FlySmiLes Membership. Our dedicated website www.flysmiles.com will guide you with
regard to all necessary details to plan and manage your Account.

FlySmiLes also wishes to welcome you on-board by rewarding you with upto 5000 Miles
for your first flight on SriLankan within six months of enrolment.

The FlySmiLes Programme of SriLankan Airlines is designed to give loyal customers like
you access to a world of exclusive benefits and privileges, so that your travel will be
more rewarding and delightful.

FlySmiLes Membership Categories


FlySmiLes offers three Categories of Membership - Blue, Silver and Gold. Members who
reach Silver status can opt for the Baggage Bonus Programme.

The Baggage Bonus Programme has two Membership Categories - Baggage Plus and
Baggage Premier.

Each Membership Category offers exclusive privileges. So the higher your Membership
status is, the more privileges you would be able to enjoy.

Permanent Membership Cards


In order to obtain the permanent card a Member should fly four sectors on Economy
Class or one sector on Business Class on SriLankan Airlines, within a period of twelve
months from the first flight.

Please sign in the signature box of the Membership Card before you use it.

All About Miles

The FlySmiLes Programme uses different types of Miles for different reasons.

- FlySmiLes Miles for earning Rewards.


- Tier Miles for progressing through the Membership Categories

The Difference between FlySmiLes Miles and Tier Miles

FlySmiLes Miles

FlySmiLes Miles are your Reward currency and are earned every time you fly with
SriLankan and our partners.
FlySmiles Miles will expire after a period of three years.

Tier Miles
Tier miles are used to determine your Membership Category in the programme and are
earned every time you fly with SriLankan.

While your Redemption Miles can be redeemed for Rewards, Tier Miles help you to
progress through the membership tiers to Silver and Gold. Tier Miles are earned,
whenever you fly with SriLankan, at a rate of 1 tier mile per mile flown in Economy
Class, 50% more tier miles per mile flown in Business Class.

Tier miles are accumulated from the date of enrolment for a period of twelve months, at
which time your tier miles account is reset to zero..
Your tier status will be valid for 13 months from the date the Tier change has been
effected.
For example, if you earn FlySmiles Silver status in June 2010, you will remain in this tier
until July 2011. For complete details on the benefits and privileges of Silver and Gold
membership, please see the 'Silver membership privileges' and 'Gold membership
privileges' section in this guide.

Moving Up the Membership Tier

The following chart illustrates the tier miles and sectors required to qualify and maintain
FlySmiles Silver and Gold membership.

* A sector is any part of a flight for which a separate flight coupon has been issued. For
instance, a direct flight from London to Colombo on SriLankan would be one sector,
while a flight from London to Chennai via Colombo would be two sectors.
Keeping a track of Miles

FlySmiLes Members can log on to www.flysmiles.com and view your mileage balance.
All you need is your membership number and password.
Missing Miles and Retro Credits

You can claim all the Miles not credited on Sri Lankan flights or missing transactions
retro actively by, simply sending the airline booking reference and flight details by
e-mail to flysmiles@srilankan.aero within six months of the transaction.

Please retain a copy of the original documents for your reference. Please allow up to six
weeks for miles to be updated to your account.
Blue Membership Privileges

Blue Tier Privileges

Your FlySmiles Blue membership makes travelling more enjoyable with an array of
exclusive privileges and benefits. The higher your membership tier, the greater the
Privileges you will enjoy.

FlySmiLes Upgrades and Free Tickets

You can redeem your FlySmiLes Miles which you have earned for Reward tickets and
Reward upgrades.

Pre-Assigned Seating

To ensure the comfort of your journey, we are pleased to accommodate your request
for a particular seat*, as per the SriLankan Airlines seat selection policy in any class of
travel, subject to availability.

Dedicated Service Centre

Wherever you may be, we are just a phone call away. To facilitate your enquiries from
around the globe, we have established dedicated telephone line for members at our
FlySmiles Service Centre. For general information, account balance enquiries and to
redeem your FlySmiles Miles for Rewards, simply refer to the telephone number listed
at the back of this guide and on the back of your membership card, or check our Web-
site at www.flysmiles.com alternatively, call your local Sri Lankan Airlines office.

Waitlist Priority
Your FlySmiles membership gives you priority on the waitlist of fully booked flights.
Simply quote your membership number when booking and we will make every effort to
accommodate you. Your priority on the waitlist will increase as you progress through
the tiers. Please note that this privilege is not applicable on Reward tickets or flights that
have a 'closed' status.

* For safety reasons, seats alongside the emergency exit can only be assigned at the
airport and preference for bulkhead seats will be given to passengers with infants.
Seating allocations may be subject to change if passengers are allocated special service
seats that are reserved for infants, wheelchair passengers or due to a change in aircraft.

Priority Check-in
When flying with SriLankan, you can check-in at the Business Class counter regardless
of your class of travel. Simply present your FlySmiles Silver card at the check-in counter.

Exclusive Lounge Access


You will be welcome to the Palm Strip lounge *** at the Bandaranaike International
Airport anytime when you are departing on a SriLankan flight

Guaranteed Excess Baggage **


When travelling on Sri Lankan, you can take advantage of an extra baggage allowance of
12kg above that shown on your ticket. This may help you, when are carrying business
documents or extra gifts.

Overdraft Facility

Silver members redeeming miles for tickets and upgrades who shortfall of the required
miles will be permitted an overdraft facility of 3000 miles. Miles earned subsequently by
the member will be set off the overdrawn amount.

Your FlySmiles Gold membership will ensure that your journeys are filled with exclusive
privileges and truly delightful benefits.

Guaranteed Excess Baggage
When travelling with Sri Lankan, you can take advantage of a guaranteed free extra
baggage allowance of 16 kgs**, above that shown on your ticket.

Lounge Access Network -Wide


As a FlySmiles Gold member, flying Sri Lankan in economy class on short and medium
haul flights you and a guest can enjoy access to the Palm Strip Lounge*** in Colombo.
However if your economy class travel is to Europe or Tokyo you will have access to the
Serendib Lounge. When traveling on business class you will get to enjoy the Serendib
Lounge. Across the rest of the network*, this privilege can be enjoyed at all Sri Lankan
affiliated Business Class Lounges – even when travelling on Economy Class.

Guaranteed Seat Reservations


If no seats are available on your Sri Lankan flight and you are holding a Business Class or
designated Economy Class fully flexible ticket, your FlySmiLes Gold membership
guarantees you an Economy Class seat on the flight of your choice. * (conditions apply)
If you have paid for a Business Class ticket, you will also be priority waitlisted for the
desired class. To avail of this benefit, a copy of your ticket must be faxed to the Service
Centre nearest to you before 48hours from your flight departure time.
Other Benefits for all Members

Special Meals**
You can select from a list of special meals designed to meet your dietary, religious or
medical requirements, when you book your flight or at least 24 hours prior to departure
on Sri Lankan. If you need a special meal for medical reasons, you will need to order it
before each flight. Please check on www.srilankan.aero for list of meals on Sri Lankan
flights.

Stop-Over Service
If you are flying with Sri Lankan via Colombo and your ticket permits a stop-over, you
may purchase a SriLankan Holiday package from your local SriLankan Airlines
reservation/ticketing office.

* When holding an economy ticket, if the desired booking class is full and seats are
vailable in a higher class you will be required to pay the fare difference and purchase the
higher class seat.

Purchasing FlySmiles Redemption Miles


If you haven't earned quite enough Miles for the Reward you want, you can purchase
them through our FlySmiles Service Centre. It costs just US 2.5 cents per Mile with a
minimum purchase of 2,000 Miles or a maximum of 25,000 Miles in a calendar year.

Miles are non-refundable and must be purchased at least 48 hours before your booking.
Please note that tier miles cannot be purchased.

Your FlySmiLes Miles, can also be redeemed by contacting your local SriLankan Airlines
reservation/ticketing offices or the FlySmiLes Service Centre.

You can also visit our website, where you can view a selection of the Rewards available.
SriLankan Flight Redemptions and Upgrade Rewards
With free Reward flights starting from just 10,000 FlySmiLes Miles, you can fly on the Sri
Lankan network, the moment you clock the required miles. You can also use your Miles
for Upgrades from Economy to Business Class from just 5,000 Redemption Miles
onwards. Infant rewards are available for 10% of the adult redemption level and are
applicable to Reward flights and Upgrades only.

Fly Anytime
SriLankan has no blackout dates, so you can redeem Miles for flights on almost any day
of the year. At peak periods of travel the demand for Reward seats may exceed the
availability. To avoid disappointment we recommend you to plan your trip well ahead.
Alternately you can select a different class of travel or date.

Economy Rewards
An Economy flight requires the lowest number of Miles. However, availability is
restricted, particularly on popular routes and at certain times of the year.

Reward Rules

1. All flight Rewards are for a return trip (except upgrade Rewards that are one
way).

2. All Rewards shown in the Reward charts use the most direct routing to a
destination via Colombo, Any other routing will require combining two or more
Rewards in order to fulfill a redemption request.

3. You are allowed a total of one stop-over on any return trip, plus point of turn
around. Please check at time of booking.

4. Reward ticket coupons cannot be used out of sequence.

5. A reward may be given to anyone you designate except Baggage Bonus


Member’s who need to pre-register upto a maximum of 5 nominees.

6. When requesting a Reward, you will be required to complete a Reward


Nomination Form and supply a copy of your passport.

1. Reward flights must be booked and ticketed at least seven days prior to
departure. Once flights are ticketed, only date changes within ticket validity are
allowed, subject to availability. After the ticket is issued changes in the reward
class can now be processed for a service fee of US$ 50, which applies per ticket,
per transaction if the new date is within 7 days of the revised travel date. This
service fee is only waived for Gold Members and business class tickets. All
reward tickets are subject to taxes applicable at the time of issue.

7. Wait listing is not available for reward itineraries.

8. Reward tickets are re-routable to another zone at a service fee of USD50 plus the
applicable miles. Service fees will not apply if change is done within the same
zone. and once travel has commenced they are non-refundable.

9. All applicable taxes and other charges should be collected separately and cannot
be paid by reward miles.

10. When cancelling an expired Reward ticket a member will receive a refund of
taxes only. Service fee will not be charged for cancelling reward tickets. Tax
refund on Reward tickets can only be claimed from the issuing city.
Note : Expired miles will not be re credited.

11. For non expired tickets a charge of USD 50 will apply to re credit the mileage.

Note : Once travel has commenced on a Reward ticket, the Reward is considered as
utilized.

12. Reward tickets are valid for 01 year from the date of issue.

13. Redemption tickets issued on economy class cannot be upgraded by using miles

14. A member (Blue/Silver) will have to pay a service charge if the reward booking is
done within 07 days of travel. If the PNR is cancelled due to an expiry of time
limit and re booked on the same PNR to travel within 07 days the rush reward
fee of 50 USD will apply.

Eg: Booking made on 01st Oct to travel on the 10th Oct with a time limit for the
reservation 1400/05Oct booking gets cancelled due to time limit expiry, but on the same
day member contacts UL again and get a booking done on same PNR to travel for the
10th Oct. Take the new booking date as 05th Oct and inform member to pay 50USD as
the rush reward as it is within 07 days. Always consider the day you create the booking
as the new booking date.

15. Reward tickets can be utilized to travel to a particular city and return from
another, provided the cities are within the same zone.

16. If there is any inconsistency between these Rules and the Terms and Conditions
of the FlySmiLes Programme updated on the website, the latter will prevail.

17. Infant Reward tickets will only be issued along with the accompanying
passenger/parent

Rewards Upgrades

1. A revenue ticket MUST be purchased prior to an upgrade being processed.

2. The booking class for FlySmiles upgrade will be “C” class.

3. FlySmiles service centre will process FlySmiles upgrades for confirmed economy
class booking for same day same flight only.

