TOPIC: Standardization of Training module & developing a skill-matrix for quality checkers.

Back ground:
“Quality System” in a company is to get quality products specification of a customer. Maintaining
quality of the product in a company is a collective effort. It should be implemented from the initial stage
of product to the final stage of product.
An effective quality systems training program is necessary to ensure that personnel who plan,
implement, and assess quality programs have the skills needed to perform their responsibilities.
Quality systems training can
 Standardize quality systems policy throughout an organization.
 provide guidance on how to comply with quality system policies and requirements,
The depth of each employee’s knowledge and skills contributes to an agency’s ability to achieve its
mission and goals. To achieve the desired quality level checkers should have knowledge about the
quality, so it is needed to train the quality person. Objective of this project is to develop a module for
quality checker which can help the quality checkers to understand quality term, defects type, check
points, critical area of garment, AQL level, D/HU, SPC, tech pack, and inspect the garment in lesser
time.
Objectives:
 Developing a skill matrix for Quality checker
a. Developing a evaluation method for QC on basis of skill matrix
b. Developing a training module for QC
c. Create awareness about the quality amongst the checkers by giving training
Methodology:
• Exploratory Research
• Analysis of the existing training System of particular company
• Study about different check points in line, no. of defects occur, making defect report, different
measuring points and how to fill alteration card.
• Evaluation of QC on the basis of skill matrix.
• Identify areas in which QC need to training
• Selection of the most efficient training method to achieve the objective.
• Report writing and presentation
Findings and results:
• Developed a skill matrix for quality checker
• Developed an evaluation method for QC
• Identified the skill level of QC at different stage
• Developed a training module for QC
• Documentation of all quality procedure
• Increases acquaintance with the quality jargon and quality terms.
Conclusion:
The project helped in understanding the skill level of operators, develop a skill matrix to identify the
areas where they need training, develop a customized theoretical as well as practical training module for
them to help them understand the quality system better and hence improve the quality of the product.
The training module helped a novice Quality Checker to get acquainted with the Quality Control system
in shorter period.
