaigns (a very biblical number) since 2007 and each time they have in-
creased exponentially. In the United States there are 243 cities that have signed up to partici-
pate, and 40 days of prayer and fasting will also take place simultaneously in Canada, England,
Ireland, Australia, Belize, Spain, Georgia and Armenia. Why has this idea spread like wildfire? It’s
because this peaceful, prayerful approach has brought amazing results.
More than 400,000 people have participated in 337 cities. Nine abortion facilities have closed
their doors, 43 abortion workers have quit their jobs and at least 3,599 lives of babies have been
spared, as well as years of regret and remorse for their mothers. There may be many more babies
that are alive today that we don’t even know about because of the prayers of citizens who
cared enough to witness in public.

In Glen Ellyn we will pray from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.,for seven days from March 30th through
April 5th. There will be four time slots a day :

[7;00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.]; [10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.]; [1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.] and [4:00 p.m. to 7:00
p.m.] We welcome whatever commitment you can make.

Pilgrimage to Rome Liturgy of the Word

The Most Reverend Joseph M.
Siegel, Auxiliary Bishop of Joliet,
invites you to join him on a pilgrimage to Rome,
the city of Saints Peter and Paul, on the occasion
of the conferral of the Pallium by Pope Benedict
XVI on Archbishop J. Peter Sartain on the Feast
of Saints Peter & Paul. The 7-day pilgrimage is
from June 27 to July 3, 2011, with visits to Rome,

month at the 10:00 a.m. Mass children ages
4 through 8 are invited to hear the Word of
God explained especially for them. Father
will announce for the children to come for-
ward. He will then bless them and they
leave with catechists who will explain the
Word in a language for simpler understand-
ing. Come and join us on Feb. 26 at the
10:00 a.m. Mass.

Don’t just toss SUPPORT FOR ANNULMENT

your old
medications!
There is a better way to get rid of
your expired or unfinished medications. Start by
gathering them up for the next Medical Missions
Collection to be held the weekend of March 5
and 6. Bring your outdated medications and un-
finished prescriptions with you when you come
to Mass that weekend.
There will be specially marked boxes in the Nar-
thex to collect them. Because of the nature of
this collection, we ask that you do not bring them
at any other weekend.
Unfinished meds can be used in third world
countries and those that are expired will be dis-
posed of properly. Leave medications in their
original containers with the labels intact. Please
cross out your name for privacy. NO NEEDLES
PLEASE.
PETITIONERS:
A Day of Support for Annulment Petitioners is be-
ing offered for those who have petitioned the Di-
ocesan Marriage Tribunal to begin the annulment
process, have submitted basic data for introduc-
tion of their case, but have not yet completed the
Marriage Summary Questionnaire. Catholics and
non-Catholics are welcome to attend.
The day will include time for prayer, questions and
information regarding annulments and the ques-
tionnaire. Private consultation will be available.

St. Joseph Table, March 20: Year of the Eucharist

Christ the King St. Joseph Table will be held in the school gymnasium on Sunday, March 20, at 1 p.m. This is a
chance for all of our parishioners, friends and benefactors to share a meatless meal, participate in raffles and
raise funds for a worthy cause. This year the proceeds will be donated to the good works of Catholic Charities.

Please plan to join us on March 20. If you would like to help, please fill out the form below and return it to

holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Liturgy and a Master

Union. A Cardinal Bernardin Scholar, Mary is an author,
and a highly sought after presenter of workshops, retreats,
and parish missions. Married, and the mother of
two young adults, Dr. Amore is the Executive Director of Mayslake Ministries
in Lombard.

New Tabernacle?

Not exactly. Last week, the mecha-
nism which opens the doors to our
tabernacle broke. Thank you to
Wheaton Religious for letting us use
this tabernacle while ours is being
repaired. This is another example of unexpected repair
bills that are covered through donations to the Gold
Envelopes. Thank you to all who faithfully use their en-
velopes.