4. Upgrades on UL should be requested 48 hours prior to departure


5. Infants can also be upgraded to a higher cabin class if holding a revenue ticket.
When an upgrade is required for an infant, it is mandatory to process this along
with the upgrade requests of the adult accompanying passenger/parent. Infant
upgrades cannot be processed separately.

6. Date changes on Reward upgrade could be done without a service charge.

7. Upgrade could be done one way or return journey.

8. If an upgrade is not utilized it could be re credited in to the members account


without a service fee. Re crediting of miles could be done if the miles have not
expired

Terms and Conditions of FlySmiLes

A. Membership of FlySmiLes

1. Application for Membership of FlySmiLes is open to any person who is eighteen


years of age and above

2. This programme is not valid for enrolment or redemption wherever any similar
programmes are prohibited by Law

3. Membership is not transferable.

4. Membership commences when SriLankan Airlines accepts the application for


Membership and an account is created in the system.

5. SriLankan Airlines reserves the right to reject any application for Membership
acting on its own discretion. If SriLankan Airline does so, then any privileges that
any applicant may have earned or accrued by a temporary card shall be null and
void.

6. There is no fee for Membership as of current. SriLankan Airlines reserves the


right to charge a fee in future.

7. Members will receive a permanent FlySmiLes Membership Card only on


completion of four economy class sectors or one business class sector within a
twelve month period from the date of enrolment. Until such time, Members
shall use the temporary paper card. The permanent FlySmiLes Membership Card
must be signed by the Member, without which it cannot be used. The FlySmiLes
Membership Card is not a credit or debit card. By signing on the FlySmiLes
Membership Card, a Member is deemed to have agreed to abide by the Terms
and Conditions of Membership of FlySmiLes.

8. All FlySmiLes Membership Cards remain the property of SriLankan Airlines, and
must be returned to SriLankan Airlines by the Member if: (a) the expiry date of
the card is exceeded, if such a date is indicated on the card; (b) SriLankan
Airlines, acting in its discretion, requests the Member to return the card.

9. If a FlySmiLes Membership Card is lost, it must be reported immediately to the


FlySmiLes Service Centre, or to the nearest SriLankan Airlines office. The
replacement card will be subject to a fee of US$ 20 or 2000 Miles.

10. If a Member wishes to change personal details given to FlySmiLes, then the
Member must immediately inform such requested change to FlySmiLes
Programme. SriLankan Airlines, acting in its discretion, may allow such change. A
request for a name change requires legal proof of name change.

11. Accounts with incomplete or missing data will be considered as pending and
SriLankan Airlines may delete such accounts.

12. SriLankan Airlines reserves its right to exclude any Member from further
participation in FlySmiLes and/or Membership in FlySmiLes Silver, FlySmiLes
Gold, FlySmiLes Platinum, Baggage Plus and Baggage Premier (if such is
available), or any associated programme of FlySmiLes to be launched in the
future and revoke any or all accruals including Miles by the Member at any time
without giving any notice or reason. In such an event, all accruals including Miles
shall be forfeited without entitlement to compensation. The Member may also
be held liable for all damages, litigation and transaction costs, as the case may
be.

13. Any Member may cancel the Membership at any time by submitting the
appropriate written notification and returning the Membership card to SriLankan
Airlines, at which time any outstanding Miles, benefits and privileges will stand
as cancelled.

14. A FlySmiLes Membership Card is valid for a period of 13 months from the date of
the Tier change.

15. All taxes, duties and other liabilities arising from the earning of Miles or any
other accruals or their redemption and will always be in the sole responsibility of
Member and must be paid by the Member in advance of any redemption. Such
payment shall be in cash.
16. Membership is automatically terminated on the death or bankruptcy of a
Member. Miles earned prior to termination in these circumstances will be
immediately cancelled. However, FlySmiLes may, at its own discretion, reinstate
Miles in favour of the heirs of the deceased Member upon the application of his
or her personal representative.

B. FlySmiLes Miles

1. A Member may earn Miles by taking qualifying flights on SriLankan Airlines or


Airline Service Partners, or using the qualifying services of Service Partners, on or
after the Member’s enrolment date.

2. Miles will be earned for airline tickets as follows:


(a) Miles are awarded by FlySmiLes for airline tickets purchased in
Business and Economy Class and upon utilisation of such tickets by a
Member. If only a part of the Ticket is utilised, then the Member is
awarded Miles only in respect of the part utilised.

(b) For industry discount, agency discount, free or Reward tickets, infant
fares and other special discount tickets as specified by SriLankan Airlines
or Airline Service Partners from time to time, no Miles will be earned.

(c) SriLankan Airlines may at its discretion not permit earning of Miles for
tickets booked in certain booking classes of SriLankan Airlines. If an
itinerary has any sectors that are booked in one of such classes, those
flight sectors will be deemed ineligible for accrual of Miles.

(d) No Miles will be earned for tickets booked on charter flights of


SriLankan Airlines or Airline Partners may also exclude mileage accrual on
certain flights and classes.

(e) Regardless of the number of seats purchased by a person, Miles can


only be earned only once per flight for each person who utilises the
flight..

(f) Miles are awarded based on the actual distance travelled, as


calculated using the IATA Air Distance Manual, subject to a minimum of
500 Miles, plus other bonuses when applicable.

(g) For travel in Economy Class, Business Class on SriLankan Airlines


flights, Miles are awarded based on 100%, and 150%, of the distance
travelled respectively.
3. Miles for non-flight transactions are earned as follows:

(a) Miles awarded for non-flight transactions will be as specified within the
Service Partner category.

(b) Members earn Miles on participating credit and charge cards based on the
value of valid, eligible purchases made on the card. The type of credit/charge
card held by the Member may have bearing on the Member's status within
FlySmiLes and does not entitle the Member to any benefits that are attached to
Membership Categories of FlySmiles Programme, as per the Members’ Guide,

4. All Miles are earned to a personal account (for which the Membership Number is
given) for each respective Member.

5. Miles do not have a real cash value and FlySmiLes will not exchange Miles for
cash under any circumstances.

6. Members must state their FlySmiLes Membership number at the time of


reservation and present their signed FlySmiLes Membership Card when they use
the services of SriLankan Airlines or selected FlySmiLes Service Partners, in order
to ensure that the Miles they earn are credited to their account. If the Miles
credited are incorrect, Members should inform FlySmiLes within six (06) months
of travel.

7. Only certain specified transactions (as listed in the FlySmiLes Members’ Guide)
will be deemed eligible for mileage accrual. These are listed in the FlySmiLes
website under Individual Service Partners' Terms and Conditions. Programme
rules may also apply in addition to the above.

8. Regardless of who pays for the ticket or the transaction, Miles can only be
earned for flight and non-flight transactions carried out by an individual
FlySmiLes Member. Members must travel or use the products and services
offered by the Service Partners to receive Miles. For unused tickets, unconsumed
products or returned products and services, no Miles will be received.

9. If any Service Partner disallows certain categories of their Members from


transferring Points (or Miles as the case may be) earned in their programme to
the Member's Account, then no such transfer is possible.

10. Miles are awarded at SriLankan Airlines' discretion. SriLankan Airlines reserves
the right not to award Miles on flights where any flight coupon utilisation in the
ticket does not comply with the General Conditions of Carriage for Passengers
and Baggage of SriLankan Airlines, or where the Member (or Nominee as the
case may be) has violated the Law.

11. Bonus Miles (if such is granted) earned from promotions will be only be credited
at the end of the promotional period.

12. Members may use Miles, as soon as those Miles have been credited to
Members' accounts.

13. Miles may be pooled provided there is a minimum of 2000 Miles in each
Membership Account. Miles can be transferred from a maximum of two member
accounts and a maximum of 30,000 miles can be obtained by a member for a
calendar year. A maximum of 30,000 miles can be transferred per member per
calendar year.

14. SriLankan Airlines reserves the right to cancel Membership account and all Miles
in the account, if it is found to be used by more than one person.

15. Members are only eligible for Miles with one frequent flyer programme for each
flight or transaction. If a Member attempts to earn Miles (or whatever credits)
with more than one programme for the same flight or transaction, the Miles, (or
whatever credits) awarded for the flight or transaction on FlySmiLes will be
forfeited.

16. In the event Miles do not appear in a Member's Account, the Member may
request that the Miles be retroactively credited to his/her Account up to six
months following the flight or transaction concerned. This is done by forwarding
a request letter giving details, along with a copy of the original boarding pass.
Members should allow six to eight weeks for eligible retroactive Miles to appear
in their FlySmiLes account.

17. Members should check with the respective Service Partner's office, with regard
to enquiries for Miles transferred from a Service Partner's programme to
FlySmiLes, where the original transfer request was made. Miles can be
transferred from a Service Partner programme to Member's FlySmiLes account,
however, this action cannot be reversed.

18. Requests for Miles, which are claimed by the Member and not been credited, in
respect of Service Partners, must be forwarded to the respective Service
Partners. In any event such claims will only be entertained if Members have
identified themselves as Members when making a reservation and the
Membership Card was presented at the time of making use of the products and
services offered by Service Partners.
19. Members should allow one to three weeks for Miles earned on SriLankan Airlines
and FlySmiLes partner airline flights, and six to eight weeks for Miles earned with
other Service Partners, to appear in their account before raising a claim for Miles
which do not appear in a Member’s Account.

20. All retroactive mileage claims that are made prior to enrolment in FlySmiLes,
which are more than two months old as calculated from the date of utilisation of
the ticket, are not valid.

21. Details of the statement could be viewed on-line by logging onto


www.flysmiles.com

22. Where such facility is available, claims for retroactive Miles submitted online
may be resolved immediately and retroactive Miles credited in the next
statement cycle, if all required information submitted are correct and match
those on record and in system.

23. Miles in a Member’s Account shall remain valid for period of three years.

24. Account summary and transactions could be viewed by the member on-line.

25. A Member who has received Denied Boarding Compensation (DBC) or has used
the Preferences scheme of SriLankan Airlines cannot earn Miles on such flights.

26. A Member will be credited Miles (based on original routing only) for cancelled
flights when re-accommodated on a non-Service Partner airline provided that
the Member already had a ticket for the cancelled flight and the flight is
cancelled on the day of departure. However, such crediting will not occur if the
cancellation is due to circumstances beyond the control of the relevant airline,
including but not limited to weather, earthquake, fire, labour stoppages or
strikes, civil unrest or closed airports.

27. Subject to limitations imposed, Miles can be purchased at any time but must be
made at least 48 hours prior to making a booking/redemption. Refunds in
respect of Mile purchases are not allowed. FlySmiLes reserves the right to
change the price of Miles, impose additional restrictions on purchasing Miles
and/or conditions of obtaining Miles. If FlySmiLes allows a Member to purchase
Miles online on www.flysmiles.com, then the terms and conditions relating to
issuance of such Miles shall be incorporated herein.
C. FlySmiLes Silver and FlySmiLes Gold

1. A Member may be granted a ‘''Silver'' or ''Gold'' Membership depending on the


number of qualifying flights flown and/or Miles earned in a calendar year. Such a
Member is required to take the number of qualifying flights or earn qualifying
number of Miles within a calendar year to sustain his Membership in each of
''Silver'' or ''Gold'' category, as indicated in the FlySmiLes Member’s Guide.

2. The number of Miles required for each Membership Category and the benefits
and privileges provided to a Member at each Membership Category may be
changed by FlySmiLes at any time without notice.

