Lateral Entry in Engineering & Pharmacy (LEEP-2010)

Guidelines for Direct Admission of Diploma/B.Sc. Holders
to II B.E./B.Tech/B. Pharma

As per the norms of AICTE, the candidates who have passed Diploma / B.Sc.(Maths) are
admitted directly to 2nd year of B.E/B.Tech under Lateral Entry. Similarly the candidates who
have passed D.Pharma are admitted directly to 2nd year of B.Pharma. The Government has
authorized Board of Technical Education, Rajasthan, Jodhpur to carry out such admissions
and subsequently the first allotment list has been declared by the Board on 01-11-2010. The
last date of reporting was 12-11-2010. Now still there are some seats lying vacant in the
institutions. Therefore the Government has allowed to carry out direct admission at institution
level for these vacant seats. The last date for such admission will be 22-11-2010. The
institutes will follow the following guidelines.

1. The status of seats lying vacant after reporting of the candidates in first allotment will
be conveyed to LEEP-2010 office immediately so that the same can be uploaded on the
official web sites of Board.
2. The admissions will be allowed only on the vacant seats intimated to the LEEP-2010
office.
3. Eligibility Criteria: The candidate should have passed Diploma with minimum of 50%
marks (45% for SC/ST candidates of Rajasthan) or the candidate should have Degree in
Science (B.Sc.) with mathematics as a subject with minimum of 60% marks (55% for
SC/ST candidates of Rajasthan). The marks obtained to award the division in
Diploma/Degree will be considered for deciding the eligibility and respective merit.
Admission to the candidates will be given as per the following order of preference: -
1. Candidates having passed Diploma from Board of Technical Education, Rajasthan,
Jodhpur / Universities in Rajasthan.
2. Bona-fide residents of Rajasthan (on submission of Certificate from competent
authorities) having either passed diploma from institutions located in Rajasthan
and considered equivalent by Board of Technical Education Rajasthan, Jodhpur or
from Board of Technical Education in other States.
3. Candidates not covered in (2) above having passed Diploma from other State
Boards of Technical Education.
4. Candidates having passed B.Sc.(with Mathematics) from Universities in Rajasthan.
Note :
• Diploma courses conducted by institutions approved by AICTE, will only be eligible
for Lateral entry and names of such institutions must be available on the web
sites of AICTE.
• If Diploma awarded under MECS scheme of Board of Technical Education
Rajasthan, Jodhpur, then only the aggregate CPI (used to award division) will be
considered for eligibility.
Separate merit lists will be prepared for order of preference No. 1, 2, 3 and 4. First
allotment will be given to the candidates of merit list of order of preference No. 1
then to order 2, then to order 3 and then to order 4.
4. Admissions will be given strictly in order of merit.
5. Candidates will apply directly in the institutions in the prescribed Performa (available
on the web sites http://techedu.rajasthan.gov.in along with following essential
documents
• Attested photocopy of 10th and / or 10+2 marks sheet.
• Attested photocopy of Diploma/B. Sc. marks sheets (I, II, and III year).
• Attested photocopy of Bona-fide residence of Rajasthan (In case of candidates having
passed Diploma from other States & belong to Rajasthan state).
• Attested photocopy of Provisional /Original Diploma Certificate.
 • Attested photocopy of Certificate(s) in case of reserved category candidates from
competent authorities.

6. The branches are clubbed as per table given below. Candidates can opt engineering
branch according to their eligibility group:

& Maths subjects.
Candidates who have passed Degree in Science (B.Sc.) with mathematics as a subject can
opt for any discipline of engineering but they will not be eligible for B. Pharma. Course.

7. Last date for such admission is 22.11.2010.

8. The Institutions will observe total transparency during the entire admission process.
9. It is the responsibility of the institute to check eligibility of a candidate as per the guidelines issued
by the LEEP-2010 prior to giving admission.
10. LEEP-2010 will not be responsible for the case when the candidature of the candidate is rejected
due to ineligibility / any lack of documents / other reason by the respective universities during
enrolment process.
11. The institution will send all the application form along with all essential documents to the LEEP-
2010 office by person during 24-11-2010 and 25-11-2010. Processing fees for such admission is
Rs. 1000/- per candidate. A consolidated DD in favour of Coordinator LEEP-2010 payable at
Jodhpur, worth Rs. 1000/- multiplied by number of candidates is to be sent along with these
forms. No forms will be accepted after the above said period.
12. The verification of all admission carried out directly at institution level will be done by LEEP-
2010 office during the scheduled period.
13. After verification, the provisional list of all the eligible candidates will be forwarded to the
respective Universities for enrollment. The names of the ineligible candidates will not be
forwarded in any case.
