Instructor: JOAN D. MOHR, PT, Senior NDT Bobath Instructor

Joan D. Mohr, PT – Internationally renowned NDT/Bobath instructor, Joan is known

for her hands-on, practical clinical approach to the treatment of clients with neurological
impairments. Joan received her training from the Bobaths in 1966 and qualified as an
NDT instructor in Pediatrics in 1970 and as an Instructor in Adult Hemiplegia in 1973.
Joan travels and teaches throughout Israel, South Africa, Europe, Eastern Europe, North
and South America, China and India with a special focus on developing countries. Joan
provides corporate consultations and continues to spend part of her time in private
practice. She has served as chairman of NDTA and IBITA and has been a Senior NDT
Instructor since 1979. In 1988, she was honored as the recipient of the NDTA, Inc.,
Award of Excellence. Joan’s passion is teaching trunk control needed for gait

Descripción y objetivo: Curso dirigido a Kinesiólogos y Terapeutas Ocupacionales

quienes trabajen activamente en procesos de rehabilitación de pacientes con daño
neurológico. El curso esta destinado a introducir en las bases del análisis de la marcha
humana desde la biomecánica y los componentes de movimiento y patrones de marcha
normal versus los patrones de marcha anormal observables en pacientes con daño
neurológico central. Estos conceptos son reforzados en base al desarrollo y practica de
estrategias de manejo destinadas a facilitar el entrenamiento y adquisición de la función
en base al Concepto Bobath. Este curso será dictado por la Instructora en idioma ingles y
traducido simultáneamente al español.