3. FlySmiLes reserves its right to establish, upgrade or downgrade a Member's


Membership Category at its sole discretion. Only Miles accumulated within a
twelve month period from the date of enrolment will be considered in granting a
particular Membership Category.

4. If pre-assigned seating is made available to Members on the basis of


Membership Category, then it is mandatory that the Member books the seat at
least 48 hours in advance.

5. If a Member ceases to take the number of qualifying flights or earn qualifying


number of Miles within the stipulated twelve month period as applicable to each
Membership Category, the Membership will be down graded to the next tier.

D. Rewards

1. The Rewards offered by FlySmiLes consist of free tickets, free upgrades and
other redemption options as defined by FlySmiLes from time to time. No Reward
has a cash value and is not exchangeable for cash at any time.

2. Only FlySmiLes Service Centres and SriLankan Airlines’ offices worldwide are
authorised to issue Reward tickets. A Member shall request for Rewards through
a FlySmiLes Service Centre or a SriLankan Airlines’ office, in accordance with
procedures that may be enforced from time to time for issuing Rewards. Round-
trip and one-way Rewards upgrades on SriLankan Airlines can also be redeemed
through www.srilankan.aero as and when such facility may become available.
Travel agents cannot issue Reward tickets or any of the Rewards.

3. Members will only be eligible for Reward tickets if they clearly indicate at the
time of reservation that they are redeeming Miles for the flight desired.
4. Miles must be valid when a Reward ticket is issued. For this reason, Members
should ensure that ticketing takes place before expiry of Miles, if applicable.
Members must ensure that they have sufficient Miles in their accounts before a
Reward ticket is issued.

5. A child nominee requires the same number of Miles for redemption for a
Reward.

6. An infant nominee requires ten per cent (10%) of Miles for redemption for a
Reward.

7. Members shall report any suspected unauthorised Reward claims from their
Accounts within three months of such unauthorised transaction activity for any
corrective action to be possible. Any later complaint will not be entertained by
FlySmiLes.

8. Travel on Reward tickets is subject to capacity controls of SriLankan Airlines. This


means that SriLankan Airlines may limit the number of seats available for Reward
tickets on particular flights. Seats for Reward Tickets may not be available on all
flights or in all classes. However, there will be no blackout dates.

9. Service Partners may impose blackout periods when Reward redemption is not
permitted by such Service Partners.

10. When a Member selects services and/goods from a Service Partner the contract
for such services and/or goods is between the Member and Service Partner.
Accordingly the terms and conditions of the Service Partner shall apply to
purchase of the goods and/or services selected by the Member. The Member
must read the terms and conditions and also check with the Service Partner prior
to selecting the goods and/or services. By accepting the Service Partner's offer,
the member is agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions of the purchase
imposed by the Service Partner, including payment of all amounts when due (if
any) and compliance with all rules and restrictions regarding booking,
availability, cancellation and refunds in respect of the services and/or goods. In
respect of any transaction above, the Member must directly communicate with
the Service Provider.

11. Reward tickets are subject to, and the passenger is responsible for, applicable
departure taxes; other airport or government handling fees; and any fuel or
other surcharges imposed by SriLankan Airlines, or any other participating
Carriers. Payment for such taxes, fees or charges will be in USD or the local
currency equivalent and must be payable by the Member (or passenger as the
case may be) at the time of ticketing.

12. Members can only use Miles to redeem Rewards. Reward redemption cannot be
combined with any other means of payment, except where (a) a top-up is
performed by buying Miles; (b) a transfer is made from another account or (c)
facility is made available by SriLankan Airlines for its customers on its Internet
Booking Engine at www.srilankan.aero to pay for tickets by using a combination
of cash and Miles.
13. A Reward ticket may be re-issued, but only for travel by the same person and
provided no part of the Reward ticket has been utilised and on the condition that
Miles used for the Reward Ticket would not have expired if the Reward ticket
was not issued. Additional Miles may be charged for such transaction. If the new
journey requires fewer Miles, the excess Miles will be refunded. The Reward
ticket at the point of reissue must still be valid. There will be a reissue fee for
each ticket, if the number of Miles required for such subsequent Reward ticket is
not equal to the previous Reward ticket. The reissued ticket must have the same
expiry date as the original ticket and it must be for the same airline. However, if
the date of the first flight on the reissued ticket is earlier than that of the original
ticket, then the expiry date of the reissued ticket will be readjusted to the earlier
date accordingly.

14. Passengers travelling on Reward tickets with a confirmed reservation and fail to
show up for the flight, it will be considered a ‘no-show’. A ‘no-show’ fee may be
charged as applicable.

15. Miles of completely unused Reward tickets may be re-deposited for a fee of USD
50/- provided that the ticket is valid at the time of re-depositing and on the
condition that Miles used for the Reward Ticket would not have expired if the
Reward ticket was not issued.

16. In the event of a flight disruption, passengers travelling on Reward tickets will be
re-routed as per the rules applicable for fare-paying passengers.

17. A passenger's use of a Reward ticket is subject to the terms and conditions set by
both the issuing airline and the airline providing the carriage, if different carriers
are involved.

18. All carriage on and all tickets issued on behalf of an airline are subject to the
normal rules outlined in each airline's Conditions of Carriage, copies of which
may be obtained directly from the airline. Reward tickets are issued on the basis
that all passengers travelling on Reward Tickets must have appropriate visas,
travel documents and inoculations (if any) as required for travel by any country
of transit or visit.

19. Tickets for all Reward travel will only be issued for a confirmed reservation on all
sectors. Open-dated tickets and request tickets (RQ) are not allowed.
20. All Reward tickets are valid for twelve months from the date of issue. Reward
tickets cannot be extended.

21. Upgrade Rewards are subject to the rules of purchased tickets. For upgrade
Reward redemption, a copy of the purchased commercial ticket or passenger
receipt or e-ticket number is required for verification and reissue. Industry
discount, agency discount, free or Reward tickets cannot be used for upgrades.
22. Confirmed bookings must be ticketed within the Ticketing Time Limit. Waitlisted
bookings which become confirmed must be ticketed prior to the Ticketing Time
Limit or the entire itinerary will be cancelled. SriLankan Airlines will not be held
liable for cancellation of a booking that is not ticketed prior to the Ticketing Time
Limit. No wait listing is permitted.

23. Reward calculation rules are as follows:

(a) FlySmiLes reserves the right to modify, decrease or increase the amount of Miles
required for a Reward Ticket for any sector. Similarly any Service Partner may modify,
decrease or increase the amount of Miles required for a particular redemption.

(b) Travel must be via a published route. Reservations which are out of sequence, are
not permitted except as required by route restrictions.

(c) Reward tickets on SriLankan Airlines and all other Rewards Partner airlines must be
ticketed separately.

(d) A Member is allowed to make one origin, open ended single open-jaw, on SriLankan
Airlines only.

(e) If a Member wishes to claim a Reward for an itinerary that is not available on the
Member’s Guide, then the Member may opt to combine two or more redemptions to
do so, but such redemption will be at the discretion of FlySmiLes.

24. Members who have insufficient Miles of the total Miles needed to redeem a Reward
ticket may purchase up to a maximum of 25,000 FlySmiLes Miles needed to redeem a
Reward ticket, per calendar year. Purchased Miles must be redeemed immediately on
purchase. Miles can only be purchased and used against the redemption of Reward
tickets and Reward upgrade issued on SriLankan Airlines (and other Service Partner
airlines if specified). Miles can be purchased only by contacting the FlySmiLes Service
Centre and SriLankan Airlines Offices.

25. Miles, if purchased shall be of a minimum purchase of 2,000 Miles. The price per
1,000 Miles is USD twenty five (USD 25/-) or the local currency equivalent. Purchased
Miles are non-refundable. In the case where Miles from a completely unused Reward
ticket are re-deposited into a Members account, any purchased Miles will not be
refunded and will be credited to the Member’s account. The maximum amount of Miles
that a Member can purchase pursuant to this clause, in any one calendar year, is 25,000
Miles.

26. Additional Terms and Conditions for Reward upgrades are as follows:

(a) SriLankan Airlines may limit Reward upgrades to certain booking classes. In an
itinerary with multiple sectors, only the sectors booked under these classes are eligible
for upgrade Reward redemption.

(b) All tables for Reward upgrades are based on one-way trips. Round-trip Reward
upgrades require double the miles of a one-way upgrade.

(c) Reward upgrades are available only on SriLankan Airlines and for airline Tickets
issued on IATA Airline Code 603 only.

F. Baggage Bonus Programme

1. A FlySmiles Member may be granted a ‘''Baggage Plus or “Baggage Premier''


Membership Category upon acceptance of the Baggage Bonus application by
FlySmiLes and depending on the number of qualifying flights flown and/or Miles
earned in a calendar year by such Member. Such a Member is required to take
the number of qualifying flights or earn qualifying number of Miles within a
calendar year to sustain his Membership in each of ‘''Baggage Plus or “Baggage
Premier'' Membership Category, as stated in the Member’s Guide. A Baggage
Bonus member can nominate a total of five persons to receive Reward tickets
from his account. If miles are transferred to another member this person will be
considered a nominee.

2. The number of Miles required for each Membership Category and the benefits
and privileges provided to a Member at each Membership Category may be
changed by FlySmiLes at any time without notice.

3. FlySmiLes reserves its right to establish, upgrade or downgrade a Member's


Membership Category at its sole discretion. Only Miles accumulated in each
calendar year are considered in granting a particular Membership Category and
are not carried forward to the following calendar year.
4. If a Member ceases to take the number of qualifying flights or earn qualifying
number of Miles within a calendar year as applicable to each Membership
Category, then the Membership Card issued for the Member in the relevant
Membership Category, maybe cancelled or recalled at the discretion of
FlySmiLes Programme or SriLankan Airlines.

5. A member must return the FlySmiLes Silver or Gold membership card and
luggage tags to the FlySmiLes service centre, Colombo, in exchange for the
FlySmiLes Baggage Bonus card and membership pack.

6. A Member who decides to join the FlySmiLes Baggage Bonus Programme shall
forthwith relinquish certain benefits (as indicated in the Member’s Guide) and
the right to join or continue in the FlySmiLes Silver or Gold tiers.

7. Additional Terms and Conditions for redemption of Miles for Excess Baggage, are
as follows:

(a) Redemption of Miles for Excess Baggage shall be permitted by way of issuance of a
Miscellaneous Charges Order (MCO).

(b) Colombo must be included in the itinerary, either as an origin, destination or transit
point.

(c) Only SriLankan Airlines’ ticket offices in Sri Lanka, South India and Pakistan will issue
MCOs.

(d) MCOs can also be obtained from the Katunayaka Airport ticket office in Sri Lanka,
during certain working hours as specified in the Member’s Guide.

(e) Only a Maximum number of 50,000 Miles can be redeemed on a single MCO.

(f) MCOs have to be obtained at least 24 hours prior to a flight.

(g) MCOs are valid for one year from the date of issue and will have to be redeemed in
multiples of 10kgs.

(h) 25kgs free baggage allowance for Baggage Bonus plus and 35kgs free for Premier
Members will be applicable over and above the baggage allowance practiced on the
Baggage Bonus Network only.

(i) Rewards may be transferred to nominees by signing the Nomination Form.

(j) The MCOs can only be utilized on SriLankan on the routes specified.

(k) An MCO, which has been lost, stolen or destroyed, may be replaced if the Member
signs an appropriate indemnity form, pays the applicable service fee and it can be
established that the MCO was not fully utilized prior to its loss, theft or destruction.

(l) The FlySmiLes Baggage Bonus card should be presented at the check in counter in
order to claim 25kgs/35kgs free baggage allowance.

