Assumptions: Students know expressing themselves.
Anticipated problems: Students may not want to talk about their ideas and be a
part of a ind of discussion.

Pre-speaking
Time: 3min.
Materials: videos
Interaction: T\Ss
What students do: The students answer the teacher’s questions. They talk
about their ideas for Eurovision song contest. They explain their opinions about
in which language our Eurovision song should be and why.
Grouping: Whole class
Aims:
- To create a good atmosphere for learning.
- To motivate the learners.
- To attract their attention to the topic.
- To get the students to participate in lesson by asking some questions and
brainstorming.
Steps
1. The teacher and the learners greet each other.
2. The teacher talks about she has read some articles about upcoming
Eurovision song contest and asks Ss ‘’ Have you listened to our Eurovision
song for this year? How do you feel upcoming Eurovision song contest? Did
you like it? Why?’’
3. She asks whether you realized or not but while you were explaining your
ideas you have used some phrases and here some other phrases we can use
while expressing and supporting our ideas and she shows a slide these
phrases written on it.

While-speaking
Time: 12min.
Materials: music, stage
Interaction: Ss\Ss
What students do: The students supporting the same idea about the topic will
be the member of the same group. They will get ready for the discussion for 1-2
min. they will explain and support their ideas by using some useful language
phrases.
Grouping: whole class as two discussion groups
Aims:
- To encourage learners to communicate with each other, listen to and
respect each other.
- To create a communicative atmosphere in the class.
- To have learners use the functional language with an enjoyable activity.
- To improve learners’ creativity, self-confidence, respect senses.
Steps
1. The teacher wants them state on which side they are.
2. The teacher wants them to come together with others supporting the
same idea with them.
3. The teacher checks the instruction.
4. The teacher gives them 1-2 min. to get ready.
5. After then, the teacher as a moderator wants learners to explain their
ideas by supporting them and listening to each other respectfully.
6. While the debate goes on, the teacher notes the mistakes they make
rather than interrupting because of the fact that this is a fluency activity.
7. After that, the teacher tries to come to a reasonable conclusion.
8. Then, the teacher corrects the mistakes by presenting some choices or
using the same pattern in her own sentences in order to have the ss hear the
correct version.

Materials: none

What students do: The students write their ideas about the topic after this
fruitful (I believe it will be) discussion and state if there is any change in their
opinions after it by supporting their thoughts.
Grouping: Individual students
Aims:
- To practice what the students have talked about.
- To write about their ideas in a well-designed paragraph.
Steps
1. The teacher wants the students to write their ideas about this topic after
the debate in a well-designed paragraph.
2. The students write their ideas at home.
