What is Black magic & White magic?

 Black magic:-

Black magic or dark magic is a form of sorcery that draws on assumed

malevolent powers. This type of magic would be invoked to kill, to steal, to injure,
to cause misfortune or destruction, or for personal gain without regard to harmful
consequences to others. As a term, "black magic" is normally used to describe a
form of rituals that some group or person does not approve of. Not everything
that is called black magic truly has malevolent intentions behind it, and some also
consider it to have beneficial and benevolent uses, such as killing off diseases or
pests (or rather, the effect itself is malevolent by causing death to insects, but as
an indirect consequence of black magic, good sometimes results, in the form of
less pests around, etc).

White Magic:-
Depending upon how loose the denomination's philosophy is concerning magic,
certain things may be allowed (even in Christianity, which often shuns any use of
magic). This list is largely based on the "Separate but Equal" Philosophy listed
above, rather than the "No Connection", as there are branches of any type of
magic that may be better or worse than others, not to mention there is the intent
of the user to consider.

This list is based upon the stances of churches and temples of various faiths
concerning practices of white magic:

• Sutra(Spoken or written word is little different from prayer, although intent

is important)
• Mudra (Religion typically allows mudras, or hand signs. For instance,
the sign of the cross)

• Protection (Represents a desire to protect loved ones, so this is generally

good. It can however, also be used in binding and sealing others.)

• Weather Magic (prayers or the like for rain or sun are done, even by the
Church)

• Healing/Exorcism (The art of healing is seen as a miracle, and is done by

the origin of Christianity, Jesus. Exorcism is allowed for the same reason,
though exorcism rites are uncommon)

• Divination/Dowsing (Aside from the branch of divination known as

necromancy, divination is regarded more as a spiritual gift than a form of
magic)

• Alchemy (Potion making is part of healing above, although intent is once

again an issue)

• Blessing People/Objects (This is a grey area, due to the laws on graving

images, but even certain priests have staffs related to their office.
Generally, it is considered acceptable)
Types of Black Magic

Another form of "Black Magic" is necromancy, in which the spirits of the dead are
called upon for consultation. This is what happens in a gathering, where a
medium goes into a trance,
Summoning and allowing spirits to temporarily inhabit her or his body and speak
through his or her mouth. This is most often done at the request of a living
relative who may wish to question the departed soul regarding some important
matter, or even just seek reassurance that they are happy in the Afterlife.

Due to the laws of Christianity and other religions, there are certain taboos
surrounding forms of magic. Although culture may place certain forms of magic in
one side or another of this spectrum, there are in fact some cultural universals
about conduct:

1. Love spells (Although love is seen as a cultural good, compelling one to

love another against their will is an enchantment, and is typically seen as
mind control. The only acceptable love spell is one that attracts good
fortune in love, without tampering with free will)

2. True name spells (The theory is, that knowing a person's true name
allows control over the other, making this wrong for the same reason. This
can also be used as a connection to the other person, or to free them from
another's compulsion, so it is in the grey area)

3. Voodoo (This is associated with the law of contagion in magic. Although

the Law of Contagion can also be used for benevolent uses, such as
finding missing persons, the act of voodoo or causing harm using this
connection is inherently evil)
4. Immortality rituals (From a Taoist perspective, life is finite, and wishing
to live beyond one's natural span is not with the flow of nature. Beyond
this, there is a major issue with immortality. Because of the need to test
the results, the subjects must be killed. Even a spell to extend life may not
be entirely good, especially if it draws life energy from another to sustain
the spell.)

5. Necromancy (For purposes of usage, this is defined not as general black

magic, but as any magic having to do with death itself, either through
divination of entrails, or the act of raising the dead bodily, as opposed
to resurrection or CPR)

6. Curses/Hexes (This is the spoken equivalent of voodoo, and is essentially

a prayer gone badly. It can be as simple as wishing something bad would
happen to another, to a complex ritual. The difference between this and
voodoo, is that it does not involve the law of contagion, but instead
involves spoken or written words, and possible the true name of the
target)
Black Magic Occurrence

Black magic is very common in following areas of world :-

 Egypt

In ancient times, Egypt was known as the magic capital of the world and its
magical powers are recorded in the Torah. The Egyptian magicians seemed
to be able to turn water into blood and make frogs appear from nowhere.

But mainly they used magic to defend their country.