(m) MCOs that are entirely unutilized may be re-credited to member accounts subject to
payment of US$50 as service fee.

G. Data Protection and Privacy

1. For the proper operation and functionality of FlySmiLes, a Member is required to


disclose Personal information relating to the Member or the Member’s
nominees. When a Member discloses information relating to Nominees, the
Member warrants that the Member has authority to do so.

2. All such Member information provided will be held by FlySmiLes includes the
information which a Member or a Service Partner provides to FlySmiLes, such as
names; addresses; passport numbers; contact numbers; date of birth; and
transaction details, flight and meal preferences, including Miles accrual and
Reward transactions relating to FlySmiLes:

(a) may be used to develop new services;

(b) may be used for accounting and audit purposes (including fraud
auditing);

(c) may be used for credit checking and credit scoring;

(d) may be used for marketing and market research purposes;

(e) will be transferred to countries that may not have data protection
laws; and

(f) may otherwise be used in a manner which a Member may authorise


from time to time.
3. All such Member information provided will be held by FlySmiLes:

(a) will be retained and used by FlySmiLes, Affiliates and data processors to
ensure the efficient running of the Programme, including the crediting of Miles,
the provision of membership statements and the awarding of membership
levels;

(b) may be disclosed as required by law, including disclosures to the police,


immigration and customs authorities in any country;

(c) may be used by FlySmiLes to send you communications about promotions,


services, products and facilities offered by FlySmiLes;

(d) may be disclosed to a Service Partner to assist that Service Partner in the
planning and development of FlySmiLes;

(e) may be used by a Service Partner to send you separate communications


about services, products and facilities offered by that a Service Partner (unless
the Member indicates otherwise); and

4. The consent given by a Member will continue in effect unless and until the
Member withdraws the consent by notice in writing to a FlySmiLes Service
Centre. Withdrawal of consent is effective only upon such request is received by
the FlySmiLes Service Centre, and may mean that certain services may no longer
be provided to the Member, and shall also entitle FlySmiLes to terminate
Membership immediately.

5. A Member may obtain a copy of his or her Member information upon making a
written request to FlySmiLes to provide such Member information. The Member
may request FlySmiLes to correct or delete any item of the Member information
which is not accurate, complete or up-to-date at no charge to the Member.

6. The FlySmiLes Web site www.flysmiles.com and SriLankan Airlines Web site
www.srilankan.aero may use “cookies” to identify and facilitate a Member’s next
visit to the respective Web sites. A member may choose to set notification
standards on his Web browser, and thereby retain the option of choosing to
accept or reject such cookies. However rejecting such cookies may cause the
Member the inability to retain some functionality of the Web sites.
I. Liability and Warranty Provisions

1. SAVE AS MAY NOT BE EXCLUDED BY LAW, NO WARRANTY (WHETHER EXPRESS


OR IMPLIED) WHATSOEVER IS GIVEN IN RESPECT OF REWARDS PROVIDED
UNDER FLYSMILES. IN PARTICULAR, NO WARRANTY IS GIVEN WITH RESPECT TO
THE QUALITY OF REWARDS OR THEIR SUITABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY
PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

2. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FLYSMILES ACCEPTS NO LIABILITY


WHATSOEVER IN RESPECT OF REWARDS SUPPLIED BY SERVICE PARTNERS IN
CONNECTION WITH A SERVICE PARTNER'S REFUSAL TO SUPPLY A REWARD TO
THE MEMBER. The rights, if any, which a Member may have in connection with a
Reward are solely against the Service Partner supplying that Reward. Subject to
this clause, all Rewards supplied to a Member will be subject exclusively to the
terms and conditions of Service Partners supplying the Reward.

3. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW AND SUBJECT TO THESE


PROGRAMME RULES, THE LIABILITY OF FLYSMILES AND SRILANKAN AIRLINES, OR
A SERVICE PARTNER IN RESPECT OF FLIGHTS, GOODS OR SERVICES WHICH ARE
THE SUBJECT OF A REWARD IS LIMITED TO ANY ONE OR MORE OF THE
FOLLOWING:(a) REPLACEMENT OF THE GOODS OR SUPPLY OF EQUIVALENT
GOODS; (b) THE REPAIR OF THE GOODS; (c) THE REPAYMENT OF THE COSTS IN
REPLACING THE GOODS OR OF ACQUIRING EQUIVALENT GOODS AND IN THE
CASE OF SERVICES OR FLIGHTS, HAVING THE SERVICE OR FLIGHT SUPPLIED
AGAIN, AT THE OPTION OF FLYSMILES, OR THE SERVICE PARTNER NOMINATED
TO SUPPLY THE FLIGHT, GOODS OR SERVICES AS THE CASE MAY BE.

4. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FLYSMILES ACCEPTS NO


LIABILITY IN RESPECT OF DEATH OR INJURY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR
DAMAGES ARISING FROM, OR IN CONNECTION WITH, THE SUPPLY OF A REWARD
(OTHER THAN THE USE OF A REWARD TICKET) OR FOR THE LOSS, THEFT OR
DESTRUCTION OF A REWARD. A Reward ticket which has been lost, stolen or
destroyed may be replaced or reissued if the Member promptly reports the
incident to the nearest SriLankan Airlines’ office, signs an appropriate indemnity
form at an SriLankan Airlines’ office, pays the applicable service fee (which is
currently set at US$ 50 per ticket) and can establish that the Reward ticket was
not used prior to its loss, theft or destruction. In respect of a Reward ticket,
neither FlySmiLes, SriLankan Airlines or a Service Partner (as the case may be)
accepts any liability other than as set out in the General Conditions of Carriage
and travel documents of the relevant airline (as may be amended and applicable
to the relevant airline, and the Conventions.
5. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER FLYSMILES NOR
SRILANKAN AIRLINES WILL BE LIABLE TO A MEMBER OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR
ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE, WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT, RESULTING FROM
TERMINATION OR CHANGE OF OR TO FLYSMILES OR ANY OF THE FACILITIES,
BENEFITS OR ARRANGEMENTS WHICH ARE MADE AVAILABLE TO A MEMBER,
INCLUDING SERVICE PARTNER WITHDRAWAL OR THE WITHDRAWAL OF ANY
BENEFITS, FACILITIES OR ARRANGEMENTS.

6. FlySmiLes reserves its right to, suspend or disqualify or terminate a Member


from further participation in the Programme, to cancel all previously
accumulated Miles and to seek compensation for Rewards utilised if, in the sole
judgment of FlySmiLes Programme,

(a) The Member has engaged in wilful misconduct or breached any of the rules
governing FlySmiLes, including but not limited to, fraudulent acquisition of Miles
or acquisition, sale or abuse of Miles or acquisition, sale or abuse of Reward
benefits;

(b) The Member has engaged in misuse or abuse of privileges FlySmiLes


Programme; and

(c) The Member has been abused staff of SriLankan Airlines or has been named
as a disruptive pax previously by any Airline.

7. From time to time, FlySmiLes may make offers relating to goods and services
which are by third party suppliers (each a "Supplier"). All Members who take
advantage of these goods and services will be entering into a legal relationship
with the Supplier and FlySmiLes makes no representation as to such goods and
services of a Supplier. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FlySmiLes
excludes all liability to any Member or other person of whatsoever nature in
respect of any negligence, wilful misconduct, poor service or other breach of
obligation arising out of the provision or failure to provide the services by or on
behalf of a Supplier arising out of that legal relationship with a Supplier.

J. General Provisions

1. These Terms and Conditions and Programme Guides may be changed, varied,
suspended or terminated at any time without notice where permitted by law,
save that reasonable efforts will be used to promptly post details of that change
or variation, suspension or termination (as the case may be) to the Web site of
FlySmiLes at www.flysmiles.com and www.srilankan.aero. In the event of any
conflict between this version of the Programme Rules and any version of the
Programme Terms and Conditions and Programme Guide published on the
above Web site, the latter shall prevail.

2. The Member's use of his or her membership card or quoting of his or her
membership number after any change or variation to the Programme Terms and
Conditions will be deemed to be acceptance by the Member to that change or
variation.

3. Any notice to be given to a Member under these Programme Terms and


Conditions will be deemed to have been given if posted by pre-paid post to the
Member at the address provided by the Member for the purposes of FlySmiLes.
If only an electronic mail address has been provided, then any notice to be given
to a Member these Programme Terms and Conditions will be deemed to have
been given, when an electronic mail is sent by FlySmiLes to the Member.

4. The Programme Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the
Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and any proceeding with respect to or
in connection with FlySmiLes must be brought in that jurisdiction.

5. Membership, including eligibility for Membership and any Miles or Rewards, is


subject to any applicable laws and regulations, including all applicable
resolutions of the International Air Transport Association (if any).

6. FlySmiLes will cease to operate in a jurisdiction in which it becomes prohibited


by any relevant law or governmental direction.

7. Reasonable care has been taken to ensure that information contained in the
Programme Terms and Conditions, Programme Guide and in any publications
and advertisements in connection with FlySmiLes is accurate, but neither
FlySmiLes nor SriLankan Airlines accepts any liability with respect to any errors or
omissions in any information, whether written or verbal.

8. Any part of these Programme Terms and Conditions which is or becomes


unenforceable for any reason shall be considered capable of being cut out so as
not to affect the remainder of these Programme Rules in any way. Neither
FlySmiLes Programme nor SriLankan Airlines shall be required to provide any
service or otherwise act in pursuance of these Programme Rules if to do so
would be contrary to law.

9. Members may be required to provide documentation at check-in that can


establish the Member's identity and membership to FlySmiLes. If a Member fails
to comply with this requirement, FlySmiLes reserves the right to refuse carriage
and benefits on the program.

Baggage Bonus Programme

K. Definitions

1. In these Programme Terms and Conditions the following words shall have the
meaning set forth against them:
Account Means the account to which the Miles of a Member will be earned or
deducted;

Family Bonus Member Means a person as defined in Section E of the Terms and
Conditions;

Member Means a person who has applied for membership of FlySmiLes and has been
issued a membership number in this respect;

Membership Means the status of a Member in FlySmiLes;

Membership Category Means a membership level in FlySmiLes;

Miles Means units of measurement, earned by a Member under FlySmiLes based on the
consumption of qualifying goods and services;

Reward Means specified goods or services to be provided by FlySmiLes or a Service


Partner to a Member in exchange for Miles;

Service Partner Means a provider of goods or services which is participating in FlySmiLes


from time to time, and may include airlines, hotels and resorts, financial, leisure &
lifestyle service providers and car hire companies;

FlySmiLes / FlySmiLes Programme Means, as the context requires, the frequent flyer /
loyalty programme owned and operated by SriLankan Airlines and shall include
SriLankan Airlines where the context so requires. FlySmiLes is a trademark or registered
trademark of SriLankan Airlines;

FlySmiLes Service Centre Means the service centres for Members established by
SriLankan Airlines in Colombo, and other locations fro time to time and having the
contact details as published by FlySmiLes;

SriLankan Airlines Means SriLankan Airlines Limited, a company (limited in liability)


incorporated and existing under the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri
Lanka;

Conventions

Means the Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules Relating to International
Carriage by Air, signed at Warsaw, 12 October 1929 (hereinafter referred to as the
Warsaw Convention); the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague on 28
September 1955; the Warsaw Convention as amended by Additional Protocol No. 1 of
Montreal (1975); the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague and by Additional
Protocol No. 2 of Montreal (1975); the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague
and by Additional Protocol No. 4 of Montreal (1975); the Guadalajara supplementary
Convention (1961); the Montreal Convention (1999)

2. In these Programme Terms and Conditions unless a contrary intention appears:

(a) a reference to the singular includes a reference to the plural, and vice versa;
(b) a reference to a gender includes a reference to the opposite gender;
(c) a reference to a party includes a reference to its authorized employees; and

However, if Miles earned during a calendar year are less than 10,000, then the
respective Miles that you have earned in that particular year will expire, if unutilised
within three years. The expiry of Miles would occur on 30th June every year.

