TATA BSC Up Gradation Plan

1. INTRODUCTION:-
ZTE is planning to implement new SW version in all the BSCs of ZTE
Circel(ROWB/BIHAR&JKD/ORISSA).This upgrade will bring some new features and
improve the KPI as :-
a) Provide LBS function.
b) Provide Intelligent shutdown function
c) Support new type of RRU: RSU60E
d) Improve KPI:GPRS&EDGE data throughput.
BSC will be upgraded accordingly towards iBSCV6.20.614c + P003.
For the compatible with BSC, minos and iTC will be upgraded also.

2 .MOP for MINOS from version 3.10.430dp002 to 3.10.450k:

4 .MOP for IBSC/IOMCR from version 6.20.200e to 6.614c

Backup two files under path: $OMCHOME\tmp\ftp\zdb\ibscXX. File
name is CfgTable.ZDB and DBVer.ZDB.
1.OMP ZDB backup
1) Fist Log in OMP with proper user name.
2) Enter into /IDE0/DATA1 catelog
3) Use bin command to convert into binary mode, then get same files
as shown above
 4) Exit with bye command
Backup two files under path: $OMCHOME\tmp\ftp\zdb\ibscXX. File
name is CfgTable.ZDB and DBVer.ZDB.

b) Export alarm list

For the comparison of upgrade effects, we will export alarm list as the
reference.

c) A/GB status review

 All status of interface A/GB include Flex A/Flex GB/IP A/IP GB will be
checked and noted for further comparison
d) Module status review
e) Feature status review
f) OMP BOOT parameter review
Use the command as shown below for version check.

g) ZXG10.CFG crosscheck for OMP

Remark: uid.gid must be the same as id group in gomcr group, IP

address should be the same as SBCX intranet address.

2. OMP upgrade
a) Remove standby OMP
b) Send ZDB to OMP
i. Remove FE link between SBCX and OMP
ii. Generate ZDB backup in client, and store in
$OMCHOME\tmp\ftp\zdb\ibscXX catelog（XX represents iBSC ID），
iii. SBCX link recover
Enter into /DOC0/DATA1 catelog
Delete DOC0\DATA1\DBVer.ZDB file
Enter into /IDE0/DATA1 catelog
Use lcd $OMCHOME\tmp\ftp\zdb\ibscXX，switch to ZDB locale catalog
Transfer CfgTable.ZDB and DBVer.ZDB file to OMP；
put　CfgTable.ZDB
put DBVer.ZDB
Confirmation the file
Exit
c) Upload zxg10.cfg file
Upload zxg10.cfg /DOC0/CFG catalog in OMP;
Attention: All OMP boards must be equipped with new version
d) Version import
Enter into version management, click“Upload version file to
OMC”，upload IBSC_MPX86_2_MP_P4_V6.20.011A_Z.BIN and
IBSC_MPX86_2_RPU_P4_V6.20.011A_Z.BIN to OMP,

e) OMP version application

Deploy CPU/FPGA version with right click on particular item, choose
“create OMP version ini file”.

f) Reset OMP to download SW

1. After reset OMP. Version will be activated until RUN2 is flashing.
2. Query OMP for CPU（CPU1）version information.

If OMP can not load new version, we will use COM cable to debug OMP.

g) ZDB synchronization
Database synchronization in OMP
 h) RPU upgrade
i. Enter into BSC general version frame and update RPU version.

1． RPU will be reset to activate version.

2． Query RPU version to confirm

3. Another boards upgrade（includes CMP）

a) Order for upgrade：

b) SW upgrade boards level
Enter into BSC general version frame, right click target version. Open update
dialog box to update the SW version.

For particular board as GLI which has more than one SW, reset only after the
final one.

c) Confirm SW version
For the security, all boards must be queried to confirm the proper version
has been activated.

1、open “BSC software version management”

2、click query to check：

d) Confirmation for individual board

Query for each board for confirmation.
3. Emergency Fallback Procedure:

OMP roll back

1) Enter into general version management, user backup MP/FPGA version

to create OMPcfg.ini file.

2) Replace OMP with backup one

3) Reboot peripheral board

4) Check SW version

5) Reinstall OMP

iBSC transfer data to iomcr

click “from NE synchronize data to OMC” as shown below:

Recover data damage with backup

If data is damaged be abnormal cause, OMP can not boot up. Use telnet to
connect OMP, use put command to recover OMP

1. Operation procedure:

Log in OMP

Delete DBVer.ZDB 和 TableReg.ZDB in /DOC0/DATA1.

Delet CfgTable.ZDB 、DBVer.ZDB, VerTable.ZDB in /IDE0/DATA1

2. Upload ZDB backup file

Reset OMP after ZDB is successfully uploaded.
