PROJECTS SUMMARY:
Project # 1

Project : MEDB Offshore ETL Development

Client : Medco, USA
Environment : Ab Initio2.14, GDE 1.14, Oracle10g, UNIX, Windows XP
Duration : Feb 2010 to Tilldate
Description:
Medco is a leading pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), with the nation's largest mail order
pharmacy operations. Through advanced pharmacy, Medco improves the health and lowers the total cost
of care for clients and their members.
We are using Oracle database as our source system which is getting transactional data from
website called drugstore.com. We are using Abinitio as an ETL tool in order to extract data from those
tables and applying multi-mastering rules on that data for making it viable for analysis and ultimately
loading into oracle tables, which will be used by the SAS team to generate the reports for analytics .
Responsibilities:

 Created graphs separately based on mapping documents.

 Extensively worked with Multi files system

 Provide daily status updates to the Onsite Co-ordinator

 Performing Transformations of source data with Transform Components like Replicate, Reformat,
Filter-by-Expression, Rollup etc.
 Worked with Partition and De Partition Components
 Worked in a Sandbox environment while extensively interacting with EME to maintain version
control on objects.

Project # 2

Project : Kroger Grocery Retailers

Client : Kroger, Cincinnati, OH, USA

Environment : Ab Initio 2.13, GDE 1.13, Oracle, UNIX, Windows xp

Duration : Sept 2008 to Jan - 2010

Description:
The Kroger is one of the nation's largest grocery retailers. The Kroger Company spans many states
with store formats that include grocery and multi-department stores, convenience stores and mall jewelry
stores. The DSS Sources information from three different data sources PIMS (Product Information
Management System), CIMS (Customer Information Management System), and CCAS (Customer
Contact Administrative System). This Application provides data of the various product sales in US, and
reports were generated on the various product groups, product promotions and market share of
competitor’s product group.
Responsibilities:

1. Worked with Partition Components like Partition by Range, Partition by Round Robin, and Partition
by Expression efficient use of Multifile System, which comes under Data Parallelism.

2. Performing Transformations of source data with Transform Components like Replicate, Reformat,
Filter-by-Expression, Rollup etc.

3. Used Lookups with Reformat Component to fetch matching records based on for the down
stream process.

4. Worked with Departition Components like Gather, Merge which will be used for adding the files
which is done partition for fast process of data files.

5. Worked in a Sandbox environment while extensively interacting with EME to maintain version
control on objects.

Project Name : ADW (Allcorp Dataware Housing)

Client : Allstate Insurance., Chicago

Role : Team Member

Environment : Ab Initio, Oracle9i

Duration : Sept 2007 to Aug 2008.

Team Size : 10

Description: The ADW is an initiative to replicate the mainframe EDW ETL system with newer
technology, which is more scalable, manageable and cost effective. The current mainframe process is
broadly classified as legacy site (extract process running on nine CPUs) and central site (data from the
legacy is transformed and loaded to EDW-DB2 database). For the most part, the ADW systems will be
replicating the mainframe central site process. This effort was a step towards retiring the DB2
Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) in favor of the newly constructed Oracle based Allcorp Data
Warehouse (ADW).
Responsibilities:

 Involved in performing Black Box testing for data extraction, transform, loading process.
 Documented the whole process flow, log files, locations and descriptions, log tables and
possible error messages, process codes and descriptions.
 Doing peer review for test plans and test results.
 Involved in doing Data Acquisition from production to the QA server by developing graphs.
 Involved in testing Abinitio graphs and wrapper scripts

 As a Quality Tester involved in executing the UNIX scripts and Keep tracking the defects in
Mercury Quality Center as a AbInitio Tester.
 Involved in doing the manual validation by comparing the source and target data.