Tier Miles
Tier Miles are used to determine your Membership Category in the programme and are
earned every time you fly with SriLankan.

While your FlySmiLes Miles can be redeemed for Rewards, Tier Miles help you to
progress through the Membership Categories to Silver and Gold. They are earned on an
annual basis whenever you fly with SriLankan, at a rate of one Tier Mile per Mile flown
in Economy Class and 50% more Tier Miles per Mile flown in Business Class.

Earning FlySmiLes Miles


The fastest way to earn FlySmiLes Miles is to fly with SriLankan* or one of our partners
where you will receive one FlySmiLes Mile per actual Mile flown** in Economy Class,
and 50% more FlySmiLes Miles per actual Mile flown in Business Class.

To ensure that you receive your Miles, always remember to quote your FlySmiLes
Membership number when making reservations and present your card at check-in.
In order for the Miles to be credited, the full name on your reservation must match the
full name on your card.

Silver and Gold Membership Category Bonuses

We believe that, the more you fly, the more Rewards you should enjoy. So, the higher
your FlySmiLes Membership Tier, the more FlySmiLes Miles you actually earn. When
travelling on SriLankan, in addition to Miles earned, FlySmiLes Silver Members can earn
an additional 25% FlySmiLes Miles bonus based on the Miles flown, while FlySmiLes
Gold Members earn an additional 50% bonus.

Your tier status will be valid for the rest of the calendar year, in which it is earned,
plus an additional 15 months.
For example, if you earn FlySmiles Silver status in June 2008, you will remain in this tier

privileges' section in this guide.

Tier miles validity


Tier miles are accumulated from 1st January to 31st December each calendar year, at
which time your tier miles account is reset to zero.

Permanent Membership
In order to obtain the permanent card a member should fly 04 sectors on Economy class
or 01 sector on Business class on Sri Lankan within a period of 12 months from the 1st
Flight.

For greater convenience and promptness, you will automatically receive your FlySmiles

Missing Miles and retro credits


Now you can retro claim all the Miles not credited on Sri Lankan flights or missing
transactions by, simply sending your original boarding card and a copy of your ticket
coupon or invoice from our partner organisation to your FlySmiles Service centre within
six months of the transaction.
And always remember to keep a copy of the original documents for your reference.

designated Economy Class fully flexible ticket, your FlySmiles Gold membership

desired class. To avail of this benefit, a copy of your ticket must be faxed to the service

Excess Baggage Redemption Table

The following table shows you how many Miles you need to redeem for 10kgs free
excess baggage on a single flight between the destinations included in Skywards
Baggage Bonus programme.

If you are flying from a point in south India or the Maldives to Sri Lanka, you need to
redeem 3,000 Miles for 10kgs excess baggage. This table also works vice versa. For
example, if you need 20Kgs free excess baggage on such a flight, you would need to
redeem 6,000 Skywards Miles.

Reward Rules

1. All flight rewards are for a return trip (except upgrade rewards that are one
way).

2. All rewards shown in the reward charts use the most direct routing to a
destination via Colombo, Any other routing will require combining two or more
rewards in order to fulfil a redemption request.

3. You are allowed a total of one stop-over on any return trip, plus point of Turn
around. Please check at time of booking.

4. Reward ticket coupons cannot be used out of sequence.

5. A reward may be given to anyone you designate.

6. When requesting a reward, you may be required to complete a Reward


Authorisation Form and supply a copy of your passport.

7. Reward flights must be booked and ticketed at least seven days prior to
departure. Once flights are ticketed, only date changes within ticket validity are
allowed, subject to availability. After the ticket is issued changes in the reward
class can now be processed for a service fee of US$ 50, which applies per ticket,
per transaction. This service fee is only waived for Gold Members. All reward
tickets are subject to taxes applicable at the time of issue.

8. If space is not available in your desired reward class for your entire journey,
you may either:
i. Claim part of your reward trip in a higher class, at which point the
applicable number of Miles will be deducted. (This is not permitted
when redeeming)

9. Wait listing is not available for reward itineraries.


10. Reward tickets are re-routable to another zone at a service fee of 50USD plus the
applicable miles. Service fees will not apply if change is done within the same
zone. and once travel has commenced they are non-refundable.

11. All applicable taxes and other charges should be collected separately and cannot
be paid by reward miles.

12. When cancelling an expired reward ticket a member will receive a refund of
taxes only. Service fee will not be charged for cancelling reward tickets. Tax
refund on reward tickets can only be claimed from the issuing city.
Note : Expired miles will not be re credited.

13. For non expired tickets a charge of USD 50 will apply to re credit the mileage.
Note : Once travel has commenced on a reward ticket, the reward is considered as
utilized.

14. Reward ticket is valid for 01 year from the date of issue.

15. Redemption tickets issued on economy class cannot be upgraded by using miles

16. A member (Blue/Silver) will have to pay a service charge if the reward booking is
done within 07 days of travel. If the PNR is cancelled due to an expiry of time
limit and re booked on the same PNR to travel within 07 days the rush reward
fee of 50 USD will apply.
Eg: Booking made on 01st Oct to travel on the 10th Oct with a time limit for the
reservation 1400/05Oct booking gets cancelled due to time limit expiry, but on
the same day member contacts UL again and get a booking done on same PNR to
travel for the 10th Oct. Take the new booking date as 05th Oct and inform
member to pay 50USD as the rush reward as it is within 07 days. Always consider
the day you create the booking as the new booking date.

17. Open jaw reward tickets are possible within the same zone.

Rewards Upgrades

1. A revenue ticket MUST be purchased prior to an upgrade being processed.

2. The booking class for FlySmiles upgrade will be “C” class.

3. FlySmiles service centre will process FlySmiles upgrades for confirmed economy
class booking for Same day same flight only.
4. Upgrades on UL should request before 48 hours to the departure

5. Infants can also be upgraded to a higher cabin class if holding a revenue ticket.
When an upgrade is required for an infant, it is mandatory to process this along
with the upgrade requests of the adult accompanying passenger/parent. Infant
upgrades cannot be processed separately.

6. Date changes on Reward upgrade could be done without a service charge.

7. Upgrade could be done one way or return journey.

8. If an upgrade I not utilized it could be re credited in to the members account


without a service fee. Re crediting of miles could be done if the miles have not
expired

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF FLYSMILES

A. Membership of FlySmiLes

1. Application for Membership of FlySmiLes is open to any person who is at least


eighteen years of age or has reached the age of majority in his jurisdiction,
unless the person is applying for the FlySmiLes Junior Programme.

2. This programme is not valid for enrolment or redemption wherever any similar
programmes are prohibited by Law.

3. Membership is not transferable.

4. Membership commences when SriLankan Airlines accepts the application for


Membership.

5. SriLankan Airlines reserves the right to reject any application for Membership
acting on its own discretion. If SriLankan Airline does so, then any privileges that
any applicant may have earned or accrued by a temporary card shall be null and
void.

6. There is no fee for Membership as of current. SriLankan Airlines reserves the


right to charge a fee in future.

7. Members will receive a permanent FlySmiLes Membership Card in due course


when SriLankan Airlines accepts the application for Membership. Until such time,
Members shall use the temporary card provided. The permanent FlySmiLes
Membership Card must be signed by the Member, without which it cannot be
availed of. The FlySmiLes Membership Card is not a credit or debit card. By
signing on the FlySmiLes Membership Card, a Member is deemed to have agreed
to abide by the Terms and Conditions of Membership of FlySmiLes.

8. Miles earned by a Member during the usage of the temporary card will be
updated to the Account of the Member as retroactive Miles.

9. All FlySmiLes Membership Cards remain the property of SriLankan Airlines, and
must be returned to SriLankan Airlines by the Member if: (a) the expiry date of
the card is exceeded, if such a date is indicated on the card; (b) SriLankan
Airlines, acting in its discretion, requests the Member to return the card.

10. If a FlySmiLes Membership Card is lost, it must be reported immediately to the


FlySmiLes Service Centre, or to the nearest SriLankan Airlines office. The first
replacement card will be free of charge. Any subsequent replacement card
issued will be subject to a fee of USD 25/-.

11. If a Member wishes to change personal details given to FlySmiLes, then the
Member must immediately inform such requested change to FlySmiLes
Programme. SriLankan Airlines, acting in its discretion, may allow such change. A
request for a name change requires legal proof of name change. The Member
can also visit www.FlySmiLes.com to effect certain permitted changes and
customisation in the future.

12. Accounts with incomplete or missing data will be considered as pending and
SriLankan Airlines may delete such accounts.

13. SriLankan Airlines reserves its right to exclude any Member from further
participation in FlySmiLes and/or Membership in FlySmiLes Silver, FlySmiLes
Gold, FlySmiLes Platinum, Baggage Plus and Baggage Premier (if such is
available), or any associated programme of FlySmiLes to be launched in the
future and revoke any or all accruals including Miles by the Member at any time
without giving any notice or reason. In such an event, all accruals including Miles
shall be forfeited without entitlement to compensation. The Member may also
be held liable for all damages, litigation and transaction costs, as the case may
be.

14. Any Member may cancel the Membership at any time by submitting the
appropriate written notification and returning the Membership card to SriLankan
Airlines, at which time any outstanding Miles, benefits and privileges will stand
as cancelled.
15. A FlySmiLes Membership Card is valid for a period of 15months and the
remaining part of the year in which the earning of Miles occurred last. However,
during the validity of the Membership card, the Membership Category may be
changed, and the Membership card may become invalidated.

16. All taxes, duties and other liabilities arising from the earning of Miles or any
other accruals or their redemption are and will always be in the sole
responsibility of Member and must be paid by the Member in advance of any
redemption. Such payment shall be in cash.

17. Membership is automatically terminated on the death or bankruptcy of a


Member. Miles earned prior to termination in these circumstances will be
immediately cancelled. However, FlySmiLes may, at its own discretion, reinstate
Miles in favour of the heirs of the deceased Member upon the application of his
or her personal representative.

B. FlySmiLes Miles

1. A Member may earn Miles by taking qualifying flights on SriLankan Airlines or


Airline Service Partners, or using the qualifying services of Service Partners, on or
after the Member’s enrolment date.

2. Miles will be earned for airline tickets as follows:

(a) Miles are awarded by FlySmiLes for airline tickets purchased in Business and
Economy Class and upon utilisation of such tickets by a Member. If only a part of
the Ticket is utilised, then the Member is awarded Miles only in respect of the
part utilised.

(b) For industry discount, agency discount, free or Reward tickets, infant fares
and other special discount tickets as specified by SriLankan Airlines or Airline
Service Partners from time to time, no Miles will be earned.

(c) SriLankan Airlines may in is discretion not permit earning of Miles will be
earned for tickets booked in certain booking classes of SriLankan Airlines. If an
itinerary has any sectors that are booked in one of such classes, those flight
sectors will be deemed ineligible for accrual of Miles.

(d) No Miles will be earned for tickets booked on charter flights of SriLankan
Airlines or Airline Partners may also exclude mileage accrual on certain flights.

(e) Regardless of the number of seats purchased by a person, Miles can only be
earned only once per flight for each person who utilises the flight.
(f) Miles are awarded based on the actual distance travelled, as calculated using
the IATA Air Distance Manual, subject to a minimum of 500 Miles, plus other
bonuses when applicable.