 Africa

In much of sub-Saharan Africa, it has long been common for soccer teams to
turn to witchcraft, or juju, to gain a competitive edge. Teams might, for
example, summon witch doctors to cast spells on opposing teams.

One well-known technique involves smearing the blood of a pig in the

opponents' locker room to scare younger players. A more extreme practice
requires that a cow should be buried alive on the field in front of the
opponents' goal.
 India & Pakistan ( Subcontinent )

Witchcraft is still widely believed in and 'practiced' in many backward parts of

India. Jharkand in Ranchi has been dubbed 'the witch-killing hub of India' by
journalists where women suspected of witchcraft are attacked and seldom killed.

Despite of the fact that an over-whelming majority of Pakistanis are

Muslims and in Islam the black magic is strictly prohibited, many people
especially ladies opt towards such activities. Out of sheer hate, jealousy, revenge
and greed these ladies go to the amils and such pirs who claim to have mastery
over this evil act.
Pakistani cities, towns and villages are littered with such amils who claim to be
the expert in breaking the black magic and relieving the people. Though nobody
publicly claims to also facilitate in casting the magic over the people, they also
indulge in such activities.
It’s a common occurrence in Pakistan for ladies to attribute every bad happening
to the imaginary black magic cast by some jealousy relative or enemy. Ladies
also indulged in going to amils to cast black magic at their mother-in-laws, or
sister-in-laws or to the wives of their sons or brothers and so on.

When a girl remains unmarried for a long time, her mother believes that the
marriage of her daughter is being held by the black magic by some evil relative.
When the job of her husband terminates, they also attribute it to the black magic
and so on.

To cast the black magic or to get it broken, ladies go to the amils, who often
extract lots of money and other things from them and more often than not, these
amils also sexually abuse these ladies. In newspapers stories appear on daily
basis about some amil raping the girl as he held the girl over the weekend to
break the black magic. Even the educated families are indulged in such activities.
MAGICAL SYMBOLS & CIRCLES
Difference between Black and White Magic

The opposite of black magic is white magic. The differences between black
magic and white magic are debatable, but theories generally fall within the
following broad categories:

 All as One: All forms of magic are evil, or black magic. This view
generally associates black magic with Satanism. The persons that maintain
this opinion include those belonging to most branches of Christianity, Islam
and Hinduism. Some people on the left-hand path would agree that all magic,
whether called "white" or "black", is the same. These people would not
contend that all magic is evil so much as that morality is in the eyes of the
beholder -- that any magic can have both good and bad consequences
depending on who judges those consequences. In this school of thought,
there is no separation between benevolent and malevolent magic because
there is no universal morality against which magic can be measured.

 Dark Doctrine: Black magic refers to the powers of darkness, usually

seen from a Left-Hand Path point of view. This may or may not contrast with
white magic, depending on the sorcerer's acceptance of dualism.

 Formal Differences: The forms and components of black magic are not
the same due to the different aims or interests of those casting harmful spells
than those of white. Harmful spell casting tends to include symbolism which
seems hazardous or harmful to human beings, such as sharp, pointed,
prickly, caustic, and hot element(s) combined with very personal objects from
the spell's target (their hair, blood, mementos, etc.). This distinction is
primarily observable in folk magic, but pertains to other types of magic also.
 No Connection: Both black and white magic are forms of sorcery, but are
completely different from the base up and are accomplished uniquely, even if
they achieve similar effects. This stance is often presented in fiction. In such
books, the two classes of magic-users are portrayed as being both
ideologically and diametrically opposed. In The Lord of the Rings the elves
find it strange that Humans and Hobbits can even use a single word, "magic",
which refers to both - since the Elvis tongues regard them also linguistically
as completely separate and unrelated.

 Separate but Equal: Black and white magic are exactly the same thing,
differentiated only by their end goals and intent. According to this theory, the
same spell could be either white or black; its nature is determined by the end
result of the spell. The majority of religions follow this belief, as does the
remainder of fiction that does not follow the No Connection theory. By this
interpretation, even such spells commonly seen as good can be misused, so
healing could be used to regenerate the body to the point of cancer, for
instance.
Working Tools Of Black Magic

Earth:-

It is usually represented by a pentacle - (a disk with magical symbols). We

display pentacles of wood, brass and stone. A dish of salt or earth can also be
used to represent the element of Earth.

