SALUDO

(NAME) the church welcomes you, and joins your parents and
friends to celebrate with you your 15th birthday. This celebration
should be a thanksgiving for having received life from God. In
this spirit of faith, let us place ourselves in the presence of the
Lord and ask for His divine mercy.

RITO PENITENCIAL

Lord, you have created us in your own image, but we have

deformed this image by sin; Lord, have mercy

Christ, you became one of us, in order to share our human nature
with all its weaknesses, except sin; Christ, have mercy

Lord, you send us the Holy Spirit to complete your work of love
and reconciliation in us; Lord have mercy

May the Almighty Lord have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and
lead us to eternal life Amen

LET US PRAY

Holy Father, we ask you to look kindly on your daughter, (NAME),

here at your altar. She has come to celebrate the life you have
given her through the holy union of her parents. Strengthen her
in that faith which has brought her here. Through the gifts of your
Holy Spirit, guide her way through life, as you guided your
favorite daughter, the virgin Mary. Through Jesus Christ, your
Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, forever
and ever. Amen
LITURGY OF THE WORD
A reading from the first letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians.

I may be able to speak the languages of men and even of angels, but if I
have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell, I
may have the gift of inspired preaching; I may have all knowledge and
understand all secrets; I may have all the faith needed to move mountains –
but if I have no love, I am nothing. I may give away everything I have, and
even give up my body to be burned – but if I have no love, this does me no
good.

Love is patient and kind; it is no jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-
mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love
is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and
its faith, hope and patience never fail.

When I was a child, my speech, feelings, and thinking were all those of a
child; now that I am grown, I have no more use for children ways. What we
see now is like a dim image in a mirror; Then we shall see face to face. What
I know now is only partial; Then it will be complete – as complete as God’s
knowledge of me.

Meanwhile these three remain: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of
these is love.

The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God

Responsorial Psalm

R. “Lord, you are good and forgiving

You, Oh Lord, are good and forgiving, / abounding in kindness to all who call
upon you.

Hearken, O Lord to my prayer / and attend to the sound of my pleading.

R.

All the nations you have made shall come and worship you, O Lord / and
glorify your name.
For you are great, and you do wondrous deeds; / you alone are God.
R.

You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, / slow to anger, abounding in
kindness and fidelity.

Turn toward me, and have pity on me; / give your strength to your servant.
R.

The Lord be with you And also with you

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew. Glory to you,

Lord

When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they came
together, and one of them, a teacher of the Law, tried to trap him with a
question. “Teacher”, he asked, “which is the greatest commandment in the
Law?”.

Jesus answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul, and
with all your mind”. This is the greatest and the most important
commandment.

The second most important commandment is like it: “love your neighbor as
you love yourself. The whole Law of Moses and the teachings of the
prophets depend on these two commandments”.

The Gospel of the Lord Praise to you, Lord

Jesus Christ.

HOMILY

RENEWAL OF BAPTISMAL PROMISES

(name), when you were an infant, your parents and godparents brought you
to the waters of baptism to be initiated into the new life of our savior, Jesus
Christ. At that moment they made a profession of faith for you and in your
name. Now the Church ask you to renew and affirm this same commitment
of faith of your own free will and conviction.

Do you renounce sin so that you may live in the freedom of a daughter of
God?

Do you renounce the attractions of evil, so that sin will not enslave you?

Do you renounce Satan, father and author of sin?

Do you believe in God the father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth?

Do you believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, Our Lord, who was born of the
virgin Mary, suffered, died and was buried, rose from the dead, and is seated
at the right hand of the father?

Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of
Saints, the Forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the dead, and in eternal
life?

BLESSING OF QUINCEANERA

We ask you, O Lord, to bless (NAME), as she celebrates her quinceañera

and enters a new time in life. We ask you to give her the grace to live her
life according to the beautiful teachings you give us in the Gospel. Bless her
not only on this happy occasion of her fifteenth birthday, but also in the
future years of her life. May she imitate the example of your blessed
Mother, Mary, by being truly a good Christian woman May she one day be
with you, Our Lord Jesus Christ forever in Heaven.
Amen.

Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come;

Amen.

Rite of Peace

Lord Jesus Christ, You said to your apostles: I leave you peace, my peace I
give you.

Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the peace