(g) For travel In Economy Class, Business Class on SriLankan Airlines flights, Miles
are awarded based on 100%, and 150%, of the distance travelled respectively.

3. Miles for non-flight transactions are earned as follows:

(a) Miles awarded for non-flight transactions will be as specified within the
Service Partner category.

(b) Members earn Miles on participating credit and charge cards based on the
value of valid, eligible purchases made on the card. The type of credit/charge
card held by the Member has no bearing on the Member's status within
FlySmiLes and does not entitle the Member to any benefits that are attached to
Membership Categories of FlySmiles Programme, as per the Members’ Guide,

4. All Miles are earned to a personal account (for which the Membership Number is
given) for each respective Member.

5. Miles do not have a real cash value and FlySmiLes will not exchange Miles for
cash under any circumstances.

6. Members must state their FlySmiLes Membership number at the time of


reservation and present their signed FlySmiLes Membership Card when they use
the services of SriLankan Airlines or selected FlySmiLes Service Partners, in order
to ensure that the Miles they earn are credited to their account. If the Miles
credited are incorrect, Members should inform FlySmiLes within six (06) months
of receiving their statement.

7. Only certain specified transactions (as listed in the FlySmiLes Members’ Guide)
will be deemed eligible for mileage accrual. These are listed in the Programme
Guide. Individual Service Partners' Terms and Conditions and programme rules
may also apply in addition to the above.

8. Regardless of who pays for the ticket or the transaction, Miles can only be
earned for flight and non-flight transactions carried out by an individual
FlySmiLes Member. Members must travel or use the products and services
offered by the Service Partners to receive Miles. For unused tickets, unconsumed
products or returned products and services, no Miles will be received.
9. If any Service Partner disallows certain categories of their Members from
transferring Points (or Miles as the case may be) earned in their programme to
the Member's Account, then no such transfer is possible.

10. Miles are awarded at SriLankan Airlines' discretion. SriLankan Airlines reserves
the right not to award Miles on flights where any flight coupon utilisation in the
ticket does not comply with the General Conditions of Carriage for Passengers
and Baggage of SriLankan Airlines, or where the Member (or Nominee as the
case may be) has violated the Law.

11. Bonus Miles (if such is granted) earned from promotions will be only be credited
at the end of the promotional period.

12. Members may use Miles, as soon as those Miles have been credited to
Members' accounts.

13. Miles may be pooled provided that there is a minimum of 2000 Miles in each
Membership Account and subject to a maximum of two (02) Membership
Accounts.

14. SriLankan Airlines reserves the right to cancel Membership account and all Miles
in the account, if it is found to be used by more than one person.

15. Members are only eligible for Miles with one frequent flyer programme for each
flight or transaction. If a Member attempts to earn Miles (or whatever credits)
with more than one programme for the same flight or transaction, the Miles, (or
whatever credits) awarded for the flight or transaction on FlySmiLes will be
forfeited.

16. In the event Miles do not appear in a Member's Account, the Member may
request that the Miles be retroactively credited to his/her Account up to six
months following the flight or transaction concerned. This is done by forwarding
a request letter giving details, along with a copy of the original boarding pass.
Members should allow six to eight weeks for eligible retroactive Miles to appear
in their FlySmiLes account.

17. Members should check with the respective Service Partner's office, with regard
to enquiries for Miles transferred from a Service Partner's programme to
FlySmiLes, where the original transfer request was made. Miles can be
transferred from a Service Partner programme to Member's FlySmiLes account,
however, this action cannot be reversed.
18. Requests for Miles, which are claimed by the Member as not been credited, in
respect of Service Partners, must be forwarded to the respective Service
Partners. In any event such claims will only be entertained if Members have
identified themselves as Members when making a reservation and the
Membership Card was presented at the time of making use of the products and
services offered by Service Partners.

19. Members should allow one to three weeks for Miles earned on SriLankan Airlines
and FlySmiLes partner airline flights, and six to eight weeks for Miles earned with
other Service Partners, to appear in their account before raising a claim for Miles
which do not appear in a Member’s Account.

20. All retroactive mileage claims that are made prior to enrolment in FlySmiLes,
which are more than two months old as calculated from the date of utilisation of
the ticket, are not valid.

21. Miles which were earned as a part of the Previous Frequent Flyer Programme of
SriLankan Airlines, maybe transferred by the Member to FlySmiLes, provided the
Member causes such Previous Frequent Flyer Programme of SriLankan Airlines to
do so. All retroactive claims of Miles which are more than two months old, must
be credited to such Previous Frequent Flyer Programme of SriLankan, before
such Miles are transferred to FlySmiLes. SRILANKAN AIRLINES OR FLYSMILES
CANNOT ACCEPT LIABILITY FOR ANY OF THE ABOVE TRANSFER OF MILES, AND
DOES NOT GIVE A WARRANTY IN RELATION TO SUCH TRANSFER OF MILES.

22. Where such facility is available, claims for retroactive Miles submitted online
may be resolved immediately and retroactive Miles credited in the next
statement cycle, if all required information submitted are correct and match
those on record and in system.

23. Miles in a Member’s Account shall remain valid (unless the Membership lapses
or is terminated) if the Member flies on minimum sector(s) which earns the
Member, more than 10,000 Miles in a calendar year. If the Member earns less
than 10,000 Miles in a particular calendar year, then all miles earned in that
calendar year shall lapse at the end of three (03) years from the date of
transaction.

24. Account statements are sent to Members who have subscribed to them and
have made transactions in the preceding statement period.

25. A Member who has received Denied Boarding Compensation (DBC) or has used
the Preferences scheme of SriLankan Airlines cannot earn Miles on such flight.
26. A Member will be credited Miles (based on original routing only) for cancelled
flights when re-accommodated on a non-Service Partner airline provided that
the Member already had a ticket for the cancelled flight and the flight is
cancelled on the day of departure. However, such crediting will not occur if the
cancellation is due to circumstances beyond the control of the relevant airline,
including but not limited to weather, earthquake, fire, labour stoppages or
strikes, civil unrest or closed airports.

27. Subject to limitations imposed, Miles can be purchased at any time but must be
made at least 48 hours prior to making a booking/redemption. Refunds in
respect of Mile purchases are not allowed. FlySmiLes reserves the right to
change the price of Miles, impose additional restrictions on purchasing Miles
and/or conditions of obtaining Miles. If FlySmiLes allows a Member to purchase
Miles online on www.flysmiles.com, then the terms and conditions relating to
issuance of such Miles shall be incorporated herein.

C. FlySmiLes Silver and FlySmiLes Gold

1. A Member may be granted a ‘''Silver'' or ''Gold'' Membership depending on the


number of qualifying flights flown and/or Miles earned in a calendar year. Such a
Member is required to take the number of qualifying flights or earn qualifying
number of Miles within a calendar year to sustain his Membership in each of
''Silver'' or ''Gold'' category, as indicated in the FlySmiLes Member’s Guide.

2. The number of Miles required for each Membership Category and the benefits
and privileges provided to a Member at each Membership Category may be
changed by FlySmiLes at any time without notice.

3. FlySmiLes reserves its right to establish, upgrade or downgrade a Member's


Membership Category at its sole discretion. Only Miles accumulated in each
calendar year are considered in granting a particular Membership Category and
are not carried forward to the following calendar year.

4. If pre-assigned seating is made available to Members on the basis of


Membership Category, then it is mandatory that the Member books the seat at
least 48 hours in advance.

5. If a Member ceases to take the number of qualifying flights or earn qualifying


number of Miles within a calendar year as applicable to each Membership
Category, then the Membership Card issued for the Member in the relevant
Membership Category, maybe cancelled or recalled at the discretion of
FlySmiLes Programme or SriLankan Airlines.
D. Rewards

1. The Rewards offered by FlySmiLes consist of free tickets, free upgrades and
other redemption options as defined by FlySmiLes from time to time. No Reward
has a cash value and is not exchangeable for cash at any time.

2. Only FlySmiLes Service Centres and SriLankan Airlines’ offices worldwide are
authorised to issue Reward tickets. A Member shall request for Rewards through
a FlySmiLes Service Centre or a SriLankan Airlines’ office, in accordance with
procedures that may be enforced from time to time for issuing Rewards. Round-
trip and one-way Rewards upgrades on SriLankan Airlines can also be redeemed
through www.srilankan.aero as and when such facility may become available.
Travel agents cannot issue Reward tickets or any of the Rewards.

3. Members will only be eligible for Reward tickets if they clearly indicate at the
time of reservation that they are redeeming Miles for the flight desired.

4. Miles must be valid when a Reward ticket is issued. For this reason, Members
should ensure that ticketing takes place before expiry of Miles, if applicable.
Members must ensure that they have sufficient Miles in their accounts before a
Reward ticket is issued.

5. A child nominee requires the same number of Miles for redemption for a
Reward.

6. An infant nominee requires the same ten per cent (10%) of Miles for redemption
for a Reward.

7. Members shall report any suspected unauthorised Reward claims from their
Accounts within three months of such unauthorised transaction activity for any
corrective action to be possible. Any later complaint will not be entertained by
FlySmiLes.

8. Travel on Reward tickets is subject to capacity controls of SriLankan Airliness.


This means that SriLankan Airlines may limit the number of seats available for
Reward tickets on particular flights. Seats for Reward Tickets may not be
available on all flights or in all classes. However, there will be no blackout dates.

9. Service Partners may impose blackout periods when Reward redemption is not
permitted by such Service Partners.
10. When a Member selects services and/goods from a Service Partner the contract
for such services and/or goods is between the Member and Service Partner.
Accordingly the terms and conditions of the Service Partner shall apply to
purchase of the goods and/or services selected by the Member. The Member
must read the terms and conditions and also check with the Service Partner prior
to selecting the goods and/or services. By accepting the Service Partner's offer,
the member is agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions of the purchase
imposed by the Service Partner, including payment of all amounts when due (if
any) and compliance with all rules and restrictions regarding booking,
availability, cancellation and refunds in respect of the services and/or goods. In
respect of any transaction above, the Member must directly communicate with
the Service Provider.

11. Reward tickets are subject to, and the passenger is responsible for, applicable
departure taxes; other airport or government handling fees; and any fuel or
other surcharges imposed by SriLankan Airlines, or any other participating
Carriers. Payment for such taxes, fees or charges will be in USD or the local
currency equivalent and must be payable by the Member (or passenger as the
case may be) at the time of ticketing.

12. Members can only use Miles to redeem Rewards. Reward redemption cannot be
combined with any other means of payment, except where (a) a top-up is
performed by buying Miles; or (b) facility is made available by SriLankan Airlines
for its customers on its Internet Booking Engine at www.srilankan.aero to pay for
tickets by using a combination of cash and Miles.

13. A Reward ticket may be re-issued, but only for travel by the same person and
provided no part of the Reward ticket has been utilised and on the condition that
Miles used for the Reward Ticket would not have expired if the Reward ticket
was not issued. Additional Miles may be charged for such transaction. If the new
journey requires fewer Miles, the excess Miles will be refunded. The Reward
ticket at the point of reissue must still be valid. There will be a reissue fee for
each ticket, if the number of Miles required for such subsequent Reward ticket is
not equal to the previous Reward ticket. The reissued ticket must have the same
expiry date as the original ticket and it must be for the same airline. However, if
the date of the first flight on the reissued ticket is earlier than that of the original
ticket, then the expiry date of the reissued ticket will be readjusted to the earlier
date accordingly.

14. sPassengers travelling on Reward tickets with a confirmed reservation on all


sand fail to show up for the flight will be considered a ‘no-show’. A ‘no-show’ fee
may be charged as applicable.
15. Miles of completely unused Reward tickets may be re-deposited for a fee of USD
50/- provided that the ticket is valid at the time of re-depositing and on the
condition that Miles used for the Reward Ticket would not have expired if the
Reward ticket was not issued.

