Monday, April 11 Senior Prom Ticket Sales


through Tickets are $30.00 per person. Purchase prom tickets during
Friday, April 15 all lunch waves. At this time you will also sign up for picture Cafeteria
time slots.

Thursday, April 14 Senior Graduation Speech Sign-Ups


through Interested in giving an inspiring, memorable speech at your

requirements will be provided within the speech info packet.

Monday, April 18 Senior Class Trip Sign-Ups


through For $30.00 attend your senior class trip to Hershey Park, the

Wednesday, April 27 Final Graduation Speech Schedule Posted


After 11:30 a.m. If you applied to give a speech at graduation the speech
schedule will be posted outside Mrs. Edel’s and Mr. Glover’s Room 209
room. Potential speech candidates are to be prepared at 3:30 Room 507
p.m. and depart when they are finished.

Thursday, April 28 Senior Graduation Speech Tryouts


3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Senior speech applicants will prepare a 2-3 minute speech to
perform in front of a panel. Panel will consist of senior class
advisers, officers, and English department members. Be Room TBD
prepared!

Friday, April 29 Senior Graduation Speech Announcement

Monday, May 2 Senior Class T-Shirt Sale


through Order your senior class T-shirt! Order forms will be placed

Friday, May 6 outside Mrs. Edel’s and Mr. Glover’s room. Completed order

Monday, May 2 Senior Class Party


through Want to have a blast after graduation? Want to enjoy one last

Wednesday, May 4 Senior Class Meeting
8:30 a.m. Mr. Graves will discuss important senior class information.
Information will include caps, gowns, graduation practice, Auditorium
ceremony, and more.

Thursday, May 5 Senior Class Survey


Each senior is asked to complete a class survey. Responses to
this survey will be analyzed for future classes. Please be

to hear your voice.

Saturday, May 14 Senior Prom


5:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. The time has come for glitz and glam! Doors will open at 5:30

Friday, May 20 Senior Class Party Permission Slips Due

Thursday, May 26 Distribution of Caps, Gowns, and Other


8:27 a.m. – 3:06 p.m. Distribution with payment of $21 cash or check payable to

Sunday, May 29 Hanover Area Baccalaureate Service


7:00 p.m. For those seniors wishing to attend the Hanover Area Grace UCC
Baccalaureate Service. For more information please contact 100 Fourth Street

Thursday, June 2 Final School Day and Locker Clean Out


Final regular school day for seniors. Locker clean-out during an

extended homeroom and class wrap-up. All senior obligations

Friday, June 3 Senior Semester Exams: Periods 2 and 3


Immediately following period 2 and period 3 final exams,
school personnel will be stationed at the rear of the cafeteria to
collect textbooks for those classes. Students who do not return Cafeteria
textbooks will incur an obligation that must be satisfied before
receiving their diplomas.

Monday, June 6 Senior Semester Exams: Period 1 and 4


Immediately following period 1 and period 4 final exams,

Tuesday, June 7 Senior Class Trip
8:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. Buses for the Senior Class Trip to Hershey Park will arrive at
the high school at 8:15 a.m. Buses depart promptly at 8:30
a.m. and arrive at Hershey Park at approximately 10:00 a.m.

Seniors are to return to the buses at 7:45 p.m. South Western


will depart Hershey Park promptly at 8:00 p.m. to arrive back Hershey Park
to the school at 9:30 p.m. Hershey, PA

Teachers will report senior failing grades to the guidance office


by 8:00 a.m. Any senior lacking 28 credits and a completed
graduation project will not be permitted to participate in the
commencement ceremony.

Wednesday, June 8 Graduation Practice, Photo, Make-up Exams


9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon All seniors are expected to report on time in appropriate attire.
Bring your cap, gown, and tassel. Please be certain to put your
name in both your cap and gown to avoid confusion and loss.

11:45 a.m. A group graduation photograph to be taken.

1:00 p.m. Deadline for photograph money to be turned in the Main


Office. Gym

12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Those seniors who arrived late or failed to show for scheduled
final exams will be expected to remain in school following
graduation practice to complete their missed exams. Any
seniors who fail to complete their exams prior to graduation will
place in jeopardy their privilege to participate in the graduation
ceremony.

Thursday, June 9 Graduation Practice and Pizza Party


9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Graduation practice will be held from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. or
longer if additional practice is needed. All seniors are expected
to report on time and in appropriate school attire. Bring your
cap and tassel only. Following practice, the senior parents will
provide pizza for all seniors in the high school stadium starting
at 10:30 a.m.

Friday, June 10 Class of 2011 Graduation Day!!!


6:15 p.m. Report to the auditorium by 6:15 p.m. Roll will be taken and
final instructions will be provided.

Following the graduation ceremony, all seniors will meet with

parents, family, friends, and faculty. Following the reception,
you will pick up your diploma, class photograph, and other
materials from your class advisors in the guidance office.

Friday, June 10 Senior Class Party


10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Join your classmates for a final celebration! Continue the
graduation ceremony into the early a.m. Attendees can look EHMIS
forward to cash prizes, activities, entertainment, food, fun and
more!
As graduation quickly approaches please keep these important dates in mind. You are strongly
encouraged to mark them on your calendar. It is our understanding that many of you
participate in special programs and are not always here for morning or afternoon
announcement. For clarification purposes please contact a class officer or adviser at the
information listed below. Lastly, you are encouraged to join the South Western Class of 2011
Facebook group. Remember to listen to morning announcements too!

NOTE: All permission slips, sign-up sheets, and other pertinent information will be posted
outside Mrs. Edel’s room (209) and Mr. Glover’s room (507).
