1 Launch phpMyAdmin Installer
phpMyAdmin is an open source application designed for advanced management
of MySQL 4.1 and 5.0 databases using a web browser interface. phpMyAdmin
Installer is an automated application that enables you to install phpMyAdmin in
four steps.

To initiate phpMyAdmin Installer do the following:


1. Log into your BT Business Your Account area in the normal way
1. Go to your Website Centre> Website Management > phpMyAdmin
2. Click “Begin.”

A menu screen will load with 3 options:


1. Install phpMyAdmin
2. Change Password
3. Go to phpMyAdmin.

Your first session with phpMyAdmin Installer will have “Change Password” and
“Go to phpMyAdmin” grayed out until you have successfully installed
phpMyAdmin.

2 Install phpMyAdmin
To begin installation of phpMyAdmin onto your hosted site click on “Install
phpMyAdmin” icon located at the top right or the middle link “Install
phpMyAdmin.”

Step 1 of 4: Create Directory


1. Select a directory you wish to install phpMyAdmin.
• To create a directory enter a directory name in the blank field and
click “Create Directory.”
2. Click >> to proceed to the next step.

Step 2 of 4: Database Information

phpMyAdmin Installer will search for an existing database on your hosted site.
The password for the existing database can be reset in Database Manager
application. You will need your Database Password to uninstall phpMyAdmin.

If no database is found on your hosted site you will be required to create a


Database Username, Database Name and Database password.

Ensure that Database Username, Database Name, and Database Password


information are documented in a secure location.

Click << to return to the previous step.


Click >> to proceed to the next step.

Step 3 of 4: Administration Interface

The directory that you installed phpMyAdmin onto will require a username and
password

1. Enter a Username for phpMyAdmin.


2. Enter a Password for phpMyAdmin.
3. Confirm the Password for phpMyAdmin.
4. Click << to return to the previous step.
5. Click >> to proceed to the next step.

Ensure that phpMyAdmin Username and phpMyAdmin Password information are


documented in a secure location.

Step 4 of 4: Installation Complete

Once installation is complete a summary of details will be displayed. Be sure to


record all information and keep in a secure location. The “Install phpMyAdmin”
will now be switched with “Uninstall phpMyAdmin.”

Access to “Change Password” and “Go to phpMyAdmin” should now be available


once installation of phpMyAdmin is complete

3 Change Password
To change the password to phpMyAdmin click “Change Password Icon” on the
top right or the middle link on the menu.

1. Enter the phpMyAdmin Username.


2. Enter the new phpMyAdmin password.
3. Confirm the new phpMyAdmin Password
4. Click >> to proceed.

Please note: the password you are changing is the one you use to log in to
phpMyAdmin, which can be accessed by clicking on the "Go to phpMyAdmin"
button.

Once you have successfully changed the phpMyAdmin password, an update
screen will appear with the changes you have specified.

4 Go to phpMyAdmin
To go to phpMyAdmin login screen in a new browser window click on the “Go To
phpMyAdmin” icon. Once logged in you will be able to begin modifying your
database.

5 Uninstall phpMyAdmin
To uninstall phpMyAdmin page click “Uninstall phpMyAdmin” icon. You will need
to enter your database username and database password to complete the
uninstall.