16. In the event of a flight disruption, passengers travelling on Reward tickets will be
re-routed as per the rules applicable for fare-paying passengers.

17. A passenger's use of a Reward ticket is subject to the terms and conditions set by
both the issuing airline and the airline providing the carriage, if different carriers
are involved.

18. All carriage on and all tickets issued on behalf of an airline are subject to the
normal rules outlined in each airline's Conditions of Carriage, copies of which
may be obtained directly from the airline. Reward tickets are issued on the basis
that all passengers travelling on Reward Tickets must have appropriate visas,
travel documents and inoculations (if any) as required for travel by any country
of transit or visit.

19. Tickets for all Reward travel will only be issued for a confirmed reservation on all
sectors. Open-dated tickets and request tickets (RQ) are not allowed.

20. All Reward tickets are valid for twelve months from the date of issue. Reward
tickets cannot be extended.

21. Upgrade Rewards are subject to the rules of purchased tickets. For upgrade
Reward redemption, a copy of the purchased commercial ticket or passenger
receipt or e-ticket number is required for verification and reissue. Industry
discount, agency discount, free or Reward tickets cannot be used for upgrade
Rewards redemption.

22. Confirmed bookings must be ticketed within the Ticketing Time Limit. Waitlisted
bookings which become confirmed must be ticketed prior to the Ticketing Time
Limit or the entire itinerary will be cancelled. SriLankan Airlines will not be held
liable for cancellation of a booking that is not ticketed prior to the Ticketing Time
Limit. No wait listing is permitted.

23. Reward calculation rules are as follows:

(a) FlySmiLes reserves the right to modify, decrease or increase the amount
of Miles required for a Reward Ticket for any sector. Similarly any Service
Partner may modify, decrease or increase the amount of Miles required for a
particular redemption.
(b) Travel must be via a published route. Reservations which are out of
sequence, are not permitted except as required by route restrictions.

(c) Reward tickets on SriLankan Airlines and all other Rewards Partner airlines
must be ticketed separately.

(d) A Member is allowed to make one origin, open ended single open-jaw, on
SriLankan Airlines only.

(e) When a Member claims a Reward in a class of service that is available on


only certain sectors of a trip, a lower class of service may be substituted by
SriLankan Airlines for the other sectors of the trip. The Reward redemption
level for the entire trip may be determined according to the actual classes of
service flown or the highest class of service flown.

(f) If a Member wishes to claim a Reward for an itinerary that is not available
on the Member’s Guide, then the Member may opt to combine two or more
redemptions to do so, but such redemption will be at the discretion of
FlySmiLes.

24. Members who have insufficient Miles of the total Miles needed to redeem a
Reward ticket may purchase up to a maximum of 25,000 Miles needed to
redeem a Reward ticket, per calendar year. Purchased Miles must be redeemed
immediately on purchase. Miles can only be purchased and used against the
redemption of Reward tickets and Reward upgrade issued on SriLankan Airlines
(and other Service Partner airlines if specified). Miles can be purchased only by
contacting FlySmiLes Service Centres and SriLankan Airlines Offices.

25. Miles, if purchased shall be of a minimum purchase of 2,000 Miles. The price per
1,000 Miles is USD twenty five (USD 25/-) or the local currency equivalent.
Purchased Miles are non-refundable. In the case where Miles from a completely
unused Reward ticket are re-deposited into a Members account, any purchased
Miles will not be refunded and will be credited to the Member’s account. The
maximum amount of Miles that a Member can purchase pursuant to this clause,
in any one calendar year, is 25,000 Miles.

26. Additional Terms and Conditions for Reward upgrades are as follows:

(a) Upgrades are available to the next higher class of service only, on the “same
day – same flight” basis and confirmed reservation on lower class.
(b) SriLankan Airlines may limit Reward upgrades to certain booking classes. In
an itinerary with multiple sectors, only the sectors booked under these classes
are eligible for upgrade Reward redemption.

(c) All tables for Reward upgrades are based on one-way trips. Round-trip
Reward upgrades require double the miles of a one-way upgrade.

(d) Reward upgrades are available only on SriLankan Airlines and for airline
Tickets issued on IATA Airline Code 603 only.

26. If and when SriLankan Airlines enables online redemption bookings for Reward
Tickets and Reward Upgrades, then:

(a) Members who redeem for Reward tickets online will save 15% off the usual
miles required to any SriLankan Airlines destination with e-ticketing facilities.
Members will also receive this discount for online redemption for upgrades on
SriLankan Airlines flights booked commercially online. If any change is made to
the booking through FlySmiLes Service Centre, or SriLankan Airlines offices will
render the member's booking ineligible for the discount.

(b) Only upgrades, round-trip Rewards and one-way Rewards are available for
online redemption.

(c) Members can only redeem upgrades or Reward tickets to destinations that
offer electronic ticketing.

(d) Members can only make bookings for themselves or their redemption
nominees. Passport numbers may be required.

(e) Airport taxes / charges must be paid for by credit card.

(f) Updates / changes to members' bookings will be sent via email. Members are
to ensure that their email addresses are valid before carrying out online
redemption bookings.

E. Family Bonus Member

1. A Member of FlySmiLes (“Head Member”) is able to nominate up to eight family


members (“Family Member”) in to the Family Bonus Programme. A Family
Member does not have to be accompanied by the Head Member in order to
accumulate Miles. The Head Member can cancel or stop participation of any
Family Member by written notice to FlySmiLes.
2. The only eligible Family Members are: fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, grand-
parents, parents-in-law and step-parents. On request of SriLankan Airlines, the
Head Member must provide proof of relationship.

3. A Family Member will be given a membership number which will be used for
tracking purposes. A Family Member does not earn any miles on the Family
Member’s account nor receive any benefits of FlySmiLes.

4. There are no tiers or Membership Categories in the FlySmiLes Family Bonus


Programme. A Family Member cannot earn Miles during promotional tickets.

5. A Family Bonus Member must be over two years of age and may only be
registered in respect of one Family Head's Account.

6. A Family Bonus Member may only earn and contribute Twenty per cent of total
Miles on SriLankan flights after his/her Family Bonus programme enrolment to
the family Head Member’s account, and will be credited to the Head Member's
Account.

7. Use of the Family Bonus Programme will be deemed to indicate acceptance of


the Programme Rules. The Family Head's signature binds each Family Bonus
Member to FlySmiLes Terms and Conditions.

F. Baggage Bonus Programme

1. A FlySmiles Member may be granted a ‘''Baggage Plus or “Baggage Premium''


Membership Category upon acceptance of the Baggage Bonus application by
FlySmiLes and depending on the number of qualifying flights flown and/or Miles
earned in a calendar year by such Member. Such a Member is required to take
the number of qualifying flights or earn qualifying number of Miles within a
calendar year to sustain his Membership in each of ‘''Baggage Plus or “Baggage
Premium'' Membership Category, as stated in the Member’s Guide.

2. The number of Miles required for each Membership Category and the benefits
and privileges provided to a Member at each Membership Category may be
changed by FlySmiLes at any time without notice.

3. FlySmiLes reserves its right to establish, upgrade or downgrade a Member's


Membership Category at its sole discretion. Only Miles accumulated in each
calendar year are considered in granting a particular Membership Category and
are not carried forward to the following calendar year.
4. If a Member ceases to take the number of qualifying flights or earn qualifying
number of Miles within a calendar year as applicable to each Membership
Category, then the Membership Card issued for the Member in the relevant
Membership Category, maybe cancelled or recalled at the discretion of
FlySmiLes Programme or SriLankan Airlines.

5. A members must return the FlySmiLes Silver or Gold membership card and
luggage tags to the FlySmiLes service centre, Colombo, in exchange for the
FlySmiLes Baggage Bonus card and membership pack.

6. A Member who decides to join the FlySmiLes Baggage Bonus Programme shall
forthwith relinquish the certain benefits (as indicated in the Member’s Guide)
and the right to join or continue in the FlySmiLes Silver or Gold tiers.

7. Additional Terms and Conditions for redemption of Miles for Excess Baggage, are
as follows:

(a) Redemption of Miles for Excess Baggage shall be permitted by way of


issuance of a Miscellaneous Charges Orders (MCO).

(b) Colombo must be included in the itinerary, either as an origin, destination or


transit point.

(c) Only SriLankan Airlines’ ticket offices in Sri Lanka, South India and Pakistan
will issue MCOs.

(d) MCOs can also be obtained from the Katunayaka Airport ticket office in Sri
Lanka, during certain working hours as specified in the Member’s Guide.

(e) Only a Maximum number of 50,000 Miles can be redeemed on a single MCO.

(f) MCOs have to be obtained at least 24 hours prior to a flight.

(g) MCOs are valid for one year from the date of issue and will have to be
redeemed in multiples of 10kgs.

(h) 25kgs free baggage allowance for Baggage Bonus plus and 35kgs free for
Premium Members will be applicable over and above the baggage allowance
practiced on the routes operated by SriLankan Airlines.

(i) Rewards may be transferred to nominees by signing the Nomination Form.

(j) The MCOs can only be utilized on SriLankan on the routes specified.
(k) An MCO, which has been lost stolen or destroyed, may be replaced if the
Member signs an appropriate indemnity form, pays the applicable service fee
and it can be established that the MCO was not fully utilized prior to its loss,
theft or destruction.

(l) The FlySmiLes Baggage Bonus card should be presented at the check in
counter in order to claim 25kgs/35kgs free baggage allowance.

(m) MCOs that are entirely unutilized may be re-credited to member accounts
subject to payment of US$50 as service fee.

G. FlySmiLes Junior Programme

1. Application for membership, of FlySmiLes Junior, is open to any individual


between two (02) and sixteen (16) years of age (inclusive).

2. An applicant for membership must supply all of the information required in the
FlySmiLes Junior membership application form and submit it to FlySmiLes.

3. Consent by a parent or legal guardian is mandatory. From time to time,


FlySmiLes may request the Member to provide reasonable proof of guardianship
or relationship of the parent or Guardian, failing which the account shall be
deleted.

4. To the extent permitted by Law, FlySmiLes is not bound to verify the signatures
of the parent(s) or guardian. FlySmiLes will also not be bound to verify whether
the parent(s) or guardian has legal authority to grant such consent. If the Law
requires such verification, FlySmiLes shall be entitled to delete the Membership
Account.

5. The parent or guardian of a FlySmiLes Junior Member may consent to the


collection and use of the member information by FlySmiLes without consenting
to the disclosure of that member information to any third party.

6. A Member's parent or guardian may at any time review the member


information, request its deletion or refuse to allow any further collection or use
of that child's member information at no charge.

7. A Member's parent or guardian will be required to give new written consent


whenever there is a material change in the manner in which member
information or data is collected, used or disclosed.
8. In an event there is a disparity between the instructions given by the FlySmiLes
Junior Member and the instructions given by the Parent or Guardian, then
FlySmiLes may in its absolute discretion either:

(a) suspend the Membership Account; or


(b) cancel the Membership Account; or
(c) heed instructions given by the Parent or Guardian.

9. When a Member attains age of eighteen (18), then FlySmiLes shall be entitled to
convert his or her Membership to comparable regular Membership of the FlySmiLes
Programme, from which point no consent from the Parent or Guardian may be required.

H. Data Protection and Privacy

1. For the proper operation and functionality of FlySmiLes, a Member is required to


disclose Personal information relating to the Member or the Member’s
nominees in the Family Bonus Programme. When a Member discloses
information relating to Nominees, the Member warrants that the Member has
authority to do so.