Fire:-
A candle or lantern on the altar will represent this element. It is also good to have
a log fire when circumstances permit

Water:-

A chalice, bowl or cauldron of fresh water represents this element.

Athame:- (The black handled knife)

It is used for directing magical power. A white handled knife is used for
cutting magical herbs etc. These knives are often inscribed with appropriate
magical symbols.

Cauldron:-

The cauldron is a symbol of the Goddess, creation and female energy, as is the
chalice. Water for use in ritual is often collected from a sacred well or special
place.

Wands:-

It is combination of woods of various trees having different magical qualities.

Wands are generally used for directing the flow of energy.

Conclusion

Islam Is Against Black Magic And Sorcery

There are certain things forbidden by Allah Ta’ala and are explicitly explained in
the Quran. Among such forbidden acts is the act of black magic and sorcery. ‘Black
magic’ may include amulets, talismans, potions, charms, spells, exorcism, witchcraft,
oracles, palmistry, fortune telling etc. The forbidding of such things or acts in Islam is for
the betterment of mankind.
Black magic is an undeniable fact as it is mentioned on many occasions in the Holy
Quran and Sunnah. However, its practice is denounced in Islam and makes one’s prayer
unacceptable for forty days, and believing in what the magician or sorcerer says considers
one to be a disbeliever as well.

Islam forbids black magic (sihr) and many Quran verses and Hadith have strongly
condemned this as a sinful act. For instance Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) says:
“Whoever blows on knots practices magic, and whoever practices magic is a
mushrik (polytheist).” (At-Tabarani)

The word “sihr” has been mentioned almost 60 times in the Quran, explaining how the
non-believers attributed the miracles of Allah’s prophets with black magic. These verses
have been stated to clear that Allah’s messengers can never be like the worldly
magicians.
Black magic basically involves the worship of Satan and evil spirits to gain demonic
powers and harm the innocent people of Allah. Worshipping anything other than The
Allah is considered “kufr” in Islam and thus these magicians are practicing the art of
Infidelity (kufr) which is totally prohibited in Islam. The basic motive of black magic
practitioners is to harm and mislead others by delusion, which is again outside the
boundaries of Islam. One more thing observed in black magicians is that they start
believing the world is in their hands and they can do whatever they want, forgetting that
the supreme creator of the entire living and non living things is alone Allah. They even
exploit innocent people into believing the same. In order to prevent the human generation
from falling into the offence of “shirk”, Allah has forbidden black magic and sorcery.
Allah says in the Quran:
“And they followed what the Shaitans chanted of sorcery in the reign of
Sulaiman, and Sulaiman was not an unbeliever, but the Shaitans disbelieved, they taught
men sorcery and that was sent down to the two angels at Babel, Harut and Marut, yet
these two taught no man until they had said, “Surely we are only a trial, therefore do not
be a disbeliever.” Even then men learned from these two, magic by which they might
cause a separation between a man and his wife; and they cannot hurt with it anyone
except with Allah’s permission, and they learned what harmed them and did not profit
them, and certainly they know that he who bought it should have no share of good in the
hereafter and evil was the price for which they sold their souls, had they but known this.”
(Al-Baqarah: 102)

In order to relieve a person from the clutches of black magic, reciting certain Quran
verses can have a tremendous impact. Quran, the one Book among many, has been sent
as a cure and mercy for its followers and for those who seek this Holy book for healing
purposes. Recitation of Surah Al-Falak, Surah Al-Naas, and the above mentioned verses
of Surah Al-baqarah can be helpful in dispelling the effects of black magic.

Although no one has the power to harm or protect us except Allah, yet every Muslim
should empower them through practicing Islam, reading the Qur’an, offering Prayers and
following Allah’s commands. If you want to read Quran and learn the basic principles of
Islamic teachings, please visit our website for online Quran reading and learning
programs with free 3 days trial. Let Allah be your supreme protector (Amen).
Islamic Teachings To Prevent Black Magic

Prophet Mohammed P.B.U.H. said: (whoever recites the last two verses of the
chapter called the Cow, they will suffice him). This means that they will protect
him from every evil. Again seeking refuge in Allah and remembering his name is
an effective protection against all evils including magic. Two main supplications
are recommended in this respect. They are:

• I seek refuge in the complete words of Allah from the evils of what He
created;

• In the name of Allah through whose name nothing on earth or in heaven

can cause any harm.
