2) Install the two .msi files from the "Files" folder that goes with your comput er. For a 64-Bit computer, please select 64-Bit Files. For a 32-Bit computer, pl ease select 32-Bit Files. 3) Drag the file I named update.zip onto your desktop. (Make sure it is not upda te.zip.zip) 4) Drag the file I named MC1_A855......... onto your desktop 5) Plug in your phone to your computer. Make sure you select allow on the popup that will apear on your phone 6) Go into My Computer under Windows Explorer and look for Removable Disk. Click on it and drag the file on your desktop that is named update.zip into the Remov able Disk. DO NOT PUT IT IN ANY FOLDERS! 7) Open RSD Lite and click the three dots next to the blank space. Go to desktop and you'll see the MC1_A855.........sbf. Double click on it and you should see words under "File Properties" 8) Shut off your droid while its still plugged into the laptop 9) When its completely off, slide open the keyboard and hold down up on the D-Pa d and power at the same time for about 5 seconds. Then you can release. It shoul d now have a bunch of words on your droids screen and it should show your device in port 1 of RSD Lite. 10) Click on start from RSD Lite. When your droids screen turns completely black and it says your phone is rebooting in RSD, you have to hold down up on the D-P ad. This is called "catching the boot" 11) If you did this correctly, you should see PASS under the first port of RSD, and your phone should say Bootloader and then a bunch of other words in white 12) You are now done with the computer. 13) On your droid, hold down the power button until the bootloader stuff goes aw ay and your screen is black 14) Then slide open your keyboard and hold down X+Power at the same time until y ou see the big M on your droid go away and you see the droid guy on your screen along with other words in red 15) Use the D-Pad and the button in the middle of the D-Pad/volume and camera ke ys to click on install 16) Then click allow installation of update.zip 17) Scroll down one and click install update.zip 18) It will take a little bit (maybe 5-10 seconds) to download. You will know th at it finished when it says, "Done. MotoCache1 says enjoy your root!" 19) Click on the delete/power button so you will see the main menu of SPRecovery . Then hit reboot phone now. 20) When your phones boots up, if you look at your apps, you will see Superuser Permissions. If you don't see the app, start the entire process over again. 21) If you like a Custom ROM, you can install the app ROM Manager. 22) It is recommended to back up your phone using Recovery Mode before you insta ll a ROM. 23) Finally, sit back and enjoy your root!