2. All such Member information provided will be held by FlySmiLes includes the
information which a Member or a Service Partner provides to FlySmiLes, such as
names; addresses; contact numbers; date of birth; and transaction details, flight
and meal preferences, including Miles accrual and Reward transactions relating
to FlySmiLes:

(a) may be used to develop new services;

(b) may be used for accounting and audit purposes (including fraud auditing);

(c) may be used for credit checking and credit scoring;

(d) may be used for marketing and market research purposes;

(e) will be transferred to countries that may not have data protection laws; and

(f) may otherwise be used in a manner which a Member may authorise from
time to time.

3. All such Member information provided will be held by FlySmiLes:

(a) will be retained and used by FlySmiLes, Affiliates and data processors to
ensure the efficient running of the Programme, including the crediting of Miles,
the provision of membership statements and the awarding of membership
levels;

(b) may be disclosed as required by law, including disclosures to the police,


immigration and customs authorities in any country;

(c) may be used by FlySmiLes to send you communications about promotions,


services, products and facilities offered by FlySmiLes;

(d) may be disclosed to a Service Partner to assist that Service Partner in the
planning and development of FlySmiLes;

(e) may be used by a Service Partner to send you separate communications


about services, products and facilities offered by that a Service Partner (unless
the Member indicates otherwise); and

4. The consent given by a Member will continue in effect unless and until the
Member withdraws the consent by notice in writing to a FlySmiLes Service
Centre. Withdrawal of consent is effective only upon such request is received by
the FlySmiLes Service Centre, and may mean that certain services may no longer
be provided to the Member, and shall also entitle FlySmiLes to terminate
Membership immediately.

5. A Member may obtain a copy of his or her Member information upon making a
written request to FlySmiLes to provide such Member information. The Member
may request FlySmiLes to correct or delete any item of the Member information
which is not accurate, complete or up-to-date at no charge to the Member.

6. The FlySmiLes Web site www.flysmiles.com and SriLankan Airlines Web site
www.srilankan.aero may use “cookies” to identify and facilitate a Member’s next
visit to the respective Web sites. A member may choose to set notification
standards on his Web browser, and thereby retain the option of choosing to
accept or reject such cookies. However rejecting such cookies may cause the
Member the inability to retain some functionality of the Web sites.

I. Liability and Warranty Provisions

1. SAVE AS MAY NOT BE EXCLUDED BY LAW, NO WARRANTY (WHETHER EXPRESS


OR IMPLIED) WHATSOEVER IS GIVEN IN RESPECT OF REWARDS PROVIDED
UNDER FLYSMILES. IN PARTICULAR, NO WARRANTY IS GIVEN WITH RESPECT TO
THE QUALITY OF REWARDS OR THEIR SUITABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY
PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
2. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FLYSMILES ACCEPTS NO LIABILITY
WHATSOEVER IN RESPECT OF REWARDS SUPPLIED BY SERVICE PARTNERS IN
CONNECTION WITH A SERVICE PARTNER'S REFUSAL TO SUPPLY A REWARD TO
THE MEMBER. The rights, if any, which a Member may have in connection with a
Reward are solely against the Service Partner supplying that Reward. Subject to
this clause, all Rewards supplied to a Member will be subject exclusively to the
terms and conditions of Service Partners supplying the Reward.

3. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW AND SUBJECT TO THESE


PROGRAMME RULES, THE LIABILITY OF FLYSMILES AND SRILANKAN AIRLINES, OR
A SERVICE PARTNER IN RESPECT OF FLIGHTS, GOODS OR SERVICES WHICH ARE
THE SUBJECT OF A REWARD IS LIMITED TO ANY ONE OR MORE OF THE
FOLLOWING:(a) REPLACEMENT OF THE GOODS OR SUPPLY OF EQUIVALENT
GOODS; (b) THE REPAIR OF THE GOODS; (c) THE REPAYMENT OF THE COSTS IN
REPLACING THE GOODS OR OF ACQUIRING EQUIVALENT GOODS AND IN THE
CASE OF SERVICES OR FLIGHTS, HAVING THE SERVICE OR FLIGHT SUPPLIED
AGAIN, AT THE OPTION OF FLYSMILES, OR THE SERVICE PARTNER NOMINATED
TO SUPPLY THE FLIGHT, GOODS OR SERVICES AS THE CASE MAY BE.

4. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FLYSMILES ACCEPTS NO


LIABILITY IN RESPECT OF DEATH OR INJURY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR
DAMAGES ARISING FROM, OR IN CONNECTION WITH, THE SUPPLY OF A REWARD
(OTHER THAN THE USE OF A REWARD TICKET) OR FOR THE LOSS, THEFT OR
DESTRUCTION OF A REWARD. A Reward ticket which has been lost, stolen or
destroyed may be replaced or reissued if the Member promptly reports the
incident to the nearest SriLankan Airlines’ office, signs an appropriate indemnity
form at an SriLankan Airlines’ office, pays the applicable service fee (which is
currently set at US$ 50 per ticket) and can establish that the Reward ticket was
not used prior to its loss, theft or destruction. In respect of a Reward ticket,
neither FlySmiLes, SriLankan Airlines or a Service Partner (as the case may be)
accepts any liability other than as set out in the General Conditions of Carriage
and travel documents of the relevant airline (as may be amended and applicable
to the relevant airline, and the Conventions.

5. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER FLYSMILES NOR


SRILANKAN AIRLINES WILL BE LIABLE TO A MEMBER OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR
ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE, WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT, RESULTING FROM
TERMINATION OR CHANGE OF OR TO FLYSMILES OR ANY OF THE FACILITIES,
BENEFITS OR ARRANGEMENTS WHICH ARE MADE AVAILABLE TO A MEMBER,
INCLUDING SERVICE PARTNER WITHDRAWAL OR THE WITHDRAWAL OF ANY
BENEFITS, FACILITIES OR ARRANGEMENTS.
6. FlySmiLes reserves its right to, suspend or disqualify or terminate a Member
from further participation in the Programme, to cancel all previously
accumulated Miles and to seek compensation for Rewards utilised if, in the sole
judgment of FlySmiLes Programme,

(a) The Member has engaged in wilful misconduct or breached any of the rules
governing FlySmiLes, including but not limited to, fraudulent acquisition of Miles
or acquisition, sale or abuse of Miles or acquisition, sale or abuse of Reward
benefits;

(b) The Member has engaged in misuse or abuse of privileges FlySmiLes


Programme; and

(c) The Member has been abused staff of SriLankan Airlines or has been named
as a disruptive pax previously by any Airline.

7. From time to time, FlySmiLes may make offers relating to goods and services
which are by third party suppliers (each a "Supplier"). All Members who take
advantage of these goods and services will be entering into a legal relationship
with the Supplier and FlySmiLes makes no representation as to such goods and
services of a Supplier. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FlySmiLes
excludes all liability to any Member or other person of whatsoever nature in
respect of any negligence, wilful misconduct, poor service or other breach of
obligation arising out of the provision or failure to provide the services by or on
behalf of a Supplier arising out of that legal relationship with a Supplier.

J. General Provisions

1. These Terms and Conditions and Programme Guides may be changed, varied,
suspended or terminated at any time without notice where permitted by law,
save that reasonable efforts will be used to promptly post details of that change
or variation, suspension or termination (as the case may be) to the Web site of
FlySmiLes at www.flysmiles.com and www.srilankan.aero. In the event of any
conflict between this version of the Programme Rules and any version of the
Programme Terms and Conditions and Programme Guide published on the
above Web site, the latter shall prevail.

2. The Member's use of his or her membership card or quoting of his or her
membership number after any change or variation to the Programme Terms and
Conditions will be deemed to be acceptance by the Member to that change or
variation.
3. Any notice to be given to a Member under these Programme Terms and
Conditions will be deemed to have been given if posted by pre-paid post to the
Member at the address provided by the Member for the purposes of FlySmiLes.
If only an electronic mail address has been provided, then any notice to be given
to a Member these Programme Terms and Conditions will be deemed to have
been given, when an electronic mail is sent by FlySmiLes to the Member.

4. The Programme Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the
Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and any proceeding with respect to or
in connection with FlySmiLes must be brought in that jurisdiction.

5. Membership, including eligibility for Membership and any Miles or Rewards, is


subject to any applicable laws and regulations, including all applicable
resolutions of the International Air Transport Association (if any).

6. FlySmiLes will cease to operate in a jurisdiction in which it becomes prohibited


by any relevant law or governmental direction.

7. Reasonable care has been taken to ensure that information contained in the
Programme Terms and Conditions, Programme Guide and in any publications
and advertisements in connection with FlySmiLes is accurate, but neither
FlySmiLes nor SriLankan Airlines accepts any liability with respect to any errors or
omissions in any information, whether written or verbal.

8. Any part of these Programme Terms and Conditions which is or becomes


unenforceable for any reason shall be considered capable of being cut out so as
not to affect the remainder of these Programme Rules in any way. Neither
FlySmiLes Programme nor SriLankan Airlines shall be required to provide any
service or otherwise act in pursuance of these Programme Rules if to do so
would be contrary to law.

9. Members may be required to provide documentation at check-in that can


establish the Member's identity and membership to FlySmiLes. If a Member fails
to comply with this requirement, FlySmiLes reserves the right to refuse carriage.

∑ .Any FlySmiLes member who does not have 25,000 tier miles will remain in the
FlySmiLes tier till he/she earns the required mileage for FlySmiLes Baggage Bonus
membership.

Miles for excess baggage.

K. Definitions

1. In these Programme Terms and Conditions the following words shall have the
meaning set forth against them:
Account Means the account to which the Miles of a Member will be earned or
deducted;

Family Bonus Member Means a person as defined in Section E of the Terms and
Conditions;

Member Means a person who has applied for membership of FlySmiLes and has been
issued a membership number in this respect;

Membership Means the status of a Member in FlySmiLes;

Membership Category Means a membership level in FlySmiLes;

Miles Means units of measurement, earned by a Member under FlySmiLes based on the
consumption of qualifying goods and services;

Reward Means specified goods or services to be provided by FlySmiLes or a Service


Partner to a Member in exchange for Miles;

Service Partner Means a provider of goods or services which is participating in FlySmiLes


from time to time, and may include airlines, hotels and resorts, financial, leisure &
lifestyle service providers and car hire companies;

FlySmiLes / FlySmiLes Programme Means, as the context requires, the frequent flyer /
loyalty programme owned and operated by SriLankan Airlines and shall include
SriLankan Airlines where the context so requires. FlySmiLes is a trademark or registered
trademark of SriLankan Airlines;

FlySmiLes Service Centre Means the service centres for Members established by
SriLankan Airlines in Colombo, and other locations fro time to time and having the
contact details as published by FlySmiLes;

SriLankan Airlines Means SriLankan Airlines Limited, a company (limited in liability)


incorporated and existing under the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri
Lanka;

Conventions

Means the Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules Relating to International
Carriage by Air, signed at Warsaw, 12 October 1929 (hereinafter referred to as the
Warsaw Convention); the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague on 28
September 1955; the Warsaw Convention as amended by Additional Protocol No. 1 of
Montreal (1975); the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague and by Additional
Protocol No. 2 of Montreal (1975); the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague
and by Additional Protocol No. 4 of Montreal (1975); the Guadalajara supplementary
Convention (1961); the Montreal Convention (1999)

2. In these Programme Terms and Conditions unless a contrary intention appears:

(a) a reference to the singular includes a reference to the plural, and vice versa;
(b) a reference to a gender includes a reference to the opposite gender;
(c) a reference to a party includes a reference to its authorized employees; and
(d) headings are inserted for the purpose of convenient reference only.
